what a gorgeous colour! works great as a top coat over other nail polish colours as well.
to describe the colour, it's like a semi sheer pink opal. works great on it's own or, personally, i like it layers over french manicures for a nice pearly finish.

I absolutely love this polish! It's a sheer, opalescent pink with purple flash. Beautiful over other pinky neutrals and by itself as well. I will by this again and again. It's definitely a staple.

An absolutely stunning shade of very sheer, irridescent pink that enhances the beauty of the polishes I top with it.
I haven't yet tried it by itself, but it is worth every penny for its amplifying effects on my other nail looks.
Lately I have been wearing it over OPI's Done out in Deco and over OPI's Bubblebath, with very pretty results.
Highly recommended staple.

Beautiful. Very sheer, looks best with 2 coats for a glassy finish which you can see the white of your nail tips still.
Looks translucent pink with violet flash outdoors in the daylight, and like sugar water with blue/violet flash under indoors lighting. I love Opi bridal polishes because you always know they're going to special, and this one is a stunner. Really, really lovely, this has me on a sheer kick!

Oh, how I love this polish! I used to wear OPI Bubble Bath as my to-go nude, but sometimes I find it a bit boring since it's just a plain very natural nude. That's where Altar Ego comes in. This gives even the most boring nude that little extra. I has a slight pink shimmery base with a light blue sheen and it makes my nails looks so polished. Even when I wear it on it's own it gives my nails such a polished appearance. I will keep this in my collection forever.
This is my (very dry hands and) nails with OPI Altar Ego and Orly In A Snap Topcoat:

I am a guy who likes his nails healty looking and natural. I have been using mostly clear polishes but occaisionally get a french polish--it looks great and so natural nobody really notices. For fun I tried this polish based on reviews and find it has a nice clean natural look with a subtle irridescence of pink/lilac. It goes on very easy without streaking and is quite shear. It has a nice shine and looks great with one or two coats. It is whiter than rosy future by OPI but still subtle in indoor lighting. In sunlight, the color/irredescence pops out. Have worn at work and nobody really notices, it is subtle.

I love this polish. It is very similar to my HG Privacy Please. The only difference is that Privacy Please is a creamy shade and Altar Ego has the iridescent sheen. I prefer Privacy Please because it's shine lasts longer, but they are very similar.

I picked this up thinking it was sheer luck, but once I applied it I realized that it wasn't. This color has some light purple, pinkish tones to it. I don't really care for it, but I use it occasionally.

Wow! What a beautiful colour! A gorgeous shell, pearly, lilac pink laced with beautiful sparkles, providing a beautiful multi-coloured sheen. In some lights, it looks clear - but rosy, healthy looking nails - but in most lights, it looks lilac pink with ribbons of blue, purple and pink shimmer. This doesn't streak or bubble, instead, just smooth colour that glides on like silk. This lasts ages without it chipping, especially with a good top coat. Altar Ego is sophisticated, classy and versatile. You can layer it over colours to make them pop or wear a coat or two by itself for beautiful nails. This isn't a nude, instead it's a sheer, pearl pink with lilac tones laced with beautiful shimmer! So lovely!

I received it yesterday, and already it's my all time favourite nail colour! It's soft, sheerest pink that glows with a violet shimmer - a bit like pink mother of pearl, but softer. It takes french manicure (I pair it with OPI swedish nude) from boring and safe to truly beautiful and unusual, all the while managing to be stylish and understated, as well as appropriate for just about anywhere.
Also, it's fabulous for layering. I got Lincoln Park at Midnight yesterday too, and thought it was a boring, unflattering black-purple. So I painted on Altar Ego over the top, and the resuly was a gorgeous, shimmery, plush velvet indigo. 5 lippies for Altar Ego. Hell, six lippies!

I received this in a mini set "Take Note of My Toes". The description is Light pink laced with lavender. It is very versitile. A subtle opal shine with one coat. Understated which I prefer on my hands. A couple of coats adds more depth. I actually like to use this over That's Berry Daring on my toes. Its one of the other shades that came in the set. It adds a wonderful opal shimmer to the bright berry color. My favorite color right now due to its versitility. Planning on buying a big bottle when I can.

Love this.I remember wearing a similar shade of polish throughout the summer years ago and adoring it,but it was discontinued by the company :( I've searched for years trying to find that polish's twin, and Altar Ego is it!Quality wise,OPI's polishes are as good as it gets, and the color is a gorgeous sheer iridescent pink opal.It reminds me of seashells. This also looks beautiful over other pink nail polishes. It gives them a beautiful multi-dimensional sheen.

Awesome color! Similar to Rosy Future by Opi! It's an opalescent sheer pink that is to die for over Sugar Daddy. My favorite shade!

I'm all for subtle nails, so this one is a definite winner! It was in fact my very first OPI, and now a cornerstone for me. A pale sheer pink, with very sutble soft pink shimmer. I love it, this color never fails me. It is just as suitable for work, as it is for a night out.
OPI's and this color, did in fact turn my love-hate relationship with nailpolishes into pure love. It is no longer a pain in the butt to do my nails! :)
Definite repurchase. Over and over and over again! :D

This is a beautiful colour - Its a Sheer - nearly clear, Pink Opal/Irridescent colour. At a glance looks like clear lacquer, but under different lights you see the blues, pink-purple in it. Nice as a top layer, too. (Great over Bubble Bath or Sweetheart.

Such a beautiful colour - Its a Pink Opal/Irridescent colour. I love wearing it as a single coat on my fingernails ... at a glance looks like clear polish, but under different lights you see the pink-purple in it. Such a beautiful colour ... Glad I own this one ...

I like OPI colors and since latelly been into sheer colors I pick this one to try. Well it's sheer almost too sheer but I found that if I apply Essie Waltz under I can get the color I want, yet the sheernes somewhat remains.
The color is very pretty like opal but with pink/lilac undertons. For me is a Keeper.

This color is absolutely gorgeous up close, but from a distance it just looks like a typical pinky opalescent iridescent polish. I had to build up 3 coats to get the color I wanted, but I imagine the sheerness would be perfect for french manicures or as a topcoat on pink & white acrylics.
