I hate most musk scents but this doesnt annoy me because it's a light clean floral musk. I just wish it lasted longer.

Pleasant musk-lavender fragrance that's affordable, would please most clean/soapy or musk fans, and remarkably smells like drying linens. My skin always amlifies musk notes, which means that the lavender in this is toned down, and does not really smell like real lavender at all. It's sweet and floral and a bit unexpected in its prettiness. This fragrance shares some similarities with the underrated Lovely by SJP (I am weak for anything musk-heavy, so I AM biased), which also has a musk-lavender heart but with added warm patchouli notes bringing everything together. I'm torn on this one, as it's soapy and not really what I usually go for, but the musk note is truly pleasant. I probably won't buy a bottle, but I could use a decant.

I am so happy this is not working for me,as I have many new loves in perfume. It starts out a rubbery tire smell on me. Then I start sneezing, ah I do remember something about a tree,is that the lin tree???That I am allerigic too,I wonder if this is the same scent. But if it works for you it is a fresh light floral

A very nice light dry scent for outside and daytime wear. The most remarkable thing about this one is it can smell different on me at different times of day. I have worn it at night and it wants to smell more like a floral and musk scent than it does during the daytime. That makes it more unusual and different than most perfumes.

You know those early spring days where the sun is out but still cool, and the wind is blowing? That's Lin - that fresh, clean scent of the world in the spring. It's soothing and reviving at the same time. Comes in a huge bottle for about $35? $40 US, I believe. This is one of those HG scents that everyone can happily afford.

Clean smelling, but really not memorable, neither detergent nor soap-like. I love clean scents, but this did not really impress me or even interest me at all. It actually reminded me of facial toner, with a little bit of alcohol in it, and overall, bland. It disappeared quickly anyway, so I don't think I will miss it when my sample runs out.

Light ~fresh ~clean. Does not burn the hairs of one's nostrils! ... like some other soapy clean scents do. This is missing the creamy middle I like to find in clean soapies. It's too gentle and too mild. I could be persuaded to buy this if it came in a big ole bath kit with bath gel, body butter, talc, hand lotion and parfum. (I've gotten rather spoiled this winter with my latest craze *Bath Kits*) I have no patience for scents that fade so quickly as this one does. Pretty? Yes. Very.

If you want a nice easy clean and fresh scent, then this is the one to get. It is very affordable plus you are guaranteed not to smell this on everyone else!
I agree with everyone's comments below. It does smell like fresh linens dried in the Provence sun. A simple, casual scent perfect for everyday wear. Only rant is that it doesn't last long on my skin.

Smells very clean, but a little too much like soap for me. Would smell great on linens or as a room scent, but don't necessarily know if I want to smell like it! Lasting power is maybe two hours...

This truly does smell like freshly washed linens! Clean, soapy (to the point of practically smelling of Tide), with just a hint of lilac and musk (though the literature says lavander and not lilac, I don't get that -- this is verry verrry similar to Alfred Sung's Sha or Langiappe Oaks Lilac & Lace). This is pretty much the opposite of my tastes (abhor soapy scents) but it is still pretty and I imagine it would make a fantastic, refreshing scent for ones whose preferences leaned that way.

I bought a small decanter of this on ebay (had never smelled it before) and I must say that I do like it a lot. It's light & fresh. Only drawback is that it doesn't last long, but oh well... most of the scents I wear don't...

This fragrance piqued my interest due to the fact that it boasts lavendar and musk as primary notes. There is not much more I can add that hasn't already been mentioned. This is a very clean beautful scent. The only drawback is that I wish that it lingered longer. I took off one lippie for that.

I purchased this unsniffed and am so glad I did. It is lavender and musk, but not the lavender that leans toward the herby side. This is very clean and fresh, and reminds me of the smell of freshly shampooed hair. It comes in a huge (6.4 oz) splash bottle. The lasting power is just so so, but if you decant into an atomizer and spray your clothes and hair, it will stay with you all day. I also layer this with the Lin lotion, which helps its staying power!

I love this fresh and pure scent. I like to use it in the evening before going to bed. It's tender and reassuring. I wear in during the day when I just want to smell good. As I just bought it, I did not experience it in summer, but I can imagine that it's a perfect summer scent.

Côté Bastide Lin, according to the copy posted on Aedes.com, is "a light and clean scent of lavender and musk, which evoke the unmistakably fresh smell of clean linens, air-dried in the warm sun of the Provence." This scent truly does smell like French linens that were washed in lavender laundry soap and then hung to dry. The lavender is very light and perfectly balanced with the musk, so that the musk keeps the lavender from dominating, and the lavender keeps the musk dry and crisp rather than humid and animalic. The overall impression is clean, fresh, and pure. It's not a sophisticated scent, but it's not meant to be. I would give it five lipsticks, except the staying power isn't the greatest (Aedes sells it in an EDT "splash"). Still, for lovers of clean fragrances, this one's a keeper.
