Smells like sweet, woodsy smoke. The only problem is that I found it VERY masculine.

I put it on, sniffed, and thought, "oh, this smells so familiar!" I couldn't put my finger on it; it was more than just a smoky smell. Then I shared it with several other people, who informed me that I smelled "exactly like BARBECUE SAUCE". So I'm on the bandwagon with those who mention the porky/hot dog notes in it. And I love bonfires, just not smelling like GRILLED MEAT.

Bonfire was my first Demeter and one of my favorites. It smells exactly like it's name. It has absolutely no meat smell to it, it's the smell of burning maple leaves, sweeter and more "fallish" then Demeter's Fireplace, and reminds me of all the bonfires going at the Renaissance Fair in the Fall, which is ironically where (and when) I brought it :)
It is very wearable and like I said great for Fall, especially Halloween or for sniffing other times of the year to remind you of that time. I will definitely buy this one again, in fact when my 1oz. bottle is gone I will be buying a 4oz. bottle.
Like all Demeter's it fades pretty fast on the skin, but if you spray it on your clothes it will last for hours.

this one pretty much made me say "aaack!" when i put it on. when you try out the weird demeters, you run the risk of being seriously unpleasantly surprised by what they smell like. bonfire smells like frenchs yellow mustard at first whiff. it quickly dries down to an artificial smoky campfire smell with the tiniest hint of mustard. overall, its like smelling a fire roasted hot dog with all the trimmings. it gets a five for utter amusement and a happy smell.

This is not one of those fragrances you just love the smell of right out of the bottle. I think it stinks just to mist and smell, and at first I wasn't very pleased when I took it out of the box. But upon getting a little used to it and waiting for the awful top notes to die away, I like the rich, smokey smell which remains. Hey, it's not a traditional cologne fragrance, and you have to live with that in order to use it

I'm going to have to disagree with the other reviewers on this one. I don't smell anything resembling meat in this one. It smells like a smokey bonfire and the scent (at least for me) is spot on. I really like this one quite a bit and would definitely buy again.

the concept is way cool- thats why it got 2 lippies, and yes- i do smell the bonfire-ness of it, bu then i am overwhelmed by *smoked ham*! there is a porkish quality about it, smokey bacon? i did try it in my skin, and it was not so pork-ish on, but in classic demeter fashion (all together now-) it faded in minutes!

One of the STINKIEST Demeters. I totally relate to the person who said that it smells like a hotdog. It smells VERY much like you just ate a hotdog from a street vendor. An interesting gimmick, but I do NOT need stray animals following me down the street. If you're looking for a smoky smell, stick with something like Demeter's This Is Not A Pipe.

I don't know what I was thinking - ordering this without smelling it first. It is going right back. It smells like a bonfire alright, but who wants to wear that? For some reason I thought it would be more subtle. Love some of the other scents but this one made me sick.

Ssmokin'! Very cool--I think good for a summer night or fall...just a _touch_ more "foodly" than I might like. This is the first of the "smoky" scents from Demeter that I have smelled, I am wondering how it stacks up to the others. Very exciting!
