This does not moisturize particularly well. It's nice, it smells good, and the texture is good--but I don't think it moisturizes the under eye skin so much as leaves it with a smooth texture.
.
By the way, if you have this and don't particularly like it or use it: TRY IT AS A LIP BALM. It is literally the best best lip balm ever. I first tried it after reading about how Bobbi Brown thinks lip balms are mostly blah and eye creams work better. SHE'S RIGHT. I particularly like this after applying 8 hour cream at night (it sloughs off the dead skin) and then this normally during the day. So, at least it's not a total waste!

this product works like nothing else on smoothing out the area under the eyes. I have faint fine lines and this seems to completely eliminate the look of them and also gives an excellent base to any concealer. I bought this after I had a Hydradermie treatment facial (the rolls royce of facials as far as I am concerned). You only need a tiny bit according to the facialist. This is conjuction with masque nutrition confort is skin heaven. I have decided to trade in my excessive skincare buying habit for regular facials. I swear the effects of this facial lasted a good two weeks after the treatment. Worth splashing out on, imo

This has a nice gel-cream texture which sinks in nicely and moisturises well; it also creates a good base for applying concealer. However, one major problem with this eye cream is that it irritates my eyes. No matter how much I try not to get it in my eye it gradually makes its way there. The irritation is so bad all you want to do is reach for the eye bath. I managed to tolerate this for a few months as I really wanted to finish the pot! It didn't cause any irritation to my skin and I saw no difference in dark eye circles. I was just walking around with red eyes!! Will not purchase again.

Waste of money. It didn't help with either lines or puffiness or dark circles.

My eyes are terrible (dark circles, very fine lines, sagging lids) and I've tried so very many eye creams that I have at least major experience if not expertise in these products. This Guinot eye cream was recommended to me by the woman who gives me facials but in a rare case, she missed on this one. It did nothing to hydrate and nothing to diminish the appearance of the lines or the dark circles and if an eye cream isn't going to do any of those things, what's the point? Like most Guinot products, it has a very strong scent. I don't mind this in a cleanser, but putting a perfumed product on your eyes can't be good and I'm convinced it caused irritation and itching. The packaging requires sticking your fingers into the little screw-top jar, not exactly sanitary. It's expensive. And it's kind of sticky-drying when it goes on and into your skin. I tried it for a week and then it went into the trash. I won't buy again.

it has a nice texture and it does work (a bit) for dark circles, but it didn't work against the bags under my eyes; i'm 24 and right now, for me what's really important is getting rid of fine lines; well, it does NOT work for FINE LINES, al least nor for my fine lines, though this is the reason i was recommended this particular cream. appart from the light, hydrating texture...there's not much to this particular eye cream. it lasts about 4-5 months when used twice a day; i've used this cream at night and another one in the morning against pufiness, as i was told. UPDATE: my fine lines have got worse; don't waste your money.12/05/2006: I found a great treatment for eyes - it's called Revivre Age Jeunesse Eyes Zone Energizing Fluid. If u can get your hands on it don't let it pass u. Fantastic. it's not meant to remove dark circles but it hydrates so well (remember it is a fluid, not a cream). i would buy the cream 2 if i could just find it.ohh... did i forget to mantion it's only 20 USD?

I bought this eye cream on the strength of the reviews here and I'm very glad I did. Absolutely magic stuff. The cream comes packaged in a little plastic jar with an apricot lid- a little bit 80s and slightly reminiscent of my mother's Nutrimetics lotions and potions she used back then, but the product inside is secure. It is quite fragranced for an eye cream. The texture is a gel-cream which feels wonderfully light on. It does everything the leaflet promised it would do: smooths out the eye area, hydrates without clogging and causing milia, plumps out fine lines (not that I really have many to speak of- I'm only 26), and, dare I say, has lightened my hereditary dark circles. You get quite a bit of product in the jar and only need the slightest dab every time (I don't use the silly little paddle provided, I just use my fingers with no problems as yet), so I imagine it will last ages. I've used many eye creams, high and low end, and this mid-priced cream (about AUD$50 on Strawberrynet) is the best of the lot. UPDATE OCTOBER 2006: I agree with the reviwer who said the effectiveness of this cream wore off after a bit. I don't know if I'll repurchase.

UPDATE: Still loving it. Thanks to this cream the only time I need to wear under-eye concealer is when I'm really under the weather. A great change from having to layer it on every day pre-Guinot.

I think I've found the perfect eye treatment for myself. This is actually the first product I tried from Guinot. But I already started to get more! This product has a creamy texture which is sunk in right after the application. So within max 5 min. you can do your eye makeup and it doesn't peels off when you put your concealer on it.And there are more! My eye area become smoother and more radiant within 2 weeks.I can tell you that this diminishes the dark circles and fatigue as well. What else can I want! The jar is the very elegant too.I'll definitely buy again.

EDIT:As one of the reviewers mentioned before, this stopped working after a while. It simply turned into a decent cream that moisturizes the eye area.Don't expect a lifting effect after 2-3 weeks.I'm just using this one up but I won't repurchase. So I decrease the number of lippies from 5 to 3.

I loved this eye cream - beautiful to use... Sometimes my eyes craved for it! It is very gentle, soothing and a great light texture. Immediately sunk in and never made my eyes puffy as other creams have done. Would definately buy again.

I loved this cream when I bought it. It didn't affect my rosacea, and it deflated puffiness and evened out the dark circles. It immediately absorbed into the skin so I could apply my makeup right after. There is no discernable scent that I could detect. But with that all being said, it stopped working after I got through about half of the cream. I stopped using it to see if it will renew its effect later. I also do not like dipping my fingers into the cream or using the stupid paddle that I have to clean all the time. I prefer a pump - it's cleaner and keeps the product fresher. The price is not so bad given the quality.

Don't like the jar thing but the product works really well. I am only 26 but working on prevention and i have managed to scare of crows feet for now. It can irritate the eyes in the morning so just be careful when applying it. The eye area feels nice and tight in the morning and you look great. I wear contacts and it doesn't bother them.

This is one of the best eye creams I have ever used- it's very moisturising and really does make lines fade away. I'm not crazy about the smell and the packaging and rather have eye cream in a tube - but it really does work. No sensitivity reported. This actually does what it promises - finally you don't get fooled by all the other expensive brands with big promises that they are not keeping. Higly recommended !

The cream itself feels very light, sinks right in. Feels very moisturizing. That said, it is highly fragranced, doesn't do anything for black circles. I don't have any wrinkles yet. So I can't say if it does anything for them. I would not buy it again and probably I would go back to my LP eye contour cream.

Yuck, highly fragranced and made my eyes itchy and watery. I'm not normally sensitive at all.

This product made the skin around my eyes red and itchy. One eye was so swollen I couldn't open it when I woke up the day after using the cream. Be very careful with this if you have sensitive skin. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone without doing a test patch first.

What a fantastic product! After a quiet long and disappointing odyssee for the right eye-treatment I finaly bought this one after a facial at my cosmetician's. Expensive (63.- SwissFrancs) but very effective it reduces wrinkles, puffiness and circles - it just works! My odyssee is definitively over.

My mother told me I had wrinkles underneath my eyes and I freaked. I'm only 21! After trying the eye cream my lines vanished and the dark circles went away. Now I'm able to stay out all night and not have puffy eyes the next morning.

I've tried many eye creams, including the very expensive ones like Sisley and La Prairie. This one is by far the best. It firms as well as moisturise. It also smoothes out the fine lines under my eyes. I have sensitive skin especially around my eyes and this cream is does not irritate whatsoever. It glides on easily and a little goes a long way. I highly recommend this product.
