I am so disappointed that this has been discontinued. I have used this paint quite a bit. I find MAC paints really do help my eyeshadow stay on. Chartru is a nice green that I've used in many ways, as a base and as a wash alone. I will miss you, Chartru.

Hard to get used to these paints, but once you do, you will discover how wonderful they are. I'm olive complected, so it's sometimes hard to see color show up on me, but these do the trick.

This is a gorgeous color, it's a golden olive green and really lasts all day long,it's quite tragic that it isn't available at the moment but there are a couple of dupes out there...(I Think..?) Chartru + MAC Swimming or Juxt e/s = love!!
A must have for make-up junkies like myself!!

This product very well for my lids, I mainly use it for a base to most of my light colored eyeshadows. The only downside was the packaging, it can get really messing, as soon as I opened the little cap it started spilling over, other than that, works great.

This gets a full 5 rating from me because MAC paints are beautiful and easy to work with and make great bases.

Chartru itself is a beautiful green - another paint that makes a great wash to be worn all by itself but is also great as a base for green shadows.

Ugh .. WHY does this have to be discontinued?!?!?! I'm a huge junkie for MAC paints, so it goes without saying that I had to have Chartru .. because it's a paint, and because I have a major weakness for green shadows. Chartru is amazing. It's a gorgeous light acid green with gold tones .. blends like a dream, and is always smooth and creamy. this is one of those things that I have "backups" of because of it's originality. I haven't come across anything else that compares in terms of color and texture .. I love you Chartru!!

I absolutely love the color, but it is quite deceiving, this is a completely different color than it is described as on the MAC site, nor do I see it as green as the color on the label.

To me it was more of a yellowish green, and it really turned out bad for my completion and made my skin (NC15 for reference) look even more pale, and almost sickly.

Color looks good on other people just not on me

To my surprise, I truly like this color. Apply a thin layer and it's golden-green. Apply thick, and you get green with golden base. I am wearing today with Milani Garden Mist in center of lid, Iman Clay bronzer from crease to brow, NYX pigment in Black on outer V and crease, and MAC fluidline in BlackTrax as liner. So glad SA at Macy's MAC counter suggested this little gem. Otherwise, I would have never considered it. Great base for golden or green shadows; ie. Antique Gold, Old Gold, Sun Goddess, Olive, Lime, or Garden Mist. For reference, I'm a lovely bronze-skin beauty, aka DDD, NW45 or HIP#818.

This is the best eyeshadow base for Green eyeshadows. I'm on my second tube and I love it. I use it with the 217 brush and it works like a charm. Highly recommended, unique eye product.

I'm really getting back into using these (have had them forever but keep forgetting about them). The packaging is cute but not very functional. I will purchase more paints in other shades...what i like about this one is the same as others have posted--its great by itself (one layer and its just a light greeny gold, 2 layers makes it more golden olive, etc). But it works well as a base for other similar toned shadows, such as Milani Antique Gold. Such a striking combo! And these are fun to play with...

This works wonderfully on it's own or underneath old gold pigment and a variety of colors. Staying power is awesome, packaging sucks balls.

The colour is beautiful. It stays longer on my eyelids but sometimes can be cakey. I hate the packaging because i dont have to squeeze it to get colours but it comes out itself in very large quantity!!what a waste!chartru is a good colour for spring season!

This was my first experiance buying anything from MAC and I have to say its kept me coming back. I bought it in hopes of using it under green shadows to make them pop and now Im using it under greens, golds and blues. Its a wonderful base and I will always use it.

This was my first experience with MAC paints. I must say it was a great choice! and I'm sure I will be purchasing more. It was the first cream type shadow I have tried & ended up liking. The color is a fantastic shade of golden green..a little disappointing though, was the fact that when applied to my lid it showed more of the golden color rather then the green. But I think when paired with other greens, it will pull the green out more. The color lasted all day on my lids, didn't crease, and remained fresh looking. The tubes are small, and I'm not so sure I like the idea of the metal type tube, but with the amount of product in there it will last a really long time. As for price, I purchased mine from a swap/sell board for $8-shipping included..that to me is a great price, not so sure I will pay full price for one.

I love the paints. Chartru is no exception. Goes on like a dream even if you are a little heavy handed. Works wonderfully as a base, and looks fab with teal, aqua, and gold colours. Also works well under a smoky grey/black finish as something a little different. I love the concept of the artist paint tubes, they seem to have improved over the years, but I still get a little squidge. I have found keeping them in a cool environment helps to stop this though.

This is one of my favorite paints. It's shimmery and makes an excellent base for gold or green eyeshadows. I usually apply a tiny amount with my finger or with the MAC sponge applicator brushes and blend well - be forewarned, though, A LITTLE GOES A LONG WAY!

The packaging is awful. I hate messing around with tubes and it took me awhile to get the hang of it. (I tended to squeeze too hard and wind up with a strip of paint down the side of it.)

yay! my first MAC paint and it didn't disappoint. this is a beautiful color: a soft golden green that shimmers so nicely! lasts forever and doesn't crease...well,...i never really had a problem w/ creasing but yeah. i like this b/c it really adds some *oomphf* when worn under e/s. love, love, love! i think i'll get Mauvism, Canton Candy and Graphito next.

I like this paint, but NOT the packaging. I rolled the end down like you would with a toothpaste tube, but the paint tube broke and the paint oozed out and dried up. there goes a waste of money. i recommend squeezing the paint into one of those sample screw top jars.

I bought this during a recent trip to my local MAC counter. Im an obsessed fan with MAC and i was looking for something that had more staying power on my eyes. Paints was the way to go and i picked up this colour. Im NC42 and this colour is absolutely gorgeous. A very nice pale yellow-green laced with gold shimmer in it. it can be paired with other paints and e/s to create amazing looks. It honestly stays on forever until you decide to take it off, i even slept in it one time and i woke up with it uncreased. The tube will last u a lifetime, you only need a TINY amount depending on the intensity you want with it. The tube is like the one they use for the Cheekhues. Great product i wish they had more colours tho :S oh well. definitely would repurchase
