I purchased this product because it was on sale and I do not like the scents of other St. Ives lotions. The fragrance was very sweet and it went on smoothly, absorbing without being greasy or sticky. It did not fully moisturize my dry winter skin, however, it is not an extra strong lotion and it is to be expected. The biggest problem I have with this product is the pump. The one I purchased was defective and I have to use the pump stick to dispense the lotion. Overall, this is a good product for the price and it is probably best suited for spring and fall.

I think this is a very nice body lotion because it is very much less sticky than most lotion i used. The vanilla smells very nice but any other smell is just very annoying to me. It moisturise my skin well but after not using it for a few days my skin became crazy.

I will always repurchase this body lotion. The smell is divine but not overpowering (and my boyfriend loves it). As with all St. Ives body lotions, it is fast-absorbing and non-greasy. The moisturization is not terribly long-lasting but it's such a pleasure to apply that I don't mind.

This moisturiser is fantastic and smells soooo yummy! If you like sweet delicious vanilla scents then you'll love this moisturiser. It leaves a beautiful warm vanilla scent behind which I love!
The moisturiser itself is great. It leaves my skin very soft and with no greasy residue. It doesn't leave my hands all greasy either after I've applied the lotion which I love and makes me wanna use this stuff even more.
The price is cheap, the bottle is huge and I like the pump a lot more than moisturiser in a pot (more hygenic).
Overall this is an extremely affordable indulgent moisturiser, and if you love vanillla :-) you'll love this!

Love this! I have exceptionally dry skin that doesn't seem to absorb moisture so normal moisturisers sit on my skin and feel greasy and transfer on to clothes, chairs etc. This product aborbs quickly into the skin and has a light, refreshing scent. Leaves my skin soft and moisturised and not greasy!

Good old St. Ives. This product has been around for a while (I still remember the old packaging). First, the smell. Yummy! I'm pretty sure everyone else has already summed it up, so I need not say more. But it's amazing. The best thing about this lotion. The consistency is nice, not too thick, but not watery. It spreads wonderfully and absorbs without a greasy residue. But I find that in half an hour, I'm dry all over again. So while I love using this cream, it is not even close to enough moisture for me :( But if you don't need a heavy duty moisturizer and love smelling like cookies, try this!

I've been using this lotion for years now and is definitely my hg. My skin is incredibly soft and I love the smell, its like slathering vanilla pudding on your body. I'm not huge on heavily perfumed lotions so this one is perfect for me

I use this body lotion in winter. I find the scent to be plesant but not long lasting so doesn't clash with the fragrances I wear. I find it quick to absorb and non-greasy. My skin doesn't need that much moisture, just a little to get me through winter. I like the pump dispenser.

Aw, I really wanted this lotion to not irritate my skin but unfortunately there were angry itchy little red bumps appearing over the insides of my forearms within a couple of hours. A real shame as it's cheap, smells like French vanilla ice cream but I guess I'll just have to use it up on my legs as they don't seem affected. Not a heavy lotion, would have been perfect for summer over my bha/aha lotion which on it's own smells like old spice and wet towels. ; )

The reason St Ives Vanilla body lotion has been hard to find is because they were changing the packaging, I worried it was being discontinued, so I investigated lol. I like the old version scent better, i'm not sure if the formula has also been changed along with the look, but it just doesn't seem to be as strong and vanilla-y as before. I still love this product though, it is a softer more muted vanilla, smells alot like almond extract/almond sugar cookies. The scent also doesn't last very long at all.I must admit though that I love really sweet vanilla scents, and this is just not sweet enough for me anymore, but I will continue to buy for those days when I want a faint scented body lotion, and because it gives great moisturization, and doesn't make my sensitive skin rashy or itchy! It is a very thin lotion, but very smoothing and moisturizing, it leaves my skin very soft in the harsh cold Winnipeg winters standing at the bus stop daily in ice wind! I also like to apply at night before bed for its soft relaxing scent, I keep a huge 600ml bottle by my bed. I will use this even when I find a sweeter vanilla lotion. St Ives doesn't test on animals, doesn't contain animal ingredients, contains no parabens or phthalates.

I've gotta say, I really like this lotion. I just purchased a bottle yesterday and I'm pleased. I love any and everything vanilla. I really do have a vanilla problem. Anyway, buying this was a no brainer. When I first used it and pumped some into my hand I thought " uh oh " this looks too light. I have dry skin and live in New York City so at this time of year I need something extremely moisturizing. However when I rubbed it in, I found that the lotion actually does seep into my skin pretty well. It's rich in Vitamin E ( or so the bottle says ), and I felt a nice difference in the feel and appearance of my skin afterwards. The smell is the best part. It's a mature vanilla. Not too foody and buttercreamish, which can be soooo cloying after awhile. It's super soft and lightly lingers on your skin. It will not interfere with your fragrance if you wear one. Right of the bat, I knew I smelled something like it before. I just couldn't quite put my finger on it. It was driving me insane! Then it hit me! This lotion smells IDENTICAL to the " Va Va Vanilla" range from Ulta. I mean seriously, it's a dead ringer. The great thing about it is, this lotion is HALF the price. $4.49 (+ tax) for 18 oz. is a beautiful thing :) I will absolutely repurchase.

When I first opened the bottle I loved the smell. But as soon as I put it on, it was very sticky, and greasy. I thought the body wash was much better.

I have extremely sensitive skin. So I'm very careful what I put on my skin. This is an amazing body lotion. It moisturizes so well. I have dry skin and I also go tanning a lot so I need a good moisturizer! This sinks in, leaves no greasy residue. Makes me feel so soft. This smells so wonderful too. Its not a harsh smell. Its more of a soft, warm vanilla smell. I can usually find this on sale for 2.99 or 3.99. Amazing!

First of all i rated the price 1 = dirt cheap, but i have to pay about 3 times the amount it costs in the USA as I have to buy it on Ebay as you cant buy this lotion in the UK (argh!) lol but i do know that its really cheap in America so I rated it accordingly. First of all I love Vanilla, especially this type of vanilla scent, its a warm, creamy vanilla scent, i wouldnt say its too 'foody' just really nice and warm, the first second you rub it into your skin it smells really weird (at first i thought it had gone off) but it literally only lasts a few seconds, once its on the skin it settles into that gorgeous vanilla scent i described. It is moderately moisturising which is perfect for me as I dont have dry skin (maybe a tiny bit on my legs after shaving) but it might not be moisturising enough for people with dry skin. It sinks in straight away, as you rub it in it seems to feel really watery then it sinks in completely which i love as i hate feeling sticky, the scent also lasts quite well. I love the pump bottle as it saves having to get the bottle all greasy as you apply it, and i love how big the bottle is (especially with me having to buy it off ebay, it means i wont have to buy it that often) I layer it with my vanilla st ives body wash which you can buy in the UK aswell as the USA and like how it makes the vanilla scent last longer (as the bodywash scent doesnt last that long) So even though I have to pay about 3 times as much as people in the USA, its my HG body lotion and you do get such a lot for your money so i still think its good value. I would buy it again and again =)

I'm not one for vanilla smells, not because I don't like them, but I've always stuck to berries. I ran out of lotion and decided I wanted to give something new a try, I read the reviews for this lotion and decided to give it a go. I'm happy I did. It sunk into my skin right away, making my skin nice and soft.
The smell, it's decent, I do like it, but as I mentioned I'm not normally into vanilla, so I couldn't really compare it to others, but it doesn't smell too artificial, the after scent does slightly remind me of plastic, not enough to make me not enjoy the smell, but enough for me not to be super excited about it.
