This smells like a strawberry cupcake!! If it were edible, I would absolutely devour it, and it's 79 cents, so if you hate it, then you're not out a whole bunch of money. I personally like Vo5 shampoos because they don't build up in my thick hair, instead they leave it looking thicker and full of vitality. This shampoo is no exception, it may be a bit drying for everyday use, so I counteract this by adding some EVOO to it for moisture. Love this yummy shampoo and highly recommend.

So I was looking for a really cheap product for my generally "out-of-control" hair and I stumbled upon this one at the dollar tree. Yep, it was just for a dollar! So I obviously had to try it.
So I've been using it for a couple weeks and I'm not too let down by the results, yet not exactly happy with them either. It can't be used without a conditioner. And it dries out your hair a bit, too.
But for the price, everything else about it is great. It stays true to its fragrance (very yummy) and lathers up and cleans your hair out very well. Just be sure to use a good conditioner afterwards. Tryy it! :)

I have been on the search for my HG shampoo & condish for as long as I can remember and of all things to work for me, the VO5 Moisture Milks Shampoo & Conditioner do. I've used the Strawberries & Cream as well as the Passionfruit Smoothie. Both were labeled "Moisture Milks" and not "Smoothing" that I saw anywhere on the package.
The shampoo lathers well and cleanses without stripping. The shampoo moisturizes without weighing my (fine) hair down. And the best part: my usually tangle-prone hair is easy to comb through.
I seriously cannot believe these are $1.00 each! That is just insane.
My only complaint is that the product literally flies out of the bottle top if you're not careful...DO NOT SQUEEZE! :) After one or two uses you get the hang of it, but it would be nice if they redesigned so the flow was slower.
I can't see myself buying another brand of shampoo & condish as long as these continue to work so well for me.

I love the scent of this shampoo. It lathers well and it leaves behind nice, soft hair. Its really cheap so I can buy if I run out of other pricier shampoos.

Every couple years I grow my hair out and I end up going back to one of the V05s because for whatever reason they make my fine hair look way thicker. I used to use the "extra body" shampoo but the smell bothers me now (was the fragrance always that strong? Who knows) so I picked up the green tea one and the strawberries and cream version....and all I can say is this: when I use the strawberries and cream type I can feel my hair thickening as I lather. No doubt this is psychological - I dunno - but whatever it is I'm converting. Will pick up some of the conditioner this weekend at the CVS Black Friday extravaganza. I alternate this with Infusium Volumologie and frankly this works better for me. Dare I call it an HG? Yup.

Under a buck and works great. I need a few shampoos in my rotation to take out all the build up so I keep this in my shower. I love it and only need a tiny bit to sud up my hair and get it clean. It's super thin so you'll probably over squeeze too much the first time you use it - but once you learn you shouldn't do it again! I'm bummed I didn't know this before I tried it as a ton of it got wasted! But for the price it can't be beat. Now I need to find a good clarifying shampoo to replace the Pantene Pro-V clarifying shampoo that is discontinued! HELP!

Well, I'm a little disappointed. Not because I really expected a $1 shampoo to be a miracle, but because so many reviews on this site really recommend it- and it didn't work for me. Maybe I just don't have the right hair. It's somewhat fine, and I found this to be very drying. Perhaps take that into account if you're considering trying it out.
I do love the smell, though- it reminds me of that Hershey's strawberry syrup that you put in milk. Smells so very artificial, but nostalgia makes it work.
So, give it a shot, I guess. It's $1, so if there's a chance it might work as well as other people say it does then you've got nothing to lose. If not- then you have a great smelling clarifying shampoo to use monthly.

The smell of this shampoo smells so yummy, exactly like a strawberry milkshake - fruity and milky. It's pretty creamy and lathers well. It's a good quality buy for the price (around a dollar)

I have been using very expensive products for my hair for several years. I think I have tried just about everything except for this. I picked it up just on a whim because it was on sale at CVS. I have been using it for a month now on my long and very thick hair and I am ecstatic! My hair is so shiny and healthy and clean looking! Emphasis on the shiny, but without any oilyness. I have been wasting so much money on expensive shampoos and conditioners all this time. Proves that you don't have to spend a lot of money to get good quality.

I love this shampoo. It's a great basic shampoo and very cheap - around a $1 per bottle. The strawberry scent is amazing - reminds me of a strawberry milkshake! I love how it makes my hair smell nice and for a low price. Proof that a product doesn't have to be expensive to be great.

haha wow, i am surprised to run across this product! i used to use this when i was like 5 years old and i absolutely was in aww of the idea that my hair could smell like strawberries! this reminds me so much of when i was little and i think that maybe that is why i like it so much! but other that that it is a great nourishing shampoo for dry hair and it is awesome for a special occasion i mix it with my nexxus shampoo to keep the smell of the strawberries in. Your hair will smell AMAZING!

I used to LOVE this line. But after not using it for years, I bought a bottle. However after a few uses, I noticed I was breaking out on my scalp. I quickly changed products and never had any additional problems.

I'm sad since this is so cheap and I like the scent.

I tried this several years ago and kept it around for once-in-awhile use. I ended up throwing it out because I got tired of it. Well, I bought a new bottle last week at CVS on sale for 50 cents. They changed the formula and I hate it. After one use, my hair was a dry, tangled mess, and that's with using a moisturizing conditioner! Garbage.

I picked this up for $0.96 at Big Lots along with the conditioner. I really didn't expect wonders from a shampoo that cost less than $1.00, but I gave it a whirl. Initially, I thought this would be a great product. The smell was great and lingered well after washing, it lathered really well, and was fairly easy to rinse out. However, I'm almost done with the bottle and I must admit as much as I wanted to love this shampoo, it does nothing to moisturize my hair or keep it feeling healthy and soft. My hair feels brittle and dry instead, which is why I'll spend the extra $2 on Dove.

Exactly what I expect from a $1 shampoo. Smells great, but over time I think that the ingredients should be more nourishing. The finish left my hair try and tangled. For my phyto-laxed 4a/b dense fine healthy hair, I would much more prefer stronger moisturizing agents and a softer feel and better detangle after the final rinse. Again - for $1 I cant complain too much, but I have never repurchased the shampoo after using the conditioner, which cleans nicely for a co-wash. And it is good to know you can find VO5 $1 cheapies anywhere. When I travel on flights, I have found its more economical to just look for the closest drugstore when I land and buy this $1 product than it is to check bags for $25 to carry my higher end products. It wont ruin my hair if I use it for a weekend. For a moment these reveiws tempted me to give it another try, but I know my hair, and what it likes, unfortunately this doesn't work as well as the conditioner for me. :)

I love this shampoo! It smells amazing and doesn't irritate my skin or dry my bleached hair out.
I don't use it every time I wash as I use a colour preserving shampoo but it's cheap enough that I can keep it to use as a treat when I want strawberry smelling hair.
