In the tube, the colour seems to be my perfect shade of intense red for evening dinners - The marilyn monroe red. But when applied, the colour is a sheer coat of very moisturising red tint. Almost like BENEtint.

I bought this item before benetint was launched. Thus, this product served as my "cherry lip stain". Whenever I wear this, my guy friends would always comment that i have very natural looking- kissable-red- child-like lips.

I am very disappointed in this lipstick. Had to apply several coats just to get it to show up, is waxy, wears off easily and on an aesthethic note, the packaging allows for finger smudges to be seen and that looks tacky. As for the colour itself, I do not even like it ... on me an orange/rust/brown. Sorry to be the voice of dissent....

This is a gorgeous red lipstick. I like the fact that the colour isn't overwhelming as it's quite sheer and very wearable EXCEPT for me. I have come to the conclusion that red lipsticks are just not for me. No matter which red lipstick I try on, and no matter how great the red colour is, it just doesn't compliment my skintone. That being said, I have to say that this is one of the most wearable reds out there in the market. Those ladies who love reds and those who look gorgeous in them, I would ask them to DEFINITELY try this one! It's a gorgeous shade of red - very sophisticated and glamorous, rather than tacky and cheap.

Finally, a red that I can wear with confidence! It goes on really sheer, and it has amazing quality. Moisturizing, staying power not bad and the colour is simply gorgeous. I am really loving it, as with all Armani products I own.

This lipstick looks absolutely INSANE in the tube -- a bright neon red. WAIT! NO! Don't stop reading. Usually, when people say something looks insanely bright in the tube but "it really does go on sheer!", I find that not to be the case. But this one REALLY DOES. It's amazing how soft it looks once it's on the lips. Still bright, but in a "wow, it's brightening my whole face" kind of way, not a "OMG, I look like an absolute harlot" kind of way. I have even worn this color to work -- it's that subtle, and you won't believe me when you see it in the tube, but you will when you put it on. :) BUY IT! It's a true red shade that would look great on many different skin tones.

This is one awesome red lipstick! In the tube, it's a scary bright (almost neon) red. But on my not-so-pigmented lips, it's a fresh, true red that brightens my light olive complexion. I love how the colour's sheer but saturated; and I love how it makes my lips appear fuller and plumper with a slight juicy shine. The texture of the lipstick is moisturizing but close to weightless, and leaves a lovely natural stain when it wears off. It's quite expensive for a lipstick, but for a great red I could wear day or night and moisturizes...I'd certainly repurchase!

I love this lipstick. It is slick and shiny and the bright red colour is great for day or night. I like to use this if I've gone heavy on the eye make-up but still want to wear red lips. Because it is sheer, the colour pigment is not too intense but still gives a lick of bright colour without being overpowering. The only downside is that it does have to be reapplied frequently.

Despite being a very scary bright red in the tube, this goes on a beautiful sheer pinky red on my blue-toned pigmented lips. It is quite a neutral tone, neither too cool nor too warm, and really fresh-looking. It certainly livens up my whole face. There is just the right degree of shine, no annoying scent and it is a very comfortable feeling lipstick. The only reason I don't give it top marks is that, although it doesn't bleed over the lipline, it needs to be reapplied frequently. Still, my new favourite - and I'm *very* fussy!

I bought this at the same time as my sister-in-law did; this stayed true to color on her (warm PPP, very pale lips). Very pretty, true red. I'm a cool PPP and have highly pigmented lips, and this looked somewhat pink on me. Not a true pink, not a true red. Tried different blushes to play up the red, to no avail. As other reviewers said, don't expect the eye-popping shade in the tube to show up on your lips; this is relatively sheer. Pretty w/ GA lipliner #9. I'm deducting one lippie for lack of staying power; GA Sheers must be reapplied very frequently.

This is a staple for me. It's the one to reach for when you are definitely in a hurry in the morning. Very easy color to wear. My previous fave was MAC Shhh, but this has a better formulation and I love the natural look on my lips. I tried Kevyn Aucoin's version which is Dantique and it was way too pigmented for me. I love GA sheer lipsticks! It's like lipgloss effect but better!

I hate to be the only person saying they wouldn't buy this again but it doesn't look as good on me (a cool ppp) as it does on my friend who is a warm ppp. It is a gorgeous, transparent red but it's not really worth the price for me. I've liked other lippies better on my pink toned skin.

Wow, the texture of this lipstick is amazing, it feels moisturizing like a lipbalm and I love that it has no scent or taste (take note Laura Mercier). It has made me want to buy more Armani lipsticks.
The colour is nice, a cherry red, although it can look pink on my warm-toned PPP skin.
The worst thing is the price: £14 in the UK.

Oh I love this stuff!!! It looks almost garish in the tube but it glides on so silky smooth and sheer. This is a perfect red lipstick for me! I am cool toned, LLL, dark hair and eyes. It feels so light on my lips but I still feel like they're moisturized. It doesn't last all day but I love to pull out the sleek black tube to reapply and have other women ask me what kind of lipstick I am using. I want more GA stuff!!!

This is the lipstick to wear if you want to brighten up your face without looking like you're trying too hard. A very low maintenance look despite the fact that it's a scary fire engine red in the tube. Goes on very sheer and moist and not very pigmented. But makes a difference and leaves a nice red stain. What I reach for when I only have a minute to look better.

I am a PPP with pale lips and a red lisptick lover. I am not timid with red shades- I wear everything from fire-engine red to dark cherry and quite contrary to a few other reviewers I think this contains enough pigment. It also doesn't turn pink on me, but I rarely have that problem (my lips are pale). The shade can be compared to Stila's clear red Sport Clear Color lipstick, but I find that the Armani lippie looks glossier, the finish is more moist. It might be a nice substitute though if you can't afford the Armani price-tag. This lipstick is perfect if you want to try a red lip look, but are too shy for intense, creamy matte ones. Like all Armani lipsticks it is taste- and scent-free, a big plus in my book! Unfortunately like all sheer lippies this doesn't last too long on your lips. This has definitely become a staple with me!

I was at first slightly disappointed with this lipstick as I thought it was a true, fire engine red and it was red enough on the back of my hand. However, when I applied it on my lips, it was a bright cherry pink red and I was getting ready to hate it when I noticed, it did brighten up my face and looked darn good after all. I think it was my naturally pigmented lips that brought out more of the pink in this lipstick and granted it was a look that I wouldn't have picked out myself, I am pleased with this lipstick. As usual, great Armani texture, sleek packaging and hideously expensive pricing (retails for AU$45). Would repurchase but still hunting for my HG sheer true red.

Wow! What a wonderful product and what a to die for color! The girls below me have said it all perfectly, there is not much left for me to add. ;) This is my HG sheer true red!
This retails for $22.00 and comes in a sleek, chic black case. Can only be found at select Saks and the Armani store in the Bellagio store in Vegas. Don't think about it, just get it. You will thank us.

I agree with everything that Big Eder said in her review. This color looks scary deep red in the tube but on my lips it is a beautiful sheer cherry popsicle color. Because there is alot of shine in this lipstick you can blot your lips for more staying power and a gorgeous muted red stain. I really think this is a red that would look good on anyone. Love this color!!

OMG, I just got this in a swap today and I already know that this is it for me and sheer red lipsticks (well, till new ones come out I have to try, of course!), this is my HG. It's amazing. Looks bright cherry red in the tube and goes on this amazing silky, sheer yet really pigmented cherry red. It livens up my whole face unlike *any* other lipstick I've ever tried. It's not shiny, but it leaves a nice sheen, which is more to my taste anyway. Must now try other colors!

Great sheer, moist red lippie, with lots of pigment. Packaging is matt black and very chic. Leaves a light stain, which is nice. Lasts about I hour without touch-up. Looking for their Spring colours! Great find though expensive at $21.
