Meh. Mine is sitting in the back of my drawer right now. There's nothing wrong with it (and I was happy with the natural ingredients) but it did not actually help my severely chapped lips. I still felt like it coated my lips rather than sinking in and actually doing something.

After lots of tanning in my 20's, now in my early 50's I try to always use sunscreen. I purchased this product because it was one of the few lip products listed on the skin cancer web site. It goes on really nice and feels like it will be a great product. I was very disappointed to find it irritated my lips and also caused peeling. When used in the sun it left a bright white film on my lips. For a lip balm, it was rather expensive, I am bummed that I wasted money on this product.

This is my favorite lip balm. I really love how well it moisturizes and hydrates even the most dry lips. Mine tend to crack and I tend to over use other balms, only to find that they don't feel soft. This Jane Iredale product is really worth the splurge if you have extremely dry lips. One coat is enough, any more and it will appear white.

good ingredients but it doesnt give enough moisturizer and stay power. i just dont like the lemony taste.
Zinc Oxide (CI 77947) 8%. This product was included in a basket I purchased at a charity auction. I was very disappointed. "Lip Drink" sounded so, well, refreshing, moisturizing...wet. (And, the package was sleek and chic.) Instead, this product is very waxy and drying. I, personally, don't like the lemon smell either--too furniture-polish-y for my tastes, but to each their own. I read all the reviews about the supposed dangers of petroleum products and have to think people are being sold a bill of goods on that front as well. I've stashed Vaseline everywhere for decades, use it multiple times a day, and have nothing but soft lips to show for it. I use other products primarily for color and sunscreen (and b/c I'm a sucker for trying new things with wonderful promises). While Lip Drink may supply sunscreen, unfortunately it detracts from color and is terrible as a moisturizer/dryness preventer.

This product was recommended to me by the skincare board, thank you ! Anyway, this lip drink is a balm in a lipstick looking chapstick tube. Mine is like a maroon dark brown metallic tube, not blue. The top clicks shut. It feels like burts's bees but with more slip. It smells like lemon. In fact it smells like fresh's sugar in lemon . But this is by far superior. It isn't too soft so it won't break like fresh's . And it's not filled with ugly chemicals, it has a lot of healthy oils for your lips and the sunscreen in this is zinc oxide!! Not some chemical like fresh's or even a lot of the 'organic' ones I found at whole foods like alba and kiss my face.
So why did I purchase this? I recently was addicted to the jack black lip balms they seemed so perfect, but i learned that the combination of avobenzone and octinoxate is a HORRIBLE combo for protection. It breaks down collagen and doesn't protect well against UVA rays. Meaning your lips will collect color from sun exposure and will get drier an wrinkly-er . :S not fun.... I left my jack black's for something more healthy. this lip drink has a stable mineral sunscreen that will protect your lips not only instantly, but last as long as this balm is on them. Because this is zinc oxide, it is sadly a bit whitening... But don't let this turn you off from it! Its slight but I use a little lip color to remedy this. I wish this were a bit more moisturizing or hydrating .. Oh well. It isn't drying at least . I need to re-apply at least 10 times a day- from eating/drinking etc-
Overall I give this a 4 out of 5 stars. Why? I don't like the price it's 12 bucks. I bit steep. But whatever. And i don't like the whitening or the lemon oil in it. Citrus oils are phototoxic and create free radicals when exposed to sunlight, but since the lemon oil is nearly last on the list, it may not be so bad, still i could do without it. This will be my go-to lip balm for the day till i find something better. Will repurchase if I don't find anything better
EDIT: i can't stand the white cast anymore, i've moved on to burnout's lip balm in coconut. It has no white cast, HIGHER protection and NO citrus oils, WIN!

love this lip balm! one of the best i have ever had! the lemon peel extract is very minimal and is unlikely to cause irritaion.

I decided to try this product in part because of the good reviews and in part because of the claims it makes about petroleum based products drying out your lips more. I used this product a couple of times and it dried out my lips more than any petroleum based product I have tried. I couldn't even use it for the minimum 24 hours that I try to use a product before banishing it to the cosmetics graveyard. It was expensive to boot.
I am going back to using Catrix Lip Care which is the best lip balm I have tried.

Their product guide claimed that petroleum-based products were responsible for cracked lips. Having used all types of lipsticks, vaseline and shea butter I had never faced the horrors that I went through with this product! Lip drink completely cracked my lips with only one day of applying the product every couple of hours. I will never recommend this product.

What a serious disappointment! I read a ton of reviews on here and this stuff looked like the perfect thing for my super dry and cracked lips. SERIOUS waste of money and this wasn't cheap! It actually dries my lips out and leaves a white film. The packaging is gorgeous and elegant but the product is, well, a word I'm not going to say here. Don't waste your money! Not a good first impression of Jane Iredale products.

I thought this would be fantastic lip balm with physical SPF. It has elegant packaging, natural ingredients, doesnt leave white cast, HOWEVER it dried&irritated my lips, thanks to lemon peel oil. Wasted $11,60!
Age: 30-35 Skin: Dry, Fair-Medium, Neutral Hair: Brunette, Straight, Fine Eyes: Hazel
I have to review this item because it has completely saved me from a lifetime of peeling, cracked, sore, and potentially scarred lips. It contains NO PETROLEUM BASE....THE PETROLEUM THAT IS IN MOST LIP BALMS IS ADDICTIVE AND ACTUALLY DRIES OUT YOUR LIPS!!!!! This is a proven fact...I was on this vicious drying cycle and tried nearly every lip concoction out there. The more I applied the drier my lips became, and in turn, I would apply more. INSANITY!!! This lip balm contains edible sunscreen (zinc oxide) and natural macadamia nut oil and orange oil....it's miraculous and has healed my lips! The price is 11.60 a tube and lasts quite a while. It does take some getting used to at first because its not quite as greasy and slippery as other petroleum products. Ask your Jane Iredale rep for a sample first if you want to try it out. That's what I did and I am forever grateful!

I love this lipbalm and it's my HG daytime lipbalm. I have been using this daily long over a year now.
I'm a lipbalm junkie, I have alot off them and alway looking for the new best thing. But I have to say I haven't found anything that beats this for daytime uva/uvb protection.
I live ut in the nordic regions, when the winters are cold and windy and the summers are hot and dry. This has protected my lips from most kinds of weathers, and the irritation and dryness is minimal on my lips!
I always have a backup of this at home I can't be without this.

yep. I just bought this and am lazy to review but I just have to here. This really is a great lipbalm and its GREAT with a lipstick. the moisture factor is great but it also seems to fill in lines, giving your lips a plumped look! I have used fresh too...and although this smells similiar, its just a better lip balm in that it last longer. LOVE.

I got this as a gift and I really noticed the smell first off, smells so good, just like Sprite to me actually (: The packaging is also very nice, and I thought I would be replacing my Carmex stick balm.
However, as much as I like the texture, smell and packaging, in the end it's not that moisturising and tends to just kinda disappear off my lips. Since my cherry Carmex feels thicker on my lips and has a nice smell as well, I guess I will alternate between the two depending on how dry my lips are.

Just love it! Feels great on, smells good, and the packaging feels and looks like quality. A little pricey but will buy again.
Age: 25-29 Skin: Sensitive, Fair Hair: Brown Eyes: Green
This has good protection (zinc oxide offers good uva and uvb) but isn't *that* moisturizing...I'd keep buying it for the protection alone, but wear some more moisturizing lip balm underneath. The other zinc -oxide based lip balm i've found and use is "the healthy lip butter" by Lavanilla, but that one is a bit less convenient to apply due to the squishy tube, but it's definitely more moisturizing...

Like everyone already stated, THE MOST PERFECT DAY TIME BALM!
i really have tried it all, and in comparison to Fresh's day lemon balm, which is super similar but fails in every category, take a look:
2. more moisturizing!
3. better feel on the lips.
4. not as strong of a scent, and no added fragrance. still smells like lemons though!
5. a perfect and simple ingredients list, unlike Fresh's.
6. no waxy feel.
7. it lasts for at least 5 hours, no joke! Fresh barely lasts an hour. haha
8. not as bulky nor heavy as fresh's, so fits easily into my small purse.
Age: 44-55 Skin: Sensitive, Fair, Cool Hair: Brunette Eyes: Hazel
GREAT lip balm! Not waxy, not glossy, not sticky . This lip balm glides on smoothly, keeps my lips soft and protects them from the cruel sun (SPF 15). The cap snaps into place, so it stays on the tube, regardless of how many times it flips around in my purse. The scent is subtle (slightly lemon-like) and nice. I just can't imagine what more I could ask for in a lip balm...except perhaps for a cheaper price.

I was using Alba botanica bloom terra tints spf 8 in the past. Comparing to Jane Iredale's lip drink, I'd prefer the lip drink because it has spf 15. I don't want anymore freckles on my lips :( I put it on my lips everyday before I put on any lipstick color. I like the texture, and I noticed that I use/apply less compared to the terra tints. It's a good natural product.
Edit: I won't buy this again as it makes my lips peel horribly. Thanks to the lemon oils in it. It exfoliates too much on my lips.
