This is my go-to fragrance. It's a lovely scent with a good balance of vanilla, musk and sandalwood. It lasts all day, doesn't cost all that much, and my husband and kids all say I smell yummy. Every once in awhile I'll go through a floral or coconut phase, but I always come back to this.

As others have noted, the initial blast of this is off-putting. I think it's a little heavy on the alcohol. So my way around this is to spray one spritz on myself 20 minutes before I leave for wherever I'm going, and by the time I get there I smell just wonderful. One spritz is all it takes. There's just the right mix of vanilla and sandalwood in this fragrance; I don't consider it especially musky, actually - I do like musk, but this is more sandalwood, at least on me. I love it and wish that some of my other, more expensive, fragrances would suit me half as well as this, but I take the small victories where I can get 'em. Five stars all the way.

It takes awhile before I can smell the vanilla. It smells good, but there is not enough vanilla for me.

It's so cozy and warm. I have an older bottle I rediscovered a couple months ago. I assume the formula is around about the same.

If this works with your body chemistry what a lucky woman you are. So it's not 60$ an oz. I'm okay with that. It's such a comfortable fragrance! I have to say out of quite a few perfumes I own I feel like this cheapie works the best with my body chemistry. A little alluring, but classic in and of itself. Sweet but not overbearingly so. This vanilla and musk formula just work together. Creamy, classic, warm, inviting, a delicate spicy musk touch. I just love Coty's Vanilla Musk.

I used to use this a lot when I was younger, but it's never too late to review. Vanilla is a favorite to wear, it's class even in a cheap $2 spray. This was of course a bit more than that price-wise, and think it costs around $20 a bottle? Give or take. It comes with 1 oz. of product. It actually lasts a long time on your skin, and it mixes well with a lot of skin. A vanilla or warm scented lotion makes this last even longer on your skin. I always sprayed a few puffs out each time I used it. This vanilla isn't very bright and peppy. It's more feminine and seductive and sexy. This isn't child's traditional vanilla icecream. It smells like vanilla and sandalwood to me. Not sandalwood's biggest fan here, but I am for vanilla and this smells great! It has a slight metallic edge to it, but it's not a main key. Packaging is cute. The box is a nice cream color. The product itself is a translucent yellow in a clear bottle. I love the lid! The lid is a bronze color with designs in a deeper bronze. It looks like plants, but it could be random smudges. I have bought this product twice, which means I have repurchased. I used up the first bottle down to the last drop, but the second remains pretty much untouched. Maybe I just don't want to use it, but I think it's more along the lines of the fact that I'm not very high matenience and would feel more comfortable using one of those cheap Bath and Body Work's body spray or some equally cheap drugstore brand.

Vanilla, musk and Sandalwood should be very pleasing to me but this one has a sharp, synthetic note on me. The initial spray is almost bitter but the dry down is better. I do not get much sweetness. I think I would like it with more vanilla.

Elegant, pretty, and unpretentious. Goes on sweet and slightly spicy. Would be suitable for just about any woman, any occasion. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is that it seems to lack depth and staying power. Still, a lovely fragrance.

I used to work at a perfume counter and smelled a lot of perfumes. I have to say that vanilla musk is one of my faves! I was in the drugstore one day and picked it up.I love vanilla but I was expecting to smell a super sweet or vanilla candle.I liked it and I thought it's 2.00 what have I got to loose. I am now on my third bottle! I love this! It's cheap, easy to find and smells amazing!

Thank you MUA sisters for introducing me to this little princess. I live in Turkey in the Middle East and therefore am deprived of the drugstore finds that seems to make everyone so happy. In my land of normally mainstream mid-price fragrances reaching sky-high costs because of tax and sellers' greed, Vanilla Musk is a treat both for the wallet and my vanilla-musk loving nose. On me this is buttery, fluffy but never foody. I don't get much orange blossom in the beginning, just a tangy, slightly metallic edge, but that doesn't disturb me at all. It then softens into a lovely, clean but round skinscent that offers intoxicating wafts from time to time. It goes well with white angora jumpers, chunky woolen scarves, all powder colours and that unexpected sunshine on cold winter days. It loves my pyjamas and after-bath hours, hot chocolate and domestic joys such as organising my books, papers and old albums. I happily pay international postage for it and will never be without it.

best. ever. I've had people tell me I smell good while wearing various scents, but never as much as when I wear this. it's the most delicious vanilla scent, not fake or overpowering, and it lasts well into the day/night/whenever you put it on. some people have described it as having a citrus scent to it initially, but I don't seem to pick up on that. I picked up a bottle at wal-mart for $20 bucks, pretty uncostly for a fragrance if you ask me. this is definitely at the front of the row of perfumes and body sprays on my dresser, and I imagine it'll stay there for awhile! :)

This is basically a vanilla sandalwood scent. Works well with my body chemistry and smells fabulous all day. If you're a fan of Wild Musk like I am, I'm pretty sure you'll love this. I get compliments +++ from men, women and children when I wear this.

On a run of revisiting, or trying for the first time, a lot of drugstore staples. I've been really surprised by some, this among them.
Out of the 4 musks by Coty (Women/Wild/Vanilla/White) I think this is my favourite (I give the Musk for Women the higher score for personal nostalgia!) . There's an initial sneezy blast of sharp citrus, and you have to wait for that to settle, but in the drydown this becomes a lovely soft musk with just enough vanilla sweetness. The vanilla is not sugary, and the musk retains its slight edge. It's a cozy, milky skinscent. Very easy to wear and has a surprising depth for a cologne. Like all the musks, terrific layered as well.

At the initial spray there is a metallic orangey tang to it that could put you off as it's quite strong. Its not horrible, its just weird. However give this 20 minutes and it softens into a beautiful easygoing vanilla musk, just like the name says. its not the type of musk that smells like animals or unwashed humans its a soft pretty musk and the vanilla is not a foody cloying vanilla, although it is a little sweet, but its almost like an oriental vanilla. I think thats the sandal and cedarwood in the mix, it lends a bit of depth to the combination. All in all a delightful scent for such a cheap price, after the top notes drydown this would be suitable for anything but also a good bed scent.

I'm afraid I hated this. I mean no offense to those who love it and I probably smells okay on your skin, but on mine it comes across as intrusively cloying and over-sweet. Orange and vanilla are dodgy on me at the best of times and vanilla and sandalwood tend to also work very poorly on me. This baby has all three plus patchouli, another note that can go oh-so-dreadfully wrong with my chemistry. Put them all together and what you get is a scent that, while not offensive perse, is so up my nose and sweeeetttt and harsh-woody-cloying---oh, no, no, scrub scrub scrub! This is not a zero because I could see it working for others just fine, but on my skin, it's a serious no-go.

Pleasant enough little fragrance, but it can become cloying after awhile. I have the splash, which has a strange bottle - the cap is very hard to remove. The vanilla fades pretty quickly. I prefer Jovan white musk for a drugstore musk, or Vanilla Fields for a vanilla.

It's funny how much I like this modest fragrance, considering I'm not a fan of vanillas or of musks. But the vanilla in VM isn't remotely reminiscent of a cookie, nor is the musk remotely reminiscent of unwashed humans. The combination is something else entirely. My overall impression from this scent is warmth. It isn't all that smooth (there is a very sharp, almost metallic tang in the open) and it isn't soft (that open has a real punch to it). What makes it a winner for me is that it's the scent of a strong woman....open, capable, athletic and undeterred. I've found it to be the perfect sports fragrance. It 'blossoms' when you exert yourself and perspire just a little. The warmer your skin is, the better this scent works. And unlike the heavy hitters like Angel or Giorgio, you can wear it to work out at the gym. I play a lot of tennis -- indoors and out -- and always wear this when I play. Everyone compliments me, both male and female. I'm so sorry it's been discontinued. Thankfully it was in production a long time so there are bottles to be had on the secondary market.

Am I smelling something different than anyone else? Coty Vanilla Musk. Not Vanilla Fields, but Vanilla Musk. Butter. Buttery, rich vanilla, a hint of malt behind it, clean skin subtly in the background. Very light, very beautiful, not too sweet a vanilla but not afraid of the vanilla. Maybe a teensy teensy hint of gardenia in the quality of the butteriness. This is gorgeous.

Yes, it is green, not buttery--that's the orange blossom and woods coming out. But being a vanilla lover, I enjoy wearing varying notes of vanilla(Hpnotic Poison, Addict, Pink Sugar, Deep Red, etc.) I would not want all of my vanillas to resemble each other TOO closely. What would be the fun in that?

As a side note. I wore this one yesterday, and when I went in to get gas, the clerk asked if I was wearing perfume and what it was. So I told him Vanilla Musk. He said" MMMM vanilla, with a dreamy expression. It's the truth --men love vanilla!
