Unlike a lot of the reviews here, I did NOT find this lip stain to be that pink at all. I wear all sorts of pink lipsticks, especially from M.A.C., so I am familiar with vibrant colors, and this is not one of them. With that said, it is more of a light reddish pink with a frosted tint to it. And the frost tones down the color anyway.

The consistency is pretty good and is not sticky or drying like some. It is slightly moisturizing and won't wear off quickly.

I'm updating this review with one of the many complaints found on ripoffreports.com:

Paul Monea Owner of Alexis Vogel Cosmetics, and Makeup connection Knowingly charged customers for makeup kits, and goods that were not in stock, and did not ship the products for months if ever.

He discontinued Alexis Vogel Web site, and started Makeup Connection pretending that Alexis Vogel was purchased by another makeup company. It in fact was not he was the owner of the old company, and is pretending he was not.

He also has not been shipping the same cosmetics that customers think that they are purchasing. He has changed formulas, and is passing the cosmetics off as the same formula.

The owner can has laid off all of his employees except for his mother, Gayle Monea, and his girlfriend Gina.

His business is in jeprody due to the high volume of chargebacks he has received, and the fact that the credit card companies are now penalizing him for these chargebacks.

The last three employees that were let go were being paid under the table, since he could not afford to pay the pay roll company ADP to produce real legal paychecks.

Also the last three employees have yet to be paid for their final work week, and for the shortage on their paychecks.

Be ware if he can not pay his employees how can he provide the products he is supposedly shipping?

Most people think this color is too pink, but it is a lipstain, and I like it as that. I like putting glosses over it, granted, alone, it would be too pink, but everyone has to keep in mind it's a lipstain and you're supposed to put things over it, I love it with Bliss and I will be repurchasing it when it runs out!

I have bought three of the lip stains in different shades. Basically they all end up looking the same. I feel they have the same core pigment. I still love them because they have staying power!!! The only way that I have found to change the color, is with the different glosses. I would purchase again only if & when I run out.

I tried to remain open-minded with my Alexis kit, and managed to grow to like just about everything but the smooch lip stain. It is the most outdated, dry, bubblegummy pink ever, and the tube was cheap compared to the price of the stain!Even toning it down with a more neutral liner and gloss didn't make it look like the models' lips. Like another reviewer said, it's like the old mood lipsticks that totally change color when applied.

It is P-I-N-K. And I am NOT afraid to wear pink! I bought this thinking all the bad reviews were people afraid of the color.

I am not sure how I feel about it yet. Sometimes I think people think something looks bad on them, when it looks great. I am a maid of honor in a wedding this weekend, and I am wearing this color. I bet in pictures, it is going to look great. We will see!

I guess I'm in the minority because I like this lip stain. It's VERY pink by itself, so I wear it with lip liner and gloss. What I love about it is the formulation. It's the only stain I've tried that doesn't dry out my lips. I will be repurchasing in other colors.

Reminded me too much of Wet N'Wild. Unfortunately, the price was more MAC. It is a cheap stain that turns that funny fuschia color (like mood lipstick-yes the cheap green stuff that turns pink) after a couple of minutes. Don't waste your money. If you like stains, then by all means get the mood lipstick for .99 cents!

This stuff is bad. What makes it so bad? The fact it looks great in the tube & then totally changes when you put it on. I don't mean a little change, I mean a serious change. I have to agree with a lot of the reviewers on here. In the tube it's a really pretty shade of pink. You put the stuff on and it changes into some weird hideous fuchsia. It's not like anything I've seen. It isn't some pretty wine color or nice pink like in the tube, it's this weird bright pink fuchsia shade that's nowhere close to the color of the lipstick. Now for the price I paid I expect the stuff to be true to the color in the tube. If I wanted some god awful fuchsia then I wouldn't have purchased something that gave the appearance of being this beautiful light pink. I like the packaging but that's about it. Unfortunately I can't return it because I purchased it from Ebay. Now I see why they were getting rid of the stuff.

Is this the godawful 80s pink that's on all the models in the AV infomercial? If so- good lord, Alexis! From which unholy sea hag's makeup kit did you steal this lipstick from? Did she honestly think that this color would look good on anyone?! Nobody with any kind of good taste in makeup would wear such a color. My mom would love it though. She wears hurt-yer-eyes pink lipstick every day.

I would have to agree with Skye99. I could wear this at night to run or walk the dog, along with my reflective windbreaker! But certainly not to work, or even to a dance club.

I guess you either love this product or hate it and I LOVE it! I am fair and it looks great on me---especially if I am wearing a little bronzer. It really lasts a long time and truly "stains" even without putting the powder over it. I feel it brightens my face and would buy it again.

I didn't like her whole line of products so I returned it...but this lipstick was one thing I wish I could have kept. I too am in the minority, but I loved the color (when you pat some powder over it, like she suggests). I am MMM, brown hair and hazel eyes and it looked great one me. I think you might need to have a slight olive tone to your skin for this to work--I really liked the smell too, for some odd reason and it had great staying power.

Hello, hotlips! Wow this lipstick (well it is almost a lipstain) is BRIGHT PINK!! The color is horrible (for me at least) but it stains so well, I was so excited when Alexis Vogel came out with additional colors. I purchased the best-looking color (I thought) HARMONY after looking at the website and catalog. If you don't like SMOOCH, you won't like HARMONY! It looks ok in the tube but ends up staining your lips exactly like SMOOCH!! It is like magical hot pink lipstick, I can't describe it. I would give HARMONY it's own review but I don't have enough posts yet! :)

TOO pinky on me, and I'm a blonde. I looked like someone out of the old movies that they retouched the color on. I did put it on lighter, that was better, but the color bled.

this lipstick is waaaaay too pink. doesn't look good w/ my pale asian skin. but hey maybe it could look better on other light haired girls since shakira wears this sometimes and it looks great on her.

This product is only doable if you follow her instructions and tone it down with foundation and powder and then put the gloss over it. Otherwise, it looks exactly the same color as hubba bubba bubble gum...lol. These products are supposed to flatter any skintown. It was okay for me when toned down and covered with gloss but I am as pale blonde. I can't imagine that color on someone who looks best in warm tones. It does last all day long, but I would rather have a color that I don't have to work to make it pretty. Wouldn't it be a novel concept if it was pretty right out of the tube? LOL.

This is the worst lipstick I've ever used in my life! The color looks bubble gum pink in the tube and looks neon pink on my lips. I was able to tone it down by following the directions on the DVD and applied the lip liner around my lip line and smudged it into the lipstick. I then applied the AV lip gloss and it looked okay. However, as the day wore on, the gloss and lip liner came off but the lipstick remained. I happened to catch a glimpse of myself in a mirror and to my horror, my lips were FUSCHIA!! I just can't imagine this color would look good on anyone and I definitely don't recommend this product at all.
