I got this as part of a job lot on eBay. May be the perfume has turned... because it has a very sharp citrusy note that is just yuck! I have smelled this note before: from bottles of perfumes that had turned (e.g. a v old bottle of Les Belles De Ricci Liberty Fizz which I love v much). Some perfume manufacturers produce perfumes that still smell gorgeous after sitting around for decades, why can't this do the same? I notice that many perfumes with citrusy notes that were created in the nineties and noughties are discontinued - could this be part of the reason? That they don't stay nice for v long? My bottle is now binned.

This was one of the first designer fragrances I purchased, so it was a favorite for a long time. I normally gravitate toward crisp, fresh, citrus scents, and this has a bit of that mixed in with something very sweet and almost foody, almost like a mix between Fresh Lemon Sugar and Aquolina Pink Sugar, though not as nice as either. The overall scent is nice but a bit too bland and sweet for my current taste. This was discontinued some time ago, though there are still plenty of bottles floating around for purchase online.

I've just had the displeasure of trying this. It was quite a displeasure indeed. I tried all 3 Oblique scents. They were all sad. One of them smelled like licorice, the other like stale cherry cigar. I had to wash myself off with dishwashing soap because I just couldn't wait to take a shower. Just.. ewwwwwwwwww.

I don't think they make this anymore. I got a 3-set at a duty free airport (sad I know). This was only my 2nd favorite. It had lemon and praline so it was fresh but a little sweet. It was good but I like FF more.

Smells like orange in a musk base. Nice enough, but not complex or interesting.

I remember reading, when this first came out, that Oblique "Play" was based on a fizzy lemon soda --effervescent, refreshing, just sweet enough. Having used this fragrance on and off for the last two years, I would have to concur with that description. It definitely bears a resemblance to Fresh Sugar -- which I also enjoy -- in that it opens with a flair of zesty lemon and then dries down to a candy-ish base (of praline, merengue and caramel, according to the "offical" rundown of notes.) Unfortunately, like Fresh Sugar, it has weak lasting power and long-term presence, which is a shame because the combination of lemony and sweet really appeals to me. Anyway, I like this for very hot weather and may repurchase at some point in the future.

Oblique Play is a strange citrus fragrance - to me it smells very similar to tang, or perhaps flintstones vitamins. Very fakey orange and tangy.
