I have really liked some of the L'oreal Vive products, mainly the ones in the yellow bottles (the name escapes me), also the pink is ok, the yellow really makes damaged hair look healthier. I saw this on sale and because I do have "dry, rebellious hair," that's also frizzy, another thing the bottle says it will treat, was excited to try this out. So I was surprised when I used this and my hair was frizzier than ever. I thought perhaps it was a fluke, so I used it again twice and each time I have been amazed at how frizzy my hair actually is, much more so than normal. Normally no one would look at me and see frizz even. I have a med condition that causes moisture glands to dry so I am battling worse dry hair/skin etc, than most. That said, the other vive products for dry damaged hair really do work for me so it's not that my hair is beyond repair. I have also been trying to keep to a low buy and simply use up what I have, another factor in my giving this another go, but this is useless.

All I have to say is, YUCK. I will never buy this shampoo/conditioner again. It weighed down my hair, left buildup, and made it greasy. I was initially drawn to it because of the flashy packaging, but I was let down! I would not recommend this to anyone!

Well... it's certainly smoothing and definitely not stripping... after a few uses, it made me feel like I had poured melted wax over my scalp and I had to switch to a harsher shampoo just to get rid of the build-up. When you look like you haven't shampooed for a week when, in reality, you just did -- time to find a new shampoo. May be okay for exceptionally dry hair once in awhile.

This was really cheap at the store and I needed shampoo so i thought i'd try it. I had no idea of the disaster to come. It has a very thick consistency, which was alright, smelled fine, and when I washed my hair it did feel smoother. But when it dried....eugh...It felt as though it was coated with grease. My hair felt stalky and awful. I had to go out, buy another shampoo and wash my hair 4 times just to remove the buildup!!!!!!!!

this is for the formula for thick hair.

great smell!! exactly what i need for my super straight yet sometimes puffy hair. it really does smooth! i use it with random conditioners or VivePro Nutri Gloss conditioning treatment.

HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont kno if it was the Shampoo or the Cond. but it turned my Hair into STRAW and I felt all oily. My HG is Head and Shoulders but I wanted 2 try this since my Mom uses it..Nasty stuff..ewwwwww NEVER again!!!

I am reviewing the Vive Pro Smooth Intense shampoo for Dry, Frizzy, Rebellious Hair-Medium Texture. The companion conditioner is not good at all, at least not for my dry naturally curly hair. Am returning. THIS SHAMPOO FEELS LIKE IT COATS MY HAIR, PROBABLY BECAUSE IT HAS CASTOR OIL IN IT (WHICH, WHILE GOOD FOR THE HAIR, IT SHOULD NOT BE IN THE SHAMPOO!) YOU DO NOT NEED TO USE A CONDITIONER AFTER USING IT, WHICH IS THE ONLY PLUS ABOUT IT, AND I AGREE THE CONSISTENCY IS LIKE HONEY.

I"m on my second bottle of this shampoo and I love it. Along with the shampoo. Its moisturizing, but clean rinsing and doesn't weight hair down. I am never faithful to shampoos and conditioners - buying a second bottle of anything means a lot! I barely make it through one bottle before moving on to my next. Try it, you won't be disappointed.

I love this shampoo! Along with the conditioner, it is the only shampoo that ever noticibly made a difference to my hair! I have thick, frizzy hair that is neither curly, wavy, nor straight, just big. I blow dry and flat iron almost everyday, and I usually have a ton of flyaways where my hair has broken from constantly messing with it. This shampoo and conditioner smooths down those flyaways and leaves my hair silky and shiny. I also use Bumble and Bumble defrizz to help, but I can use the s/c only and I still get great results. I do have to use a clarifying shampoo every once in a while, but other than that I think this shampoo is perfect. I have been using it for 2 years and while I keep trying other things, I always keep this on hand, and always go back to it. Definitely my shampoo HG.

I loved this shampoo at first, it smelled wonderful! Unfortunatley, by the end of the first bottles of shamp/cond of Smooth Intense, it really started to build up and left my hair feeling "crispy" after letting my hair air dry. I'm glad I tried this and did love it at first, but it's back to Tresemme for me! Tresemme is the best ever! :)

This shampoo does help frizz a little but it leaves a scalp buildup & I don't like the smell. I've been spoiled by Trader Joe's shampoo now so I won't be buying this again.

This product was great-----but only for about 3 hrs after I shampooed. After 3 hours, my head would be so oily and disgusting. This shampoo did wonders for making my hair really silky, soft and smooth, but it would be even greater if it did not make your scalp so oily after a short amount of time.

I bought this after seeing ad after ad on tv. I have long, curly, and frizzy hair, so I was excited to try something that would supposedly make it 3x smoother. I used this once, and it made my hair dry and crispy. It was definitely the worst shampoo I have ever tried. The conditioner didn't do anything to moisturize or smooth my hair either. I tried the shampoo and conditioner again today after putting in a 15 minute hair treatment, and this shampoo stripped off all of the moisture that I had just put on my hair. The only redeeming quality in this product is the scent, which is light, clean, and fresh.

Love it! The smell is absolutely wonderful and it does what it says, makes my hair smooth and shiny!! It definately feels a lot silkier when I use this shampoo. It lathers nicely but does not leave my hair feeling stripped. Works great when paired with the matching conditioner and serum. Will buy again!

I used this about 2 years ago. It works fine as a shampoo and I didn't notice any build-up, but it just didn't seem to make my hair any smoother after I straightened it.

Horrible, just horrible! Has the consistency of honey, and looks like honey, but once you lather up it's more like greasy, nasty thick gel. Does not wash out and leaves an oily feeling residue in my hair even after 10 minutes of constant running water over my hair. You're better off rubbing crisco into your scalp because this is exactly what it feels like. NEVER AGAIN!

I really like this. Most shampoos that are smoothing or whatever tend to weigh down my hair, but this leaves it smooth yet full of body (which is hard to do on my nearly waist-length, very thick hair). I don't care either way about the smell, but I'll repurchase if it keeps giving results like these.

this shampoo is nothing special. at the beginning, i HATED it so much, but for some reason i just kept on using it. now i don't really mind it. :P i think before the reason i hated it was because i had to take baths and i can never seem the rinse my hair out properly in baths. anyway, i'm finally able to take showers and ever since then, i've grown to like this shampoo. i'm not in love with it, but it does a good job and cleaning my hair and keeping it somewhat smooth. it's defintly not 3X smoother though. :P whatever. i doubt i will be buying this shampoo again. i'm just going to continue with the bottle i have now and then find a new shampoo.

I love all the Vive shampoos and this one is no exception. I picked up the Smooth Intense Shampoo on sale at Ulta and it's a must-have for ladies with frizzy, dry hair. I have dry, wavy hair and it's very thick and unruly. This smooths my hair and leaves it feeling like silk. Plus the scent is great, very fresh. The bright orange bottle is kind of ugly, but with a result like this, who cares?!
