Am using this as a night oil before I go to bed I put it onto my damp combo skin. Working much better then many expensive night creams. My skin is hydrated and plumped in the morning and my open pores and blackheads are looking much healthier. Works much better than the granatapple night cream.

I'd never thought an oil would help my sensitive, oily and congested skin so much. I apply this to damp skin morning and night, and it sinks right in to leave the must beautiful glow and seems to fade scars from old blemishes.
The first time I tried it my skin actually broke out and got pretty irritated, which scared me off the product for a while. But ever since it's given me wonderful results. I'm pretty sure it prevents new blemishes from forming and even the stubborn white heads on my jawline has vanished significantly. I've used it for one month now and it's been so calming through the extremely cold weather. The bottle will last a long time and for the price it's really a bargain. Love Weleda's natural ingredients and cute packaging too.

I'm pretty sure this is saving my skin at the moment! Since becoming pregnant I have suffered extremely painful dry skin on my face. I bought a bunch of Weleda products in the hope that I could finally moisturize my skin - some of them are better than others, with Skin Food and Almond Facial Oil being the real standouts. I pat this on morning and evening immediately after toning (DHC Mild Lotion) or spraying with Avene Spring Water to lock in moisture. I even put it on my T-zone - my skin really doesn't have any of its own oil right now and needs it!! This keeps my skin comfortable all day and night when layered with Skin Food. I am very happy with this light oil - it hasn't broken me out and it makes my moisturizer much more effective. It's saved my skin!!

Got this based off the reviews and because I like Weleda products. I like their packaging, philosophy, and minimal ingredients. I have combo skin which has recently turned drier. I did not find this super moisturizing as compared to jojoba oil which I have used for years. The two are about the same. A lot of people here said they use it as a eye makeup remover, but I did this twice and it gave me milia seeds! That has not happened with e. virgin olive oil, the jojoba oil, or vaseline. It really turned me off this product for awhile, but I've just used this on my regular face. It is a decent product, but for $25CAD for 50ml, I would not repurchase since I can find less expensive and just as good alternatives.

I tried the almond line from Weleda in wintertime, hoping to give my dry skin something nourishing and calming.
The description said that you could mix this oil with the almond cream to get a rich skincare.
I mixed the oil with the almond cream and the results were deastrous on my skin.
This product caused me serious perioral dermatitis and itching, flaking skin.
I scratched my face while I slept, it was so horrible. Finally, I had to go to the dermatologist and use antibiotic cream for my face.
I never found out, what really caused this reaction. Was it the combination of oils? The plum oil? The combination wiht the cream?
I suggest you decide if your skin can tolerate the combination of oils or not.
It´s not that my skin doesn´t like oils at all or that I neve tried out oils for my skin. Most oils are good for my skin as long as they are not comedogenic. I use an almond oil based body lotion and it works beautifully for my skin. I use wild rose oil and jojoba oil on my face and they both are really good for my skin.
I could be the exception to the rule as many reviewers love this oil, but this one literally destroyed my skin.

No just No, broke me out. It might work for some people but no it just did not work for moi. Broke out with tiny pimples, white heads and blackheads, scratching my face while typing this review.

Hate this product, I used to have beautiful perfect skin with one or two blackheads a month, no blemishes. Until I used this thing, nothing but a steaming pile of cow poo.

This is great and is very gentle for my spotty skin.

I use it as a moisturiser on days when it's either very cold outside (oil protects against harsh weather conditions) or if I'm very spotty as I find this oil rather soothing. I always apply it to a damp face so that it absorbs easier. It doesn't make me greasy and it doesn't feel as rich/heavy as the body shop's vitamin e facial oil which I also like. 3 drops of oil is perfect for the face and neck.


Some days I like to give my face a massage with this oil. I apply 10 drops of it to a thouroughly cleansed face and massage for about a minute. This feels sooooo good for my face and when I'm done I tissue it off and then apply a serum on top to seal in all the moisture. My face feels soft and smooth for two days.


I haven't tried it as an eye makeup remover cause my mascara can be removed by only using water. Also, you get a lot of product for the price so it's not that expensive :)

After liking the almond cleansing lotion and face lotion, I decided to give this a shot. I really like it! It doesn't smell like anything, it absorbes nicely and calms down my skin. The bottle is reasonably priced $25 CAD for 50 ml, I call it reasonable because I've spent not much less for a fifth of the size of other products that I reacted to. In terms of hydration, it's pretty good. I still have a few dry patches, that's why 4 lippies, but I'm sure with continued use it'll go away (it's only been 4 days). I use it at night instead of a moisturizer, mostly because at night I'd rather use an oil or nothing at all to let my skin breathe and renew itself. During the day, I put it under the lotion because the lotion alone I don't find hydrating enough. All in all, using all 3 almond products has made my skin look less red..this includes the few pimples and irritated bumps I had from previous products. I don't even really wear make up anymore besides a little concealer. I will definitely be using this every winter since my skin produces enough oil in the summer.

UPDATE (02/10/12): still loving this. I've started using it in my hair and it's worked wonders! I apply it to the ends when it's still wet (3-4 drops), brush through, dry, and apply when fully dry to my ends (1-2 drops). I recently stripped my hair so it's extremely dead at the ends. I have fairly straight, fine hair and this does not make my hair greasy :)

love it! i have inflamation and super sensitive skin in the winter, it itchy like crazy when you touch it or expose to the wind. i use this and it calms it down really well. it didnt break me out or anything. I use coconut oil underneat to minimize the redness and 1 drop of this oil. HEAVEN!

WHAT IS IT? Facial moisturizing oil
INGREDIENTS: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Prunus Domestica (Plum) Seed Oil, Prunus Spinosa (Blackthorn) Flower Extract.

HOW DOES IT PERFORM? This is basically sweet almond oil with plum seed oil added primarily to enhance fragrance. (although the only true discernible fragrance is a slight marzipan odour that dissipates in seconds) This is a mixed product for me since it hydrates very well and I can use this on the odd occasion when my skin is especially dried out but daily usage would cause breakouts for me and also would potentially cause a seborrheic dermatitis flare as sweet almond oil has a high percentage of oleic acid, which is implicated in feeding the fungus which causes seborrheic dermatitis. While I love the cobalt blue glass bottle this comes in and appreciate Weleda's excellent track record with providing cruelty-free products, equally green Aura Cacia offers an organic Sweet Almond Oil (sans the fragrance ingredients) for the much more economical sum of $6 CAD
WOULD YOU BUY AGAIN? No - my current bottle will last ages given my infrequent use of this product and the Aura Cacia organic (not regular) almond oil would be my likely purchase due to cost savings next time I need sweet almond oil
PRICE: $24.50 CAD for 50ml

I like the thought of putting natural oils on my face even though I have acne-prone, sensitive skin. I feel as if my breakouts get worse with dry skin. When I keep it hydrated, my skin feels and looks much better.

Anyway, I've used jojoba oil for a couple of months, but I felt as if it never absorbed into the skin. I saw the great reviews on olive oil, so naturally I tried it and found it to be a big mistake. It made me breakout like crazy. Straight up vitamin E oil makes me break out too, and they felt similar.

So when I decided to try sweet almond oil, I was extremely wary, but Im glad I did! It absorbs very well into the skin and it doesn't make me look shiny at all, which jojoba did. It's a little bit hard to spread, so I have to warm it up in my hand. Weleda's almond oil is not pure almond oil, there are other oils mixed in as well, but they are not known to be irritants. It's very calming and moisturizing. Everyone with acne should try this as opposed to harsh, drying acne treatments. I had a problem with my dry skin flaking under my powder foundation, which looked disgusting. With almond oil as my moisturizer, my skin looks soft and smooth with or without foundation.

Everyone should definitely try this as a facial moisturizer! Also, the bottle is great! The dark, glass bottle should ensure potency, and it's leak proof!

Almond oil is perfect for the area around the eyes. I use it for removing eye make up, for nourishing my eyelashes and as a dark circle treatment! I also use it on my decolette because the area there is also very sensitive. Weleda's oil is very good quality. I also love the packaging, dark glass bottles are preserving the products the best way possible. Also the bottle has a dropper, which makes it easier to control the needed amount of product.

Definitely soothes and does not cause my oily/combo skin break out. Calms, nourishes and moisturizes. I actually think it helps me not break out. It is not strong enough to be a rich moisturizer for chapped, flaky winter skin, but I read that oils aren't meant to do that anyway. However, it's more moisturizing than oil free gel-like moisturizers. I notice red, inflamed areas are less so. Also, I like the texture and feel of oils more than creams. Price wise, it's not the cheapest, but it's not the most expensive either.

IME, Weleda's Almond Line, while indicated for sensitive skin, is for sensitive skin of the drier inclination. This product falls into suiting that category--DRY, sensitive skin.

I have sensitive skin, it's drier underneath but gets oily fast, (which I'm happy with because after a bout of cracked, dry skin this winter, I'll take my oily skin any day over dry). That said, I still use an oil on my skin around my eye area. I picked this up because it's EO free, great for when nearly anything is aggrivating my face and it feels richer and more protective than my stand-by EVOO. I have great results beneath my eyes; often my cheeks need some extra oil this does the trick, no breakouts and a little goes a very long way. This oil is rich, richer than my SWO alone. The ingredients are simple--SWO, plum kernel oil, and blackthorn extract. Great for sensitive skin and when my skin is reactive and needs an oil richer than my stand-by EVOO. I use it for those occasions, sticking with EVOO for liberal use as it's a tad lighter.

Would absolutely repurchase.

THIS IS THE BES THING EVER.

I am obsessed with this. It keeps my skin calm, moisturized, & protected. I have breakout prone skin that is combo to dry at the moment. This oil soothes out my dryness, isn't greasy or too much on my more normal spots, & actually helps get rid of breakouts!!! My skin has never felt so soft & happy. I am in love.

I've already purchased this a second time after using up my first bottle. I love the packaging too, it dispenses just the right amount of product for my face & neck. I wear this every day under my moisturizer, & also use it as a serum under my face masks occasionally. It's amazing. Nothing would help my skin this winter & I was going crazy, but Weleda saved the day again!!

It's a little expensive, but worth every single pretty penny. I love Weleda's ethical & biodynamic practices as well, so I'm more than willing to pay a little more for them. Especially with results like this.

I have never met a Weleda product I didn't like, & the Almond Soothing Facial Oil is no exception. A must for sensitive skin havers.

Waste of money. Hated it. Picked it up at Whole Foods for $20 - total impulse buy. *le sigh* Basically, got suckered in by the *organic* and *made in Switzerland* tag line. I had better luck with my $5 gargantuan jar of made in Mexico Nivea.

The Almond oil did nothing and smelled like ... motor oil. At the very least, shouldn't it smell like almonds? On the box it says you can use the oil as both an eye makeup remover ($20 for a tiny bottle of makeup remover?!) AND moisturizer. Except it does not moisturize. Maybe it removes makeup but since I don't wear any, I don't know.

The best thing I can say about the Almond oil is that it didn't break me out horribly. But I can't justify the $20 price tag for what it *didn't* do.

But as unremarkable as the product itself was, the packaging was worse. The glass bottle has a plastic ... stopper thingamajig so that after much vigorous shaking, one or two drops pop out and usually lands on the floor. Disgusted, I yanked off the plastic thingy and just poured the oil on my hands and ended up with too much. The bottle however is a very pretty shade of midnight blue, the only good thing about the entire fiasco.

I love this product but mainly as a m/u remover, not so much as a moisturizer. it removes my m/u without effort and leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. i first apply the oil, massage it in a lil bit and then remove it with a a cotton pad, soaked in warm water. follow up with toner and some moisturizer.
i do use it as a moisturizer if i have very dry skin during winter, but only during the night. this stuff is no good for me as a daytime moisturizer cause it's no good as a m/u base. but at night it's allright.
overall a good multi-purpose product. i sometimes use this as a serum for my hair aswell and it does a good job. nice little bottle to have standing around!

If you have dry, sensitive, flaky, dull skin go and buy this right NOW!!! First of all I have to say that my skin in the winter is like a disaster- it is so dry and flaky, also red.. I couldnt wear any foundation as my skin was so flaky. I was so desperate, didn`t know what to do. I already used a moisturizing cream from pharmacy but it did not help so I thought I have to stay with this awful looking skin forever.
So I came on this site and read all the positive reviews on this site and decided to give it a try. It was around 20 dollars, here were I live, so I was hesitating a little while I was in the store.
However I am so happy that I bought it!! Right after the first application my skin already looked much better!!! I was sooo delighted! After using it for 2 days my skin is sooo pretty! This product is worth every penny!
If you have REALLY dry skin and you feel like nothing helps, give this product a try!!! It works miracles!
Definitely going to repurchase!

this product just didn't work with my skin.
I have combination/normal skin and this winter i wanted something more moisturizing. after cleansing my face at night i applied two drops of SAO with aloe vera gel. each morning i woke up with new, small red blemishes.
Maybe this product works better for very dry skin, but not mine. Not worth using if it causes blemishes :(
FYI- product has very little scent and comes in a glass bottle that drips out only a verrrry tiny amount at a time. The label says it can be used on combination skin, but caused blemishes for me

I found out about Weleda Almond Facial Oil on this site, and thought I'd give it a try based on reviews. I have very oily yet sensitive skin, prone to break-outs, and wanted to try something new and natural after a horrible break-out after using Bare Escentuals Primer (will never use anything with dimethicone in it again!).

I worried an oil would be too slick, but this soaks in nicely and makes my face feel well-hydrated, not taut like some other lotions made for oily skin. This is a great value and I like that it's all natural without chemicals. Will definitely continue using it!
