I have a tendency to rub my eyes or get watery eyes and my mascara always seems to smudge. But not with this waterproof mascara. It works very well, and the price is decent too.

I have straight, short lashes and this did not do much for me.
It did coat my lashes nicely, was waterproof, no smudges, no clumping. no flaking, and very natural looking.
But since I have short lashes, this was not so great for me. It will work for someone with long lashes, who's looking for a natural looking mascara.

It was a good mascara, extended my lashes and still looked natural - but would NOT come off. I had to actually sleep in it and have a shower in the morning, THEN attack it with make up remover again and THEN wash my face, and THEN cover the remaining black circles with concealer..

Got this as GWP so at least I didn't pay anything for it. I had a choice between another mascara and this one and I chose this because I was looking for something waterproof. I don't really know if it's waterproof or not, but I do know it ends up places that I don't want it. If I only put it on my upper lashes, in a few hours it has smudged along my lower eye giving me dark circles under my eyes. It's terrible to look in a mirror a few hours later and see a bunch of smudges under your eyes when you didn't even put mascara on your lower lashes. Yes, it's nice to have the feel of a little click when you twist the cap closed, but that's the only positive about this mascara. Big thumbs down from me.

This mascara was okay. It didn't provide much structure nor length. The brush itself clumped a lot and would constantly need to be wiped/cleaned.

I am extremely disappointed with this because the only reason I bought it was because the sales girl told me how fantastic it was. My number one requirement for mascara is that it doesn't smudge and this one smudged worse than some supermarket brands I've tried. Take your $14, go to Sephora or a department store and buy a Clinique mascara (which in my experience does not smudge at all).

UGH. This mascara is actually really awful. It didn't bring UP my lashes like every other mascara, it made them spidery. The tube is so cute, and looks so promising. It is such a glossy, dark black. I'm so mad this didn't do anything. By the end of the day my lashes were clumped together, and was flaking like CRAZY all over. Don't waste your money.

I don't know why, but this product really irritated my eyes. Thank goodness I was just testing this before I actually wore it out because this mascara just was plain itchy. I have no idea why. I do however really like the wand, it's so easy to apply and like all their mascaras, when you close the mascara tube, it actually makes a quiet clicking noise indicating that it's closed and I just love that. It preserves the mascara and lets me know if I closed it all the way. Too bad this was just not the mascara for me.

I'm really shocked that this product got so bad reviews - i love it! I have tried waterproof mascaras before but not from high end brands so maybe thats why (i have low expectations?) but in comparison to Maybelline then this mascara is way better.
This is the one of the very few Body Shop products i own. Although i do find some of their products work and this is one of them. I have this in Black and one coat is enough to look natural and have good lash definition. Two coats and its "Wow!" - beautiful long dark lashes until bedtime. And this is about as waterproof as it gets - i can wash my face with this stuff on and it doesn't budge. Yes it is quite expensive but worth it for the way it stays put. No smudges, nothing! The only thing with waterproof mascara is having to use a special remover - i bought the Body Shop's Camomile remover for this last time (talked into it by the SA of course) and because that is so expensive then it doubles the price up. I'm going to try another remover thats cheaper, but will keep buying the mascara. A great product and a definite repurchase for me.

I got this mascara from a body shop party hoping it would be excellent. But you can hardly tell im wearing mascara and i was expecting a lot better after paying over 20 australian dollars for it. I would not be recommending this body shop mascara to ANYONE i know.

I am not a fan of this mascara. No amazing volume or length. I also get clumps when using this. But it's still waterproof so it gets points for that.
The package looks okay, simple but nice. But it gets so dirty after a while. I never pump my brush or something so I don't know how that happened but there's black smudging all over the package (and that never happens to me).
Also, the bursh is probably one of the worst I have ever had.
I've had better mascaras for less money. Maybe this would do for just a little waterproof during the summer but I am not even sure it is worth the money for that.

Terrible product - I too really wanted to like this mascara. I had tried Body Shop mascara years before and didn't like it but was hoping the formulation had changed. I like their other make-up so I bought it and crossed my fingers.
No such luck - it flakes, crumbles and smudges and isn't terribly waterproof. I have raccoon eyes by the end of the day. I'm throwing out the tube because it's so bad. For $15, they really need to improve this. it's expensive and does nothing. I pay less for L'Oreal, CG and Maybelline at Shopper's or Wal-Mart and their mascaras do a much better job for $5-7 cheaper.
Pass on this mascara, save your money - it's just awful.

And... it's back to Clinique Naturally Glossy with Clarins Fix' Mascara on top.
This stuff looked good. The formula looked very interesting. Nice tube. Nice company ethics.
Where to start on practicalities? The brush is downright bad: it's too chunky and the bristles aren't fine and dense enough, so it's very hard to get right down to the base of lashes, and to apply this stuff evenly. The formula is dry, and the mascara starts to flake as soon as it hits lashes. It seems to get drier as you go along - i.e. as you redip and apply another coat, or a coat elsewhere. Bottom lashes looked sad and crumbly. Combing through between coats didn't help. Adding more coats made things worse. Trying to apply it super-fast, or super-slow and waiting between coats - nope. Wiggling the brush, rotating it upwards - no go. You name it, I tried it. I really did want to like this mascara.
If you can get around the brush, formula, and application - this is actually genuinely seriously waterproof. Apart from the crumbly, flaky, clumpy, clotty bits. Which just stayed that way. Lawks, how I suffer in the name of science.
So one lippie for actually being waterproof, and a second because I've always liked The Body Shop and what they stand for, and continue to support them under current ownership. (I'm one of those who believe that Big Boys buying up smaller ethical companies is a good thing, as I gather they are often keen to learn ethics from The Small, which is never a bad thing.)
Also, this is ridiculously overpriced. It's only a couple of euros cheaper than my beloved Clinique (*hugs it and promises not to stray again*). For goodness sake, I used to buy TBS with pocket-money when I was young, in the 80s... And this was EUR 15.40!!! And the prices are even worse in the US (if you're there, go buy Maybelline or Almay or Ecco Bella or something home-grown of that excellent ilk, and thank your lucky stars you have such good stuff on your doorstep). Daylight robbery. Especially when it's c**p.

Horrible! Not only did this stuff smudge like crazy, once it smudged into raccoon eyes, it caused my eyes to burn and itch! NOT worth the money. I'm sticking with my Almay or Maybelline.

This is one of the best mascaras I have ever used. I've used the usual Covergirl, Max Factor, etc etc and this lasts a very long time without irritating my eyes.

Smudgy!!!!!
No mascara should be smudgy, especially if it's expensive and advertises that it is "smudge resistant". Major raccoon eyes with a so-so eyelash look. It's depressing when the only mascaras that I've used that don't smudge are under $8 CAN (mark and CG Professional). Diorshow, Chanel, Lancome, etc. have all smudged! This one is a waste of money for the quality.
Not worth it... avoid!

yuck, felt very dry and didnt coat my lashes.
UPDATE: my stupidity made me re-try this (i had build up and my other mascara wasnt completely off my lashes, der). I use this daily. It stays put, doesnt flake or run even in high humidity. It does a good job at volumizing and keeping my lashes curled. I have never used a waterproof mascara as good as this one. The others seemed to be drying.

i picked this up at the bodyshop warehouse sale, and i'm glad i didn't get more than one although it was going at 3 for $19.90. This has to be one of the worst mascara i've ever used. On the first application, i couldn't see anything on my lashes. when i tried coating this on, it gave me spidery lashes. eeks. Also has a tendency to clump. The super volume one is far better, and its one that i'll buy again in a heartbeat. Not this waterproof one though!
UPDATE: i'm liking this more and more!! have changed the rating to 5 lippies as this is the mascara i reach for everyday, its a good everyday mascara subtly lengthens and darkens, and its one that i'll definitely buy again. I'm beginning to find that the bodyshop range of cosmetics is fairly good - its quality is better than drugstore brands like l'oreal and maybelling, yet the price is drugstore range.

i bought this once in a quest for a decent waterproof mascara in brown. the first time i wore it i ended up with raccoon eyes constantly all night - i kept having to go clean up the area around my eyes. however - it was actually waterproof, it just smudged constantly. after complaining i was able to return it for an exchange, but had to fight to get the store to accept it. i will never buy this again unless i can sample it first to make sure they've changed the formula.
