I really like this! I was suprised, because it didn't seem like the kindof thing I would go for. I received a sample with my order for Nag Champa. I put it on after my shower (so I was scent free) to try it out. I found the buttery smell a little off putting at first. But as the fragrance develops, it is lovely. Soft, warm, comforting. Excellent sillage, and lasting power. I mixed in a little Amber the second time I wore it, and the results are EXCELLENT!

And yes, I would repurchase. As a matter of fact, I did. I ordered the 1/3 oz. roll on. I think it will be perfect for winter time. I am looking forward to receiving it, as well as a few more samples. Thank you MUA for helping me find this e-tailer!

I received a nice little bottle of this as an extra in a swap and passed it on because I thought it was nothing special. Then I got another bottle as an extra and tried it yesterday. I really like it! Caramelly, yes! Warm, woody. Soft, yes. Comforting. Sillage is great. And lasting power? Incredible! I wore a small amount yesterday, and when I put my coat on today, I could still smell it. I've never smelled leftover fragrance on my coat! Warning -- if you're not sure you'll like it, test it in a *small* area. But I'm really enjoying it.

Soft, warm and caramelly but not too foody & sweet. I like the woodsy note & I think I detect a bit of nuttiness. DFB perfume oils are very long-lasting.

What is this? I'm getting cocoa, vanilla, honey, and blossoms of some sort. Perhaps a sandalwood coriander base....also a hint of amber in the drydown. This is nice....just plain nice.

On my skin this starts off with a fresh bergamot note, followed by a slightly sweet incense and dry sandalwood notes. The bergamot note saves this from becoming too woody and heavy, and the combo works really well on my skin. The oil has a tendency to turn into a musty mess on my skin, but I've noticed that DB's shea butters make a better alternative as solid perfume (the fragrance stays true). This etailer has excellent prices and customer service. Description: "Warm woods and resins, bergamot and frankincense dance together for a truly delightful scent."

Strange. At first, it is incense with a hint of something sweet and citrus-y that *could* be bergamot. . .but certainly not real bergamot. Dries down to a very odd woody/cardboard-y/dusty/incensey smell that is truly unpleasant. My whole experience with Dragonfly Blue--despite their lightning-quick shipping and lovely packaging--has been an unfortunate lesson in "You get what you pay for." I hate to say it, but these oils are of poor quality. I'd rather spend the little money I have with which to indulge my perfume habit on a small quantity of something high-quality that I can really enjoy and appreciate, rather than waste it on enough cheap nasty oil to slather myself with for weeks.

Incense seems to be the dominant note. It's warm and kinda sweet, yet never too much in hot weather. The musk is never overpowering, and the vanilla doesn't have much of the unpleasant cardboard aspect other DFB vanillas develop on me in oil form (all the scents are true and lovely in shea butter form, though). I've tried this in the oil and spray and both are great from top notes to drydown; very long-lasting too. Edit, Winter 2009: Still like this one, year-round. Smells like Elemi (a piney-lemon scented resin), heliotrope (vanilla-almond scent), buttery vanilla, a white musk, some kind of wood (maybe amyris, which is sometimes used as a sandalwood substitute), and maybe a bit of Frankincense. Lovely, complex, warm & subtly sweet musk scent.

EEEK!
That was not my intended reaction to the perfume. In fact, I was lemming it pretty badly. I tried Calypso and fell in love with it, and based on reviews I thought I'd love it.
In the bottle, it seemed pretty harmless, in fact kind of lovely. It has a warm woody smell with a crisp and slightly spicy combination of bergamont and frankincense. However, the top notes evaporated very quickly, leaving a pungently stale heavy scent, not woodsy at all, but rather reminiscent of walking into a warehouse that has been sealed for years. This is one of the few perfumes I used that I had to rub off with alcohol right away.

I absolutely adore this fragrance! On me it is a lovely mixture of vanilla, coconut, woodsy resin, and some other magical aromas I can't place. Just absolute heaven! Whenever I wear this I feel like a goddess, and that's saying something! =P

this scent is exactly as the site describes it: warm, resinous, and carmelly, with just a hint of citrus or lemon somewhere in it. it is a beautiful scent, and it is relatively long lasting. love this scent, love this company.

Like a previous reviewer here, I, too, prefer the DSH oils to DFB's. DFB oils seem less well-blended, less of a lush olfactory orchestra than they are a bunch of notes poured together into a bottle to make a scent. Mystic Gold on my skin opens with a woody incensey note, with a touch, hint, really, of lemon. The drydown is where the fun starts. A little creamy sweetness creeps in, the warm vanilla. There's something about it that reminds me of cedar woodchips. I dabbled in some woodwork when I was a teenager, and this reminds me of being covered in a light dusting of woodchips and wooddust. The musk is clean and woodsy that way. I would have given this half a lippie more, if there wasn't that sharp lemoney accord in it. But nonetheless, I see a repurchase ahead, at least as another sample bottle. It's the kind of oil you could mix with other oils to give it your own personal kick. As mentioned by others here, DFB's Lysa is such a pleasure to do business with. I'd always repurchase her oils - at her wonderful affordable prices, they're great fun to experiment with and give away as little gifts.

Along the same lines as previous reviews, I hate to say this, but I love everything about DFB--the customer service, the packaging, etc.--except the actual fragrances. There always seems to be something cardboard-ish about them. That said, I do like this. It starts out very deep, warm and incensey. It dries down to a rich, sweet buttery vanilla. However, there's still that weird note that's in all of the fragrances in this line that irks me, and it's no less detectable in this one. Too bad.

Dragonfly Blue's customer service is the best, so I wish I could like the oils. I don't know what happens to DFB's scents on my skin, but when I put them on there's a tangy, heavy, THICK sort of under-smell that I can't get past. I've noticed it in almost all of the ones I've tested (the only one that didn't have the thick nasty under-tang was Violet, and I don't like violet fragrances). I hate to say it, but they smell cheap and badly blended. Not to mention that most of them end up smelling exactly the same after the initial drydown. Wish I didn't have to be a naysayer, but I do.

Sweet, spicy, dry; reminds me of the myrrh scent my roommate in college used to perfume the room with around Christmas. Very much an autumn scent, I think. Reminds me of the woods on a mild sunny November day. Have raised it from 3 lippies to 4 after trying it again. Really a very nice blend. Plus, someone here at work complimented me on it - said it smelled like cookies. :)

I love this. Light and sexy. Its musky but sweet with vanilla and caramel notes. A delicious comfort scent that isnt too foody nor too strong. I would say this is a subtle scent. People probably wont notice teh smell on you but teh occasional wiffs you get of it on your body will really make you breathe deep and smile. yum. Another winner.

I'm really enjoying wearing this perfume this summer. Wet, this is a lemony, sweet musk, with a touch of wood. Dry is sweeter and cookie-like, and I may detect a hint of coconut. Yummy. Incredible lasting power. I'll rebuy if I ever use up my huge sample. DFB is an amazing company--speedy shipping, great prices, wonderful customer service, and the cutest packaging ever.

I knew from the description that I would LIKE this, but I had no idea I would fall in love with it at first sniff. At first, I get sawdust (which I love, because it reminds me of hanging out in my granddad's garage while he made tables and shelves of cedar and oak). Then, the vanilla comes through and I get sweet and woody perfection. Did I mention that this stuff LASTS? It also has amazing sillage. I received *3* compliments from strangers within 3 hours of wearing it. This will most definitely be a full-sized purchase.

Wow, ladies- you are not kidding! This stuff is amazing! Based on all the positive reviews, I purchased a vial of this, along with Vanilla and Golden Oak (repurchases). It smells warm, woodsy, sexy, just fantastic! It's the kind of scent that makes you feel extremely confident when you put it on. It draws people to you, but they can't quite figure out why! Simply amazing!
