This product works so well as a dab on spot treatment! When you see one about to break to surface, pump a tiny amount (dodge pump mechanism, if you're not careful and you press too hard, you waste product) and it totally dries out of blemish almost instantly. You feel this tingling and immediately it begins to dry up and flatten. As an overall retexturizer, apply a thin layer all over- and here's the crucial bit- MOISTURISE! Otherwise you will peel in chunks like a Celt who's just returned from a vacation to Barbados. You really do see improvements, but you gotta bear it through the first (and in some cases two) week. Skin is so much smoother, break outs become less frequent, and pores are visibly smaller. I've been using this in conjunction with Priori Barrier repair complex, which is also excellent. totally buying this again

This review is for the liquid vitamin A clearing complex that comes in a 1oz (30ml) heavy duty pump plastic bottle. This stuff is potent, really really strong on me. When I first bought this (I have been through 4 bottles since) I lathered it on my face and awaited the magical disappearance of all my little facial flaws, yah...that didn't so much happen...it was more like I burnt my face and my face peeled for a week straight (which was not what I wanted). So, be careful with this stuff if you have never used it or if your face is sensitive. That all being said as a spot clearing up product it works like a charm and if I dab a little onto a pimple which is just starting to show it really helps clear it up right away and by the next day or two the pimple is healed and my face is clear. I still get some peeling if I over due it and slather the product on. Overall, I will always have this product on hand to use as a fix for a bad flare-up, but I usually do not use it more than once a week maximum.

This product improves the skin texture, smoothens, softens and gives a pretty glow to skin. However, you will need to apply a generous amount to start seeing good results. I remember how I only applied a very thin layer the first month of using it because I didn't want it to run out quickly and see no obvious improvement at all. Then I started applying more all over the face in generous amounts and I started seeing noticable imprvement to my skin texture in only 2 days. The only downside is that I may use the whole thing up in about 4 weeks time. Or less.

I hate the fussy packaging. The pump only gives you a tiny bit at a time and can get extremely messy sometimes when you're not careful with the pumping leading to waste.

Oh, it also burns the skin during application. I don't exactly turn red when that happens, I just cringe a lot as if somebody poured acid to my face. The feeling goes away after a couple of minutes but the ouch factor is there.

Unfortunately, I find it very expensive for so little. It may help with temporary breakouts but in the long-term, it doesn't do anything at all for acne-prone skin.

whats in this stuff? air and water? Did NOTHING for me at all, like the Whole MD Formulations Anti-Blemish kit. All hype, no real ingrediants that work.... I WISH i could return this. Waste of Money.

I had high hopes for this product due to the high ratings here. However, it barely does anything for my skin. Granted, I do not break out from it, but it doesn't really help with anything either. I have been using this religiously for over 3 months, and it really has not helped at all. I really wanted it to work, but I guess it's just not meant to be. I have combination skin and gets little white heads and bumps on my face. This does nothing to clear that. For the amount this thing costs, I'm better off finding another product!

have used this for about a month now, a step up from 2% BHA. excellent for eliminating blackheads and clogged pores. not too drying - i find i can use this without following with moisturizer, but i do have QUITE oily skin. no bad reactions or breakouts. expensive but works great, this is a keeper.

This is great to have when I get my monthly breakout. It's super expensive, so I'm not sure if I'll repurchase. Hardly ever use it so I guess it'll last for a loong time.

Love this, I still have occasional breakouts despite nightly Tazorac, and use this 2-3 times per week, it has done an amazing job at clearing me up. I can actually go without makeup sometimes, which is a first for me. It's a bit harsh, 5% bha and 5% lactic, so you need to be careful with it. I've also used the body clearing spray on my face and it works equally well but is quite drying.

I've used Md Formulations for almost a year, and about a month I've used this product now. My facialist haven't recommend it until now, she could recommended it even sooner, so my blemishes could be gone sooner. Anyway, I like this product! It clears up, is helping you to develop blemishes and clogged pores. Sometimes you can feel it's working. Althoe, terrific product! But the price is so high and the pump is sometimes stuck, so you think that the product is finished, when it's really not. Will buy again!UPDATE; This is just SO expensive and hasen't really helped me with my blemishes. I can still feel it working but it really doesn't help anyway. Just spend your money on something else this is WAY too expensive!

I am in my late 20s with combination skin. A few years ago, I developed acne on my forehead. The pimples (blackheads and whiteheads) were very stubborn-they could not be poppped and lasted for a very long time. I was getting frustrated with my skin and didn't think that anything would work. I tried Clearasil, Clinique Acne Solutions Cleansing foam, Mario Badescu's Drying Cream, Arbonne's Acne line, and Neutrogena's Clear Pore Treatment but nothing worked until I used the Vit A Plus Clearing Complex. The smell is a bit strong and it stings a bit but it's worth it. I don't believe that any product is effective after just a few days but I saw the effects of it after just a few days and after just over a month of use, my skin is almost clear. This product is amazing! The packaging is not the best. Sometimes the pump gets plugged when gel inside the tiny hole of the pump dries up.

The only thing that has killed my pimples, made my pores smaller, refined my skin and NOT dried it. I didn't have much to start with, but I'm very very impressed.

This has done amazing things for my skin! My skin is much smoother and pores are smaller. I use DDF sulfur mask as a spot treatment for large pimples and together my skin is the best it's been in a long time!

This is not as effective for me as the Jan Marini BioClear as a spot treatment but nevertheless is still a good spot treatment product. However the packaging is the worse that I have ever seen! It is a squeeze tube with a pump. Trying to get the product out is like patting your head and trying to rub your stomach at the same time! I won't buy again due to the poor packaging.

Thsi product was the worst product I've ever tried for acne. Burned my skin due to the alcohol content and create cystic jawline acne which I've never had before. Never again.

My HG exfoliant (5% lactic acid, a form of AHA; 5% BHA and unspecified amount of retinol; given that it doesn't have to declare the % of retinol, it is likely minimal). Over the past month or two, this helped clear my VERY acne-proned skin (among other products). This is my routine: Clearing Complex in the morning under sunscreen; oil-free BP wash + Stridex salicylic acid pads + BP gel at night. This routine has totally helped my skin, which seemed to have gotten used to the Clindoxyl that kept my skin flawlessly clear for 2 years. The Clearing Complex is very expensive, but is unique in that it has the highest BHA% in any product I know (although I might try the Avene Diacneal to see if I'd get the similar results - similar product in that it has 6% AHA and 0.1% retinol - so it has higher retinol instead of the BHA). Still, I would still fork out the money gladly, because whenever I replace it with a lower SA % in my routine, my skin breaks out again. PS - your face won't peel or fake, but your fingertips WILL peel. Be warned!

UPDATE: Just found out that retinol can't be worn during the day as it is photosensitive (makes your skin more sensitive to the sun) and photodegradable (it breaks down in the sun), so will only be using this at night, if at all. Still an excellent product, though.

I got a big sample of this from Sephora, and I'm sad to say that it hasn't done much for me at all. I put the formulation on overnight onto a big cytic pimple i had, and the next morning things were basically unchanged. I used it a few more times, but i simply wasn't impressed. Too bad it didn't work for me considering all the rave reviews.

This is the Holiest of all of my Grails. I would never leave my house again if this product was ever d/c'd. It has cleared up my acne and made me have the skin I always wanted. At $39 USD it's expensive for only 1oz. But I would take a mortgage on my house for this stuff!!I highly recommend it and Love it Sooooo much!

got this for $60CAD, very expensive, it's got i believe over 10% AHA and 5%BHA & retinal in it. this is strong stuff, it's a gel like texture, very light, doesn't dry out my skin too much, but that may be b/c i have super oily skin, lessens the acne in half, but doesn't kill it completely, lightens red scars somewhat, but not completely. UPDATE: i'm trying to swap this b/c it does nothing for my cystic acne.

I've been using this for a couple of weeks now, and I have noticed that it works great as a spot treatment. I've also used it all over, but so far haven't noticed any change in skin texture/smoothness.
The best part is that it stops those developing zits from getting worse...and those that I couldn't resist to "terminate," it's shrinked. I think this stuff truly works, but size and price could be a factor for many.

After 2 weeks of using this product along with the other prouducts that came with it in the set for problem prone skin, I can not say that I am in love with it because my skin was better before I tried it. I broke out in places that I never broke out before with large painful pimples on my forehead, and chin. Also, I got more breakouts on my cheeks. Evenmore, this stuff is very strong it likes to burn. I am giving it a while to see if it will work. At this point, it's not clearing me yet. But it does have retinol and from my days as taking retin a as a teen, my dermatologist did say that your acne may get worse before it gets better. Perhaps, that is what happening.
