I was not overly impressed with this mascera compared to all of the other high end masceras that I have used before. There was nothing special about it.

I've used Definifils Waterproof in black for years now. It's as good as a waterproof mascara is going to get. Pros: Great brush, gives long almost clump-free lashes, waterproof as all heck and almost flakeproof. Cons: Some days the same tube works better than on other days (don't know why), dries out quickly, can be a tad clumpy if you apply more than 2-3 coats, dryish so it can flake a bit and the price, of course. Also, for some reason it's also hit-or-miss on buying a good tube. Tips: make sure to place brush at very base of lashes and glide slowy from base to tip, let dry in between coats and every once in a while (when too much mascara comes out of tube on the wand), wipe excess off w/ a tissue. Best waterproof mascara on the market now, almost perfect but there is room for slight improvement.

My previous HG was Prescriptives' mascara and it's been hard to find a suitable replacement but Definicils comes pretty close. I use waterproof mascara because I have oily lids, so I can't speak to its waterproof properties in actual water but I can say this doesn't cause too much in the way of raccoon eyes. It separates nicely and doesn't look too clumpy. I'd say this is a good mascara if you want to look like you have naturally beautiful lashes (which I do) but not if you want Zooey Deschanel in false eyelashes-type volume.

This is my go-to mascara for work, since I work outside. It pretty much only lengthens and defines, but does not volumize lashes, which is perfect for work. I feel like this mascara always feels slightly sticky, as if it never dries down. However, it performs really well throughout the day and isn't fussy with application. It comes off easily with cleansing balm but flakes off a little if it gets wet. Serves the purpose I need it to, so I keep repurchasing!

For those who wear contact lenses, be aware of this product. It sticks on your contacts, clumps, burns non-stop and makes your eyes feel heavy. I personally hated it. I'm not into waterproof products anyway. I recommend touch proof ones and regular lancome mascaras are much better.

After reading and hearing so much about Lancôme mascaras I thought I'd give it a try, so I purchased this one through Brigette's Boutique for a reasonable price (something like 20 dollars). I was incredibly disappointed.
First of all, I thought there was a problem with my product because it was very very dry. So I went online and after reading some other reviews I saw that this was not my bad luck - that's just how the product is. So it is very dry and because of that incredibly hard to build it up without looking clumpy. It lenghtens ok and separates, but honestly, my Colossal from Maybelline does a better job than that. Oh, and even the Maybelline mascaras come off easier than this one. It is IMPOSSIBLE to take this off and in the effort I lost a lot of lashes.
And the packaging... It NEVER really closes. So it makes even easier to dry out.
So, maybe this is just the waterproof version, but I really hated it. Now I'm back to my Eyeko one, which at the time I bought this Lancome one I couldn't buy because it was out of stock. The Eyeko continues to be the best mascara for me: it lenghtens ans separates and it is sooo black.

This is the best mascara on the market for those of us with poker straight, thick lashes. We have unique problems. Once my lashes are curled I need to apply a waterproof formula mascara in order for the curl to stay. And not all waterproof mascaras are formulated the same way. I've purchased some WPF mascaras that, while they may be waterproof, don't hold the curl. This mascara does it all. My curl stays in my lashes until I remove this mascara and NONE of this mascara deposits under my eye - NONE. I can't always afford to purchase this mascara and sometimes settle with great lash waterproof mascara but it just isn't the same. I try to purchase this mascara when there is a bonus on which Lancôme often features. I remove this mascara with Lancôme's Bi-Facils Double Action eye makeup remover which I ALWAYS have on hand because it removes makeup like a dream and there is no tugging or rubbing involved on my eye area. (But that's another review. ). All in all, I can say that this mascara is the Cadillac of mascaras for me and my needs.

My HG Mascara!
I've NEVER been able to wear mascara without 'smudging' I've tried masacara's ranging from £3 - £20 but this at £21.50 was a shock - I mean really.. £21.50 on mascara!!! (it looses one lipstick for price!)
BUT it works, it defines, stays in place and doesnt smudge I can go to work and not have panda eyes by midday GREAT!
It does clog up slightly so just wipe the brush if you need and it IS difficult to remove, I use Clinique (purple) eye make up remover and it works well but you'd have no chance with soap and water!
I needed a wedding mascara that lasted the day and I've found it, problem is I'm now addicited and at £21.50 I'm hoping it lasts well!

Pros:
- love the container
- very defining
- natural looking
- lengthening
- no smudging at all
- not too hard to remove if you wear thin coats
Cons:
- it's $35 (tax inc) at Sephora...I can definitely find a better mascara for less
- it only comes in black and the black looks like dark grey :/
- not 100% waterproof, but 95% waterproof
- hard to remove if you let it dry and reapply (my sister took 15 minutes to wash it off and 4 lashes fell off)

I LOVE REGULAR Lancome Definicils...I HAAAATE the waterproof version! Let me repeat..HATE it! It dries out and applies like clay..It's clumpy and horrid!
I use the REGULAR definicils DAILY and have for years...but I will NEVER buy this mess again!

I bought this mascara because I was going on a beach vacation and figured that I needed a waterproof mascara. This stuff is truly awful and I'll never buy it again. It is so dry the first tube I bougt I returned and got another one but the new tube is just as bad. I'm thinking it's the product. It's hard to apply because it's so dry and actually hurts my lashes when I apply. It's not lengthening at all, it just makes my lashes darker but so brittle! It's horrible. The stuff is also impossible to get off at the end of the day. Eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup doesn't even seem to work. I have to use so much remover to get this mascara off my lashes!
The only good thing about this product is that it is waterproof and heatproof. It won't come off.
I feel like I wasted my money with this one.

Its great mascara, I tested million of different ones and this one in my favorite. Gives super long and separated lashes.
Only one BIG minus is for waterproof formula.... smudges pretty bad, but as I love what this mascara does to my lashes so I use Clarins double fix on top of Lancome and works perfect!

Well,Lancome Definicils is new my HG waterproof mascara. It was Marathon Mascara by Cover Girl. They discontinued it some time ago. For awhile, I bought this (usually $4.99 tube) mascara on eBay for about $15 a tube. I was willing to spend that much as Marathon HAD been (now a HAS BEEN) the only utterly waterproof, bombproof mascara I had EVER tried.
But then the greedy eBayers started charging $30 a tube for this $4.99 a tube product. That placed it ABOVE the cost of Lancome Definicils, which my daughter had highly recommended.
So, I bought Definicils and am I ever WOWED! This truely trumps Marathon, no racoon eyes even after hours at work, on my feet, in an establishment with NO air conditioning, in 90+ degrees....HEAVY sweating but NO mascara running.
No mascara run after swimming. None after working out. Didn't even come off in the shower. No mascara run even when my allergies started acting up, my eyes were tearing and even when I rubbed at my itching/tearing eyes with a tissue. Does come off with a little olive oil on a cotton ball or pad.
I was surprised that the straight wand added so much volume and depth to my lashes. But it does and I haven't had any clumping in the month that I've been using this.
Definicils waterproof is my new HG mascara. I highly recommend this for TRUE waterproof mascara users.

I got this after exchanging the regular one for this waterproof one. I really like this one because it stays put and does what it says. It definitely lengthens my lashes and separates them really well. I am very satisfied. NO clumping as well. I think after so many years of searching, Ive found my fave mascara.

I love this. It holds really well and you don't have to worry about smudging color in the rain or on a hot day. It doesn't make your eyelashes look too long. My eyelashes looked nice and thick and the color of black in this mascara brought out the green tones of my eyes!!! The only negative is that because it is rather strong, your eyelashes can actually break apart when you accidently rub your eyes. Also, it sometimes makes your eyelashes look kind of "dried-up". The application is really easy because the brush isn't too wide :) I would definitely recommend this!!!

When I 1st got this product, I lliked it alot. It went on glossy and gave my skimpy lashes volume. The problem is it has dried out after 2 months. I know WP formulas might before others but this is a high priced product and it should have lasted longer. I did get it at an outlet mall so it may have been old even though I had the sales person check it for me. Won't repurchase.

Lancome definicils is supposed to be the best mascara in the world and I think it comes to close being the best in the world when it comes to the original formula. The waterproof formula doesn't really deliver what the regular does.
I have straight lashes which means I have to curl them and I have to use waterproof mascara or primer to hold my curls all day long.
I used to use hypnose which I LOVED but I got lash greedy and wanted to try something that added length (I really should have stuck with hypnose waterproof).
First off, this formula is probably the driest mascara I have ever tried. My lashes flaked and clumped, the mascara did not go on evenly and I had a really hard time evening out the lashes while applying. I'm also not impressed with that fact that my bottle dried out in about 1.5 months within opening it.
Secondly, performance. It really didn't lengthen (again, I saw more volume and length with my hypnose).
Overall, an O-K mascara. Just don't expect anything much from it.
I'm going back to hypnose waterproof (which goes on clean, smooth and doesn't flake or dry).

I picked this up because I had heard such good reviews about it, but my brand-new tube starting clumping within three days of my opening it. I have to use my fan brush daily to get the clumps out, which is very frustrating because I am in a hurry in the morning. I will use this tube for a few months because it was $25, and I don't want to waste money, but I would definitely not repurchase. DiorShow is much better.

Pros
- Gives some length and volume
- good staying power
- little to no flaking
Cons
- clumps like CRAZY
- the cap of the mascara never fully screws back on.
The clumping itself is what would make me steer clear of this mascara. I do not want clumpy, fake looking eyelashes.

it is true that this has great staying power but is hard to get off even with BIfacil. and you don't really need a waterproof version of definicils as i find the original non waterproof one has all the staying power you will need unless you are going to be swimming all day. even then i'm not sure you need anything more than the non waterproof definicils. It feels heavy on my lashes and clumps more than the original. I also think it caused me to loose some of my lashes because the formula was so harsh.
I think I'll stick to my regualr definicils
