This is the best brush I've ever had. As a professional makeup artist, I have loads of brushes but this beats all of them by far.
I saw it with a customer of mine and from the way she was handling it, it was obvious she didn't know the value. I took a good look at it and found out it was by NARS. I knew anything from NARS had to be good quality. I offered to buy it from her and she sold it for a whooping $4. I didn't think twice. I paid immediately.
After she left, I decided to use my new brush in applying my IMAN luminous foundation (clay 3) which I had already lost interest in and boy, my face glowed. The bristles are stiff and they do the job. It's not scratchy at all and I now started seeing my iman as a brand new product. I would re-purchase dis brush over and over again. It's so fantastic.
*i hope the woman I bought it from never discovers the value* hehehe

This is great for bronzer, it blends like a dream and picks up product well. Right now it picks up a little too much for my pale skin, but if I ever got some color again and could handle more bronzer then I'd use it. Right now I use it to blend areas that need a little help in blending, whether it be the blush or sculpting powder. I love the feel of the bristles, you can tell it's very good quality.

I love this brush! It is my first (and only) Nars brush but I am glad I splashed out and bought it!
It applies everything so smoothly, and is perfect for powders and liquid foundation. It even made my cheapy 17 bronzer that was far too orange and sparkly work nicely!
I've seen reviews of people saying that its too scratchy or hard, mine seems fine, but you do need a stiffer brush to evenly apply bronzer otherwise it will apply unevenly.
It was extremely expensive, but I think its worth it, and it seems sturdy enough that I won't need to repurchase it.

I really like how unique NARS brushes are, and this one is no exception. It is very versatile and can be used for blush, bronzer, powder, and even liquid foundation. I purchased this to apply my liquid foundation since its pretty much a Kabuki brush with a longer handle. The bristles are quite rough, but if you wash this a few times it gets softer. I do think the roughness helps blend things better so they are not blotchy. I really have nothing bad to say here, it is quite a great brush, and like someone on here mentioned, some people find it absurd to buy a brush for $52, yet they'll spend that amount on foundation or blushes which last a few months. However a brush will last you a lifetime with great care. In conclusion, this is a useful brush that can substitute many brushes.

I adore this brush. I use it on a daily basis for everything from buffing mineral foundation in, blush, bronzer, setting powder, you name it. I love its huge thick handle, because to me it feels easier to grip. This is by far my favorite face brush. Basically the only thing I DON'T use this for is my liquid foundation...I use my fingers for that because I feel like my foundation gets too cakey if I apply with a foundation brush or my MAC 187.

This is one of my big 4, my buffing brushes. It's a great brush, but my Smashbox #19 is better, because it does the job as well and is much much softer. My MAC #182 is much the same as the Smashbox, but with a shorter handle. (Your choice.) And my Nars Botan is probably the best for buffing, but it's big, big, big.

I was not impressed with the brush. It's $2 less than my beloved Smashbox #19 brush but I feel that it's an inferior brush. The sexy black handle is, as always, gorgeous and high quality but the bristles are too scratchy for me. It reminds me of a Bare Escentuals brush, which I hate. My Smashbox brush is much softer and denser. Now, if the Nars bronzer brush was half the price of my Smashbox then I can see keeping it around. If you're looking for a softer version of the Nars bronzer brush, try the Smashbox #19.

I don't wear bronzer so I used this brush for applying liquid foundation. It is amazing for this purpose!! It blends perfectly and leaves you with a airbrushed appearance. I have it up for swap because I have purchase the MAC #187 skunk brush and it has sadly replaced this fantastic brush.

this brush has very ROUGH bristles. it's a good one applying liquid foundation and NARS bronzer which is pressed very tightly. after a few washes, it WILL become softer but still, feel this very rough on the skin. hm...the price is also steep..$75 CDN :(

Edit:i'm raising my lippies, as i have washed the brush for several months although i am not using it. it does feel a lot softer now, so i might consider start using this brush. after so many washes though, it shed only 2 tiny hair, so i'm satisfied.

Great Product! Yes, I agree the brush can feel somewhat scratchy on your face, but I believe that's what makes this brush a bronzer brush. If it was too soft, my bronzer wouldn't apply naturally and evenly. By the way, for those of you who don't know how to use this brush: Draw a number "3" from your forehead.. to the cheek.. to your jaw, on both sides of the face. I use it with my beloved Casino bronzer and it doesn't leave any patches on me. The brush does make a difference. Definitely a must-have!

This is my all time favorite bronzer brush. The bristles are very tightly packed, but loosen up with use. The bristles aren't super soft but they aren't rough either. Even though I have a million brushes, i find myself buffing my loose powder into my skin, applying bronzer, and sometimes even blush with this one! I've had mine for about 5 years now and its held up beautifully. Its $50, ,but i figure even if i lost it now, it only cost me $10 a year to use this brush everyday!

The NARS bronzer brush has a short, thick, easy to hold, black handle, and is made from extremely dense goat hair. It makes applying Laguna to my very fair skin effortless! No more splotches, tell-tale lines, or unnatural looking bronzer for me:) So far, this brush has not shed at all on me. If you are using your bronzer with a powder brush and not liking the results – you need a bronzer brush!!! For those that think this brush is scratchy.. I must disagree – don’t find it scratchy at all, haven’t experienced any irritation on my somewhat sensitive skin, it is just not as super soft as other brushes I have.. it’s not supposed to be super soft like a powder brush.. the whole point of this brush is to apply and buff bronzer into the skin to blend it and make it look natural. If it was too soft, not enough colour would show and you would end up layering too much product on and getting splotches of uneven colour because it wouldn’t get buffed in enough. Softness doesn’t always equal a good brush, it depends entirely on what the intended purpose of the brush is!! Honestly – go to a NARS counter and test out a bronzer on your arm using their powder brush and then using their bronzer brush.. there is a huge huge huge difference:) The only bronzer I own and have used this brush with is NARS Laguna (I’m not really much of a bronzer girl!), so I can’t comment whether this brush is good with bronzers from other lines.. but it’s great with the denser, more pigmented texture of Laguna. This is an HG brush for me, most likely the only bronzer brush I’ll ever buy.

A side note to my fellow Canadian MUA’ers…
If you go to a NARS counter, this brush is $75 Canadian, which is a huge mark-up from the $50 US that is advertised on their website. I recommend purchasing this brush through Sephora online, because for all the products that they do not sell in their Canadian stores, this brush being one of them, they will charge you the current exchange rate price. So, I got mine for $49.50 Canadian:) A much better price:) It’s a great brush, but for $49.50 it’s a lot more reasonable. I don’t think I’d pay $75 for it. Check it out at a NARS counter to make sure you really like it, but buy it online through Sephora!!

This brush gets 5 lippies, although I should probably take a few off b/c of the steep price... However, this brush saved my now beloved Laguna bronzer from ending up on swap or in the trash can. It is truly a remarkable bronzer brush that will help perfectly blend in ANY bronzer, not just NARS. I ended up buying it after I complained to the NARS rep that I didn't like how Laguna looked on my skin and she convinced me it was b/c of the brush. She was right. When I complained how expensive it was (around $70 CAD), she said to me that we don't think twice dishing out $50 CAD on Laguna 2x year, yet the brush will probably last me a lifetime. True, good quality brushes last a long time, and this is a VERY good quality brush. I ended up seeing exact same looking brush in Sephora under the Sephora brand, half price, however I haven't used it aside from in the store. So, if NARS is too steep of a price for you, try out Sephora's brand. In any case, if you use powder bronzers, I highly recommend this over longer-bristled "powder" brushes.

I am torn..

If you are not prone to break outs or have irregular, uneven skin, this brush is a god send, it buffs for foundation (powder) and it gives you a streak free bronze.
HOWEVER
if you are some of the many like me with redness, break outs, acne scars etc. etc., rethink the bronzer brush because like a girl said earlier, this brush disrupts any concealer or foundation you put on top, even if you set it. Its too rough, but it has to be in order to make it look naturel, so it depends what you are going for.

Perfect Nars quality. and great for contouring, but not great for my skin at this time.

Looks good and seems to be of good quality materials, but this brush is way too scratchy and hard for use on my face. I use it for my decolletage and occasionally for blending around my neck and hairline. I prefer a much softer brush for my face.
******UPDATE****** I've had a change of heart about this brush. I've given it a few more attempts and am starting to do wonderful things with it. I'm using it to apply and set my powder foundation. For me it's more a cross between a powder brush and a buffer brush - sweep lightly and you get the effect of a powder brush, be a bit firmer and it buffs nicely and helps set the powder foundation. I used to pat my powder with a sponge after application to set it into my face, but this brush does this and more so I now find it part of my daily routine. The scratchiness can be reduced and managed by applying less pressure and using it at a different angle. With tail between legs, I can say that I am really starting to love this brush. The quality is impressive too. To those of you that have found it difficult to work with or too harsh, my advice is to try it a few more times before you totally write it off. xx

This brush is awesome. After the MA at the Nars counter did my bronzer with this brush I was obsessed and had to have it. I don't know why people said it is scratchy. I think its the perfect softness for a bronzer brush. If it were as soft as a powder brush the bronzer wouldn't go on right. This makes applying bronzer mistake proof. I use it everyday and if anything happened to it I would be forced to by another. I do wish it came in some sort of case or box since it does not fit in my brush cup or brush roll.
