This is my third bottle and I'm not stopping any time soon! I have skin sensitive to mechanical peeling products - meaning I can't use anything that contains any sort of grains or granules because i get broken capillaries as soon as I do. Even a wet towel is sometimes too harsh. So when I tried this for the first time and it didn't do anything bad to my skin, I fell in love with it. As it is an enzyme product, you should leave it on for a few minutes. I usually use it in the shower while I wash my hair and scrub my body. By then my face is as smooth as a baby's... face and no broken capillaries! It is quite pricey here in Norway (about $70) but for me, it lasts about 9 months so it is worth it. I use it every 2-3 days.

Finally, an exfoliating product that doesn't destroy my skin! I have very sensitive dry skin, and using this once a week has dramatically improved all my dry spots and flakiness. I use benzoyl peroxide as a spot treatment a few times a week, and it really dries my skin out. After using the Peeling Powder, I am able to use my normal moisturizer and it actually absorbs in, as opposed to just sitting there on my dry patches/flakes. I like that you can control how much product you use & that you can dilute to your own desired thickness. It is definitely expensive, but a little goes a long way.

It's hard to review this baby because it's a stealth fighter, like another reviewer said very accurately. I started using this around my 31st birthday, about 2 months ago. I use it about 3 times a week and my skin has cleared up considerably.
The thing is I started using a few new products around that time so it's hard to tell which one I struck gold with, but the combination of them seems to be working a treat so am gonna keep using them all!
So my regime now consists of the following:
Morning: Avene's micellar lotion for cleansing, followed by MAC's charged water hydrating gel cream
Evening: Avene's micellar lotion for cleansing and removing makeup, followed by
Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair serum and Estee Lauder's Hydrationist moisturising lotion for combination/oily skin
3 times a week in the shower: Kanebo's silk peeling powder for exfoliating.
Seriously, my skin has been pretty troubled since my early twenties but it has never looked this good. It's so good even I can dash out the door now with just a touch of blusher and not feel embarrassed! Never thought I'd see the day :)
Don't be fooled by the fact that other reviewers call this a scrub, because it doesn't feel anything like a scrub. I was very disappointed when I first used this, based on the reviews I thought it would turn into a sort of rough paste that I could use to really polish my skin. Instead, it just turns into this creamy, lathered foam! Not the slightest hint of any grains in this, just silky foam, like the instructions actually say. Still, I was surprised and a bit let down. The feeling after using this is kind of weird, it feels like you are stripping your face, after rinsing it is LITERALLY (and I mean literally in the literal way) squeaky clean, you can actually hear it squeak if you rub it. I kind of thought that probably isn't a good thing since stripping my face of its natural oils tends to shock my oil glands into overcompensation mode. However, if I just towel off and moisturise after my face feels super soft.
It's not like you see an immediate difference but yesterday my skin was looking and feeling a bit manky from eating too much junk food and not being outside enough, so I had a shower, used this powder, put on my ANR serum and Hydrationist moisturiser, went to bed, and woke up this morning with the few blemishes I had almost completely vanished and my face looking glowy and healthy. Yay!
And what the other reviewers said about this lasting ages: I think that's true so it's not that bad value. I used it 3 times a week for the past 2 months and I've barely made a dent in it.
Definitely recommended for gentle but seriously effective exfoliating, both for acne-prone girls like myself and for 30-something girls (like myself) ;)
Edit 12 December 2012: Well, been using this for almost a year now and I ran out last week. Used it about 3 times a week, sometimes more. It's not like my skin is completely terrible again out of the blue, but I definitely feel like it was smoother when I hadn't ran out yet. It retails for about 60 euro in Europe, which is a lot, admittedly, but if you take into consideration that this lasted me about 10 months with very frequest use it's not bad. Gonna buy it again asap.

It is so far the best face cleaning products for me. It is very gentle but cleans my face excllently well. It's better than La Praire face cleaning products. Just a little bit can do the work, so the bottle can last more than 6 months...Great Product!
Two years=One bottle, I would say it is cheap for me...

A definite HG for me in conjunction with my acne.org BP treatment, body shop face buffer and Neutrogena acne stress control moisurizer. Technically this is not a scrub but it actually is. I use it every other morning in the shower and just massage the "paste" into my face for a couple of minutes. My face has never been that clear and flake-free in my whole life. Honestly, I don't care what the price is if I get this kind of result on my face! BTW I've had it for a year and it still not anywhere near finished. So the price seems to be high but it's very cost effective :-)

This is My favourite skin product.. leaves my face squeacky clean without the irratation that most scrubs do to my face.
It's a bit difficult to use at first but ones you get the hang of mixing it up you'll be addicted.
I've tried numerous of products to brighten my dull, blemished skin and they've all have left my skin looking even more dull because their too harsh. This is just perfect. Does everything and leaves my skin looking healthier and brighter after cleansing with it.
UPDATE; 7/11/2011
Baking soda! Yes. Mix it in with your cleanser and see for yourself. It works even better and is free compared to this.

I simply love this scrub:it is the only one that do NOT make my skin red.I am very sensitive and the ordinary scrubs with small beads inside are not mild enough : they do a mechanical scrub, too harsh for me.The Kanebo scrub instead performs a chemical peel that is really effective but very gentle at the same time. The best result is reached when you put a small amount into a little container ( or the palm of your hand if you don't have one), add with drops of cold water and then stir with a wet foundation brush.Apply the foamy mix on the face and neck with gentle brush stokes and then wash away with cold water. The skin will glow after this treatment. The best peeling ever seen!!!!

I really really really enjoyed using this product. It made my skin super soft, feel clean and brightened ot dramatically. It was given to me as a gift and a year later when I went to stock up was a bit surprised by the price, the powder is not cheap but lasted me an entire year so I definately re-purchased. A tip for those with oily skin, dont apply too much pressure to get that freshly scrubbed face feeling because even though the powder dissolves to a paste you can still cause burns.

This peeling works great for me- my skin just *glows* after a peeling with this baby. I would definately repurchase, but I'm not even halfway through my bottle after 2 years.

Great product! I have been fighting my blackheads for years, I have tried regular high-end facials, purifying masks and exfoliants with the only miserable result that my face was irritated and the blackheads were back again in less than a fortnight. Now I have been using Silk Peeling Powder once to twice a week for a couple of months with fantastic results. My blackheads have almost dissappeared, my skin is much smoother, and my really sensitive skin is never irritated. I keep it on my face a bit longer than suggested in the leaflet, usually I massage it in for 2-5 minutes and keep my hands moist with warm water. There is no need to use it every day, and it might really be too drying or lead to irritation. At first it may seem a little tricky to get the powder quickly dissolved and not wasted or clumped, but with a little practice that is not a problem. One bottle really lasts at least for half a year, so, if this seems to be a splurge, that's not quite true.

I have been using this for a few years. I have used it both in the shower and out. The best way to use it s to put a little powder in the palm of your hand and add a couple of drops of water--enough to make a slightly watery paste. Then just spread it on your face and gently work it in circular motions. Don't stay in one place too long, you can cause abrasions if you get too aggressive. I like this much better than regular scrubs. I can't stand the grittiness. This works even better if you use the Kanebo cleansing cloth with it--again be gentle! My face is smooth and looks great after using this. Yes, the price is a little steep, but you only have to use a little bit each time. A bottle lasts almost a year.

Overworked skin emergency?
A few years ago I over-indulged in some at-home "peels" right before my sister's wedding. My face was super red and bumpy and a mess. Everything that touched it stung it. Thankfully, the people at the Saks counter took incredible pity on me and actually *walked* me over to the Kanebo counter. Ayep. The man at the counter took one look at me and provided me with a FREE sampe kit including Kanebo La Lotion and Silk Peeling Powder to use as a cleanser.
Well, by the time my sister's wedding came about (two days later), my skin had almost completely calmed down. Most of the bumps were gone as was the redness.
It was a miracle product for me.

Absolutely fantastic product, I have always been searching for somehting gentle for my sensitive skin and this powder is just perfect. It "polishes" and exfoliates and I love the powder form! It is very gentle and I use it every evening after removing my mu. It is one of the three skincare products I'd take with me on that deserted island;) (together with Dr.Alkaitis Day cream and his Soothing gel). Definitely recommended.

This is the only Kanebo product I own. I love the idea of a powder as an exfoliator. You add a small amount of water to it before applying to your face. If you use too much water, it ruins the application. I thought this would be way too gentle since I usually prefer larger granules to exfoliate with, but this makes my skin so smooth and silky. It's not for everyday use so I use it 1-2 times a week. We bought this from Saks, and I was concerned that we had just wasted $50 by falling for a salesperson's demonstration. But anytime my husband buys a product this expensive just so he can use it, it must be something excellent. He was right. We love it! As a side note; I thought this made my skin burn horribly, but then I remembered that I had used alcohol on my cheek earlier because a mosquito had bitten me. :( All other applications have been burn-free. I will definitely not use an alcohol based product before applying this to be on the safe side.

I got a sample and used it several times during cooler weather and a major regime overhaul. I think the Sensai range is very well formulated, and despite my reluctance to use a foaming cleanser, this was nice and gentle.
My skin is used to physical exfoliation and enzyme peels so I hardly thought this could have any exfoliation effects for me - and no it does not!! I would not purchase full size as I do not enjoy using powders during cleansing. I am currently using either Cellcosmet rich cream cleanser, or non fragranced micellaire solutions during winter. I may consider double cleansing as my next experiment but no I can never see a peeling powder as a part of my regime.

I received this product as a sample from Barney's in Chicago. It is a very gentle polisher and if you have dry skin, I think you will appreciate how it works without making your skin even more dry and painful.
I will definately buy it!
If you are in the Chicago Barney's do ask for Michael in the cosmetics department. He makes terrific suggestions and is very willing to give you the samples that you need. I will be trying a few more of the Kanebo products.

I feel like this is one of Kanebo's best products.I love the packaging..it's a cute little dispenser that gives you the exact amount.
Problem I have is that yes it makes my skin super smooth...nut so does an aspirin mask.I just don't see any major benefits of it and it seems expensive for just a nice smooth feeling scrub.

I love Kanebo products. This scrub is very gentle for sensitive skin 'cause it's in powder form. You ''ll need a tiny bit on palms, add a bit of water and then rub it against hands and then on your face.My skin feels squeaky clean afterwards and I simply adore the fact that it doesn't irritate my face and areas with pimples etc(I have oily/combo skin and I sometimes get those nasty ones!!!).The packaging is standard Kanebo International Line and the powder has a dispenser which makes it easy to control the amount of powder you want to use.I would buy it again, even though it's very expensive!

This is my HG scrub. I have a sensitive combination skin. I've used a lot of different scrubs before, but to date I think this scrub has works the best for me. When I was using other scrubs my skin would get slightly irritated, but I have not experienced it with the Silk Peeling Powder. This is definitely less harsh than the other scrubs out there. Some people might not like this scrub, because you can not "feel" it, but it really does work like a charm. After scrubbing my skin is superclean and glows. BTW, you can not use it everyday, 2 till 3 times a week is more than enough.
