DO NOT BUY THIS MASCARA!!! This is the worst mascara I have ever tried and is a total waste of money. Firstly it took several attempts to see anything at all and then all that happened was a little colour (prune) at the roots with still nothing at the tips! I had to wipe the wand over the back of my hand to make sure there was actually some wet mascara on it and it wasn't just all dried up on the brush. By the time I'd finished (luckily I wasn't going anywhere) I had tiny flecks of mascara under my eyes and horrible sticky feeling lashes which looked awfull. I went to the bathroom to immediately take it off - yes it does come off easily - and then threw the mascara in the bin which is where it deserves to be. Save your money and buy something else.

Crap in a tube. Fun way to take it off, but thats the only thing you would want to do with this... take it off.

Ugh. I bought this in purple/violet/whatever and it sucks. The color would be gorgeous, if it came off of the brush!! The formula is like putty! It doesn't come off of the brush onto my lashes. What the hell.

This gave me longer lashes but I had to put on several coats to see volume or thickness. Not much curl. Didn't flake off until real late at night. This mascara is nothing special, but it's not the worst one I've ever tried.

I bought the auburgine shade thinking Lancome was a really good cosmetic line. I have had success with some of their other lines. But what a disappointment this mascara is...the brush is funky..it feels like it is tugging my lashes out like a wire brush. The color is nice but it hardly deposits any color. You have to keep putting it on over and over. Is there some secret to this weird brush? I would appreciate tips as I hate to waste good money on this mascara.

Perhaps the only mascara I have ever tried that hasn't smudged on me. That's perfect, but unfortunately it seems to clump and dry out really quickly; sometimes it feels I am putting nothing on my lashes. After long wear, this mascara flakes. Doesn't really do anything for my lashes except colour them. Even though it doesn't smudge and is easy to remove, I will not be buying this mascara again.

This product just plain stinks. I bought this in both black and purple. The black seems to work slightly better than the purple. The formula overall is very dry, which in the end, doesn't go onto your lashes! It barely coats my lashes, and ends up looking as if I put nothing on. The 2 positives is that it holds my curl (after I use a lash curler), but maybe this is because little to none mascara actually goes onto my lashes. Also, it washes off quite nicely. It looks as if they are small tubes that slide off your lashes. The purple was a total waste of money...didn't color my lashes at all! I have black lashes, and my Clinique purple mascara does a great job at coloring my lashes. Lancome has failed with this line. Don't waste your money!

I haven't been to a dept. store makeup counter in some time and found this mascara quite by accident. I like it but I think the company needs to improve a few things. The reasons I like it are because: It washes off effortlessly. I splashed some water on my face at night and it was off. Also, it does not smudge. I have been looking for a mascara that is smudge-free for years and years and have found a few, but the benefits are outweighed by the fact that they don't come off easily. This mascara comes off effortlessly and does not leave under-eye smudges. The drawbacks - the tube was not filled to a capacity that would justify the price. I have only used it several times and already sense that the tube is running low. Lancome is woefully deficient in the amount put inside these tubes and the price is exhorbitant considering that fact.
The other drawback is the fact that the mascara itself is not overly lustrous or shiny; however, I am actually willing to accept that fact because so often those shiny, "perfect" lashes are the ones that smudge because of all the emollients or oils in the mascara itself.

I bought this in black last year and I loved it. I went out to a club and ended up in a friend's hotel room with no makeup remover. It came off easily and without racoon eyes. However, I purchased it in Turquoise last week and it was terrible!! Clumpy, thick and dry. I will buy it in black again but never ever in another color. When you pay 21.00 for mascara it should be perfect and NO less.

I bought the color "turquoise" at Lancome's counter in Nordstorm. This is definately not worth the price. The color is great that's it! It's hard to apply, clumpy and it does dry up in the tube, so I could use it for not more than 12 times then all tried up. I used to have Tony and Tina's herbal mascara and it was a million better than Lancome.

Idiot me! I bought this a year ago, but forgot how bad it is, yes it comes off nicely, but so does pvf glue when dry on the hand, fun though it may be to peel off- this isn't a good enough reason to buy.Magicils (Noir) was clumpy/bitty from the first time, didn't lenghten at all and flaked a bit, true it doesn't smear but it doesn't perform well either.Possibly this could be because the sa's(& some bad customers) in the UK have a terrible habit of OPPENING the tube to show you the contents! Do they not realise that mascaras start to dry up once they come into contact with air and should not then be put back on the shelf to sell? Anyway, never again, this is dreadfully poor for £14.50.

Lancome has a wide range of mascara and i found this to be my favourite. I have no idea whether it is waterproof but it stays quite well for the entire day. The effect is not as thick as the amplicils but it looks more natural on me. it does a good job in lengthening my lash. I just simply love it!

Magicils is the first and only mascara I have come across (and I´ve tried them all) that does NOT smudge. And to me that´s the most important thing because what use is having longer, fatter, wonderful lashes if you´ve got nice panda eyes to go with them?
So, yes I would love if this mascara gave more volume and definition, but I´ve found that it also works well as top coat over other mascaras. I take one lippie off because of the price and because it only lasts about a month in the tube.
EDIT 03/08/05: I´ve finally found a way to make this last for 2 or 3 months: I put the tube in a mug with hot water for a few minutes and voila! the mascara becomes liquid and easy to apply again, plus the wand heats up and curls my lashes which is great.

I got this in Fuchsia Magic--purple is my favorite color, hehe. But anyways, I couldn't really notice a color difference on my lashes when I put it on, unless I stood in the sunlight. It's probably because my lashes are black. However, it did lengthen a little, and it's so easy to take it off. I like layering over my regular mascara to give it some color, and when I wash it off the other mascara comes off too. I don't think I'd buy it again though.

This has replaced my Kiss Me mascara. I use this as a topcoat for my other mascaras. The reason is that normally, ALL mascaras smudge on me. As I have oily skin and asian eyelids, during the day i find my mascara creates lovely flattering (NOT) dark rings under my eyes. brushing this mascara on as a final step seals my mascara and stops any smudging. You only need a thin coat, so it doesn't cause clumping at all. To remove, i just wet my lashes thoroughly with water using my finger tips then remove with my usual cleanser. I've used this with all my other mascaras (MAC Fibrelash, MAC Prolash, MAC Mascara X. Max Factor More Lashes, YSL Faux Cils Mascara).

*EDITED* I have gone back to the Kiss Me mascara for a topcoat mascara. This is because Magicils dries out to quickly for me. I can use Kiss Me mascara for 6 months, but Magicils dries in 2 month or so (with daily use). I have used three tubes and it was the same with all three so i have gone back to Kiss Me.

I got this in a plum color. Very nice color on indeed, looks something like a soft black or dark brown indoor but shows that true beautiful deep purple color under sunlight. I wear this along with grey eyeliner and the result is great, also very different from my normal "soft black eyeliner with black mascara look". It does not smudge on me at all, doesn't flake either and lasts all day, which is something I deeply appreciate. However, the mascara itself is very poor at lengthening and/or thickening the lashes. My eyelashes are only defined a little bit (btw I also use this on top of Shiseido Mascara Base). So basically this does nothing much to the lashes other than adding some color. The ad does look fabulous, the color result is noticeable, but nothing like what's in the ad (the ad is never to be trusted anyway). EDIT: I now take one lipstick off and give it a 2 because it always removes the curl of my lashes totally by the end of the day.

Made my black, sparse, thin lashes look REALLY undefined, and *strange* :S Maybe because i always use black mascara, but i was dying to try the whole rage w/ coloured mascaras :) This formula did nothing to enhance, and it dried out within a few weeks. Aubergine is a beautiful colour itself (a rich deep plum), but if you don't already have great full long lashes, i don't see this accentuating your eyes, which is what mascara is for rite? :) Terribe product for me, boo

This mascara does not give me the dreaded racoon look so I would repurchase it for that reason alone, if, and only if Kiss Me was not available! I tends to dry out too fast in the tube - Kiss Me stays workable for a full 3 months+ compared to Magicils 1 month tops.

It's true it doesn't smudge all day and washes off easily with water, but I find that it doesn't do much for my lashes. It defines them a little but doesn't do much else. I use it anyways as a everyday mascara, but need to use something with more volume and lengthening when I want a more dramatic look.
