I've just used up this cleanser, and it was okay.
It just didn't do anything for me skin. Also it's a little to drying for my combinated-dry-sensitive skin. A few weeks after starting using, my skin broke out really badly. If it was because of this cleanser, i don't now but it could've been.
However it makes your skin feeling clean and it removes makeup ok, but I will sugest still using makeup remover before using.
- I would not repurchase, but give a try! Maybe it would work for you? I know a lot of people love it, so maybe it's just my skin that's weird...?

I'm struggling with perimenopausal breakouts and having been using this gel for about 6 months. Its a decent cleanser and I haven't any reactions to it.
Word of a advice though, I find that I need to wash my face with water a lot after using this as it leaves a residual soap/gel on the skin even when I use a hot cloth. So anyone who suffers from dry skin should be aware that if you don't rinse your face thoroughly it may end up drying your skin out

This is surprisingly good, maybe just above average, not heart stopping, but does the job (too many commas yes I know! haha). It's gentle, effective at removing my face of the day and doesn't leave my skin feeling tight afterwards. It didn't break me out or leave me feeling overly dry or overly oily, I think it's a good drugstore option if you're open to trying something new.

Unfortunately this wasn't for me. Used it for about a week and developed very deep painful breakouts on my temples and eyebrows, so maybe I'm allergic to one of the ingredients? Lathers well and has no noticeable scent. I think it would be a great gentle cleanser for someone who's skin isn't as sensitive as mine.

I have gone through 4 bottles of this stuff and I can properly say that I love it! It lathers really well and gives me skin a really clean feeling. I highly recommend if you have oily/acne prone skin.

La Roche Posay, I love you! I have started using the Effaclar Duo two weeks ago and my skin is amazing. Then last week I thought, "I should start using the Effaclar Purifying Foaming Gel!!" I absolutely love it. I bought it at my local Target. 6.76 Fl Oz for $22.99! My face looks and feels amazing. I also use Tarte's Maracuja Oil on my face at night after the LRP products and for the day time I use different moisturizers. I would definitely say use a great moisturizer with these products as the ingredients could be very drying. However the cleanser has a PH of 5.5 which is great for your skin! Totally worth the price point and this bottle is going to last a long time!

I was looking for something that would keep my skin clean and clear w/o turning it into parchment paper. I had been using Neutrogena's anti-aging, anti-blemish cleanser, which is not bad, but since I had ran out of it, I wanted to try something new.
While I was doing some research, I ran into the Ultra reviews and they unanimously praised this to high heaven. I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I got the one in the white tube with the blue cap (the gel). It is a wonderful cleanser. I've been using this for two weeks now. It cleans deeply w/o stripping. Honestly. My aging skin does not feel tight and over-dry after using this. Also, it helped speed up the healing of a bothersome bump I had right in the middle of my cheek, which my trentoin cream did a good job of clearing, but as usual, over-dried that region.
Yes, it is expensive. However, it is a large tube and you need only the tiniest amount. I use the proverbial pea size and it's amazing how well it lathers w/o becoming watery, and how it's enough for your whole face. Believe me. Using more than that only wastes the product. The scent is light and clean and it vanishes quickly. And anyway, that's not something that bothers me as I like my cosmetics/skincare to smell nice.
I really recommend this cleanser to those with problem skin which is also dry, or sensitive, or mature. I am very happy with this.

I was prescribed this by my dermatologist for my sensitized, stressed and break out-prone skin and this had an effect after just one use. I've been using it for a month now and it is definitely a great cleanser, still have about half of the tube left. It is a clear gel and forms a thick, gentle lather, is non-irritating and even on my dry skin it doesn't feel very drying. It does a slight clean scent, but it doesn't irritate my dry, sensitive skin. The only downside is the price, as it's a tad expensive for me, for a bit above 10 pounds, but you are definitely buying quality if you're buying this. This cleanser immediately calmed the redness on my skin and the red spots looked a lot less flared after just one use. This cleanser is all about gentle, consistent cleansing. My dermatologist recommended I use this twice daily, and I'm definitely seeing results. Will definitely repurchase!

This is the best cleanser thus far above cetaphil and purpose both of which have been in my rotation

a very good cleanser, doesnt make me break out so thats a plus. takes off my makeup just fine (but then, i dont wear much-just mascara and blush). has fragrance but it smells clean. foams up nicely, gel formula goes a long way so use sparingly (dime sized should do). doesnt make my face feel tight afterwards so thats a huge plus. another reviewer said it had salicylic acid in it but i dont think it does-i did noticed it has zinc in it and thats suppose to be good for acne. this wash is geared towards acne prone peeps. not sure if i would rebuy because at my age (37), i need a little bit more resurfacing. but its nice to have when its time to give your skin a break from all the acids.
