Reminds a little of the YSL Matt Touch primer, and Cliniques Pore minimizer. This is almost like a "mousse", or lightweight cream... Minimizes pores.
The shades were a little hard for me, I'm a NC15/NW15....tried the ivory 0,5, that was too light for me, but the Ivory 1 was too dark.... but I could solve that by mixing them! If i'd like the formula.
This accentured my dry flaws... I have acne-prone skin, that is dry on some areas cause of all the treatments...So I often have dry patches and flaws here and there.... This accentured those!! AND it was really poor in coverage, felt tight and dry on the face...
I don't know if I would breakout, cause didn't like it much enough to give it a longrun try, but I'll maybe try it out more later ....
For now: I'm going on with the search.... ;)

This is the first foundation I've tried/used from the Mary Kay line in years. A friend of mine sells the brand and, since I am always on the hunt for the "next best foundation", I was determined to find one in MK that would work for me. The color range in this line is so inconsistent, but that's another story/review. I'm NC44 in MAC but I find that in the liquid foundation, MK's darkest beige offering is too light for me, but Bronze 1 is too dark, which is how I settled on the Cream-to-Powder formula because there is a Bronze 0.5 available in it, which works for me. I use a damp sponge to apply it, and when I first swipe it on it reeks of yellow (which has left me questioning my true undertone lately). Once I blend it all out it actually looks decent. It wears well on me throughout the day. I have a little oiliness in my T-zone, and I find that I need to touch it up a couple of times during the day with my MAC Blot Powder, but it's nothing major and is not unlike every other foundation I have used. UPDATE: I tried this foundation in Beige 4 and think it works better than Bronze 0.5, which has really turned out to be too yellow for me.

I bought this after going to MK party and loving how it looked on my skin! It has the best coverage of anything I've tried. It can look a little cakey, you have to blend it diligently and use sparingly for a more natural look. My biggest issue with this foundation is the feel, it's not as light as a powder. It didn't make me break out or irritate my skin, but I do have to blot more often when I wear it. Because it takes so much effort to blend, even as a perfect match, it's not conducive to my morning rush for work. Not my favorite for every day wear, but it's my go to when I want a lot of coverage, i.e., that time of the month, or special occasions, so I always keep it on hand. I have oily skin and this won't slide off, even if I forget primer. Like the finish once it's well-blended, it's not as dull as a powder. The other major issue is the packaging, you would think MK could put it in something better than that annoying, cheap tin! After a few applications it starts getting awkward, and so much falls over the side.

I've been using Mary Kay's Cream-to-Powder Foundation off and on since I began wearing makeup. I always come back to it because I prefer a cream-to-powder foundation, and although I usually buy DS products, cream-to-powder foundations seem to go in and out of vogue, so this one's reliable.
Most of the complaints about this foundation that I'm seeing on other reviews seem to be a result of applying the foundation with a dry sponge. Every MK lady I've ever seen apply this insists that you need to apply it with a damp sponge, and that's how I apply it. When you apply with a damp sponge, the foundation goes on sheer, is super blendable, and dries to a matte finish that looks natural and flawless. It's honestly one of the best foundations I've found for controlling or minimizing oil on my t-zone.
As another reviewer noted, if you have any dry skin on your face, this foundation will emphasize it. However, that's been true of any cream-to-powder foundation I've ever used.
That being said, I one complaint of my own to add ;) It takes me forever (years, sometimes) to use up a foundation, and when I repurchased this recently, I was very displeased with the current packaging. The thin plastic "compact" is obviously meant to be a toss-away, making it almost necessary to purchase MK's compact, which I refuse to do. The old compact wasn't attractive, but it was at least sturdy and easy to use, which this is not. Also, I can't be certain, but I'm fairly sure there is less product in the new compact. While that's not a problem since I use very little, the price certainly hasn't gone down to reflect this. Still, MK's foundations are still comparable in price to the better DS foundations.

This stuff stays on my face so well, but that's almost a bad thing. It's difficult to get off w/o having to scrub my face to death, and even after that I wipe my face with some astringent and I still see foundation coming off on the wipe. It provides excellent coverage. It's thick and kinda difficult to blend/spread onto your face, so I end up using alot to cover my whole face, and that makes me look I'm fake and wearing make-up; so I have to be very careful applying this. Also, if my face has any dry patches, this stuff will accentuate them. It gives a very matte finish which I like, and I don't have to apply powder on top. I won't buy this stuff again because it's expensive (to me) for something that doesn't doesn't work well for me; I also have no idea if it's non-comedogenic, and that scares me so I don't use it very often.
Basically, if you have oily skin and are looking for a long-wearing matte-finish foundation and aren't a cheapo like me, this stuff may work well for you.
UPDATE: I tried what the person said in the comment above mine about using a damp cosmetic sponge, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY! The foundation still dried to a powdery finish and accentuated my one little dry spot, but it was much easier to apply and looked almost flawless :) Maybe now I'll consider repurchasing!

My face loves this foundation.. My face is ivory (I am NC20 on MAC) It lasts long on my face and gives a good coverage. It also gives a natural and flawless look on me like i haven't put anything. It minimizes my pores and I still look fresh at the end of the day! This foundation doesn't appear cakey. Though, I need to set it with a powder foundation because my face gets oily when I put it on alone. I will definitely buy this product again. Its worth the price!

I do like this foundation. I'm Ivory 2. It covers a lot on my face which is good because I need the coverage. If you have oily skin like me, you might want to top it off with the Mary Kay loose or pressed powder. This foundation lasts all day for me.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Combination, Fair-Medium Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue
I like it, it smells nice and leaves a natural look.
But i prefer the liquid foundation.

I love this foundation!! I am very fair (N3 in MAC, Extra Light in Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer) and Ivory 1 was a great match. This foundation actually helps minimize my large pores and even out the redness from rosacea. My skin looks soft not matte or spackled. It has not broken me out and I've been using it for about a month but I do use a new wedge sponge each time, reusing sponges is bad especially if you're acne prone. I wish it came in a compact but I don't carry it with me so it's not a huge deal.
Age: 30-35 Skin: Acne-prone, Fair, Cool Hair: Blond Eyes: Green
This foundation is so so bad for acne prone skin. It will clog your pores like nothing else. Not to mention the fact that it comes off on EVERYTHING!! Although the colors are ok for fair skin, the damage it does to my skin is so not worth it!!

Like the reviewer below me said, this is the best cream to powder foundation I have tried. it makes my complexion look really smooth because it does a wonderful job of smoothing over pores. It wears really well - after hours of wear it still looks fresh & doesn't slide around. You can sheer it out using a sponge, or build it up by applying with fingers. when I use this I do not need to use a separate concealer. Unlike other cream to powder foundations, it never highlights dry patches on my skin. The color (Ivory 1) matches my NC 15 skin really well. I'm convinced that this looks better on than most foundations I have tried (high end) because when I wore this my husband said "your skin is looking really perfect, that is a great foundation you're wearing today." So, it must look pretty good!
The negative about this (which means I probably won't purchase again): it has parabens. lots of them. high up on the ingredient list. Use this & you'll be putting a lot of parabens in your system esp. if you use it daily. The other problem is you have to order it through a Mary Kay lady, which is often risky because they can be really agressive & pushy. But if you don't mind that & don't mind parabens, this is a great inexpensive foundation!

This is not only the BEST cream to powder foundation I've ever tried, its the ONLY one that has ever worked nicely! This foundation gives a medium to full coverage, blends beautifully into your skin, leaving a nice velvety matte finish. I apply this with my fingers instead of a sponge because it blends better, also I feel I get more coverage that way. I do still set this lightly with powder, just to set it and make sure it lasts all day on my oily skin (and it does). This is like Mary Kay's version of an High Def makeup, it really gives a flawless appearance. It's not caky or gunky like other cream to powder formulas. I use shade Ivory 1. The shades look a little dark in their compacts, but they do apply a bit lighter than they look. Also, this does not oxidize on my skin through out the day, the color stays very true. This is actually one of the best foundations I've ever used, even better than Bobbi, MAC, MUFE, etc. I'm very happy with this, as with most Mary Kay products.

I just purchased this and so far I love it. It says it has fragrance but I do not smell anything at all and so far it has not itched me or given me a rash like others with perfume. Gives great coverage and goes on easily, stays all day. I apply with fingertips then blend with a sponge. My skin is normal to dry and very sensative. I use the lightest color which is .5 and it is a beautiful cool color that will def not make you look pasty. Since I am dry I do not apply any powder over. If you are oily you might want to. UPDATE: as usual, this eventually broke me out in a rash :(

Its all about APPLICATION with this product. The KEY to applying this product is using a damp sponge. (spritz with water , or toner)
I am a tinted moisturizer/light foundation type of gal. I get breakouts on my chin that leave horrible red marks. This foundation covers it all and makes me look poreless! I only use it for special occasions or night time because Im not 100% sure if it looks completely natural in direct sunlight. It doesnt irritate my sensitive skin or aggravate acne issues, covers well and makes me look poreless ( and I have alot of enlarged pores in my t-zone). I will definitely repurchase and will update on my daytime usage.

I wanted to give this product a 5, but had to go down one because the last two I bought were hard (not smooth at all). The first one I got back in 2007 was AMAZING. It was SILKY SMOOTH (which is a deal breaker for me) and made my skin look flawless!! I was in love :)
However, the next one I purchased was horrible. The total opposite as the one I had before! Texture was totally crap. So I ordered another hoping for the best, but no. After those incidents, I tried numerous drug store foundations and wasn't pleased.
I was skeptical about purchasing a THIRD creme-to-powder foundation from Mary Kay after the first two were total crap. SO, I put some of my everyday face lotion on it and mixed it in. Yes, IN the foundation. And it's actually been working pretty well. I have to add more every 3 days or so, but it's been pretty good. It's like I've made it back like the first one I got :)
I envy those who get lucky with a smooth formula in this creme-to-powder foundation!!

its a good powder, it goes on smooth and looks natural. it doesn't make me break out, but since i have oily skin it doesn't last on me :(

I absolutely love this foundation. It gives me awesome coverage. I can get sheer to medium coverage which is what I desire. It gives me a natural glowing look. I have combo skin. I have been using it in the fall and winter. However, I am not quite sure I will be able to use it in the summer b/c I get oily in the summer and usually have to change my moisturizers and foundations. If you are looking for a natural coverage that makes your skin look flawless try this product.
Age: 19-24 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium Hair: Brunette Eyes: Blue
This is an awesome cream to powder foundation. It looks amazing on and it covers up all my imperfections. It lasts pretty much all day and doesn't look cakey on. I will definately continue to buy this foundation. Its amazing!
Age: 25-29 Skin: Combination, Fair Hair: Red, Wavy, Coarse Eyes: Blue
This is a great foundation with great coverage. I don't have problems with it settling into fine lines, either. My bet is that it might not perform as well for those with oily skin, however.
