I use the Garnier Color Last which I believe is the newly formulated version of this. The shampoo is rubbish but the conditioner is one of the best I have tried for the pricing. This doesn't weigh down my hair at all (the shampoo does strangely enough) and really moisturises and detangles well which is great as I have really damaged coarse hair. My favourite thing about this is the smell, sort of muted blueberries and other berries which i'm in love with but smell isn't usually a factor for me, I'm much more concerned with the quality and results. The only 2 other conditioners I prefer over this are the Tigi catwalk - Your highness and Shiseido - Tsubaki (red bottle) conditioners but both are in my opinion slightly overpriced. I use this in conjunction with L'oreal sulfate free bodify shampoo and they work really well together.

I'm just copying a lot of what I wrote for the shampoo review:
This review is for the Garnier Fructis "Color Shield," which I'm assuming is the same thing...
I hated this conditioner. I have medium-length, blonde colored hair (I'm naturally blonde but have been lightening it at-home for the past year or so. Also some experimenting with strawberry blonde).
This shampoo and conditioner weighed down my hair so much and didn't protect from fading AT ALL. In fact it may have even made my color fade faster, or at least turn brassy.
I got my hair cut after a couple weeks of using this and my stylist commented that I had a ton of build-up. Not surprising. This made my hair feel heavy, greasy and gross, and didn't help at all for retaining color. The conditioner didn't help with dryness or frizz at all, either.

I used this in conjunction with the shampoo. I was sadly disappointed with my results. Both my hair and scalp got progressively drier. It does have a nice smell, but it did not do what I was expecting. I would not recommend this to anyone that colors their hair.

This is my old stand-by. I can count on it for everyday conditioning. My hair is pretty healthy these days, and I really only need basic conditioning. This never weighs my hair down and never builds up over time. I do venture off and try other conditioners once and while, but I always find my way back to this one. If you need heavy or deep conditioning this is not for you.

I find that, in general, the "for color-treated hair" conditioners are not as moisturizing as the "for dry/damaged hair" conditioners. Garnier makes some of the better "for color-treated hair" conditioners. However, as usual, my dry and easily tangled hair is still hard to comb through and difficult to untangle afterwards when my hair is still wet. The consistency is rather thin and runny and not that thick or creamy. It's nothing special in terms of conditioning or moisturizing. I absolutely love the fruity delicious smell though.

I recently started using this again and forgot just how soft it made my hair. I love it. As well as keeping my hair soft it maintains my highlights. The only downside is the smell, it took a while for me to get used to it again because at first it can be quite overpowering but I'd still recommend this conditioner. EDIT: I've noticed that using this conditioner can leave my hair dull and darker than it's natural colour, so I'm taking 2 lippies off and I don't think I'll buy it again.

This conditioner is great. It is as good as those that I have bought in the past from beauty salons and cost me an arm and a leg. My hair becomes very soft and manageable when I apply this. Also, the color does not fade and becomes much shinier.

This is my HG conditioner. I've used high end brands, and this one beats them all. I have very thick rough hair, but this one tames it so well. Now my hair is sooooo smoooooooothhhh and soft!

This is a fine conditioner. It smells good and adequately moisturizes my shoulder-length, very color treated hair. There is nothing special about this product.

I have straight, short, golden-blond colored, hair. I have used this conditioner and the shampoo exclusively for 3 to 4 years. These are the best products for me: my hair look incredibly healthy and shiny ( and at over 50 and that's not a given!).
I used to wash my hair everyday, now I use the shampoo + COnd. every other day and the conditioner alone the other days. Works very well for me and my color is more brilliant and lively as well.

I bought this with the matching shampoo, and as a combination and separately they are pretty much crap. The conditioner smells ok and feels nice while you are using and rinsing but as I blow dried the hair felt tangled and waxy, and no amount of rinsing prevented this oil slick effect. Totally not reccomended. Shame, as I love some of the other garnier products.

I've given in on the hype and bought the conditioner for my colored and permed hair. I would only recommend this for people with already smooth straight hair or wavy haired. Frizzy-prone or dry curly haired people should stay far away. If you see that neon green bottle, move far away.
Ultimately this made my hair dry and frizzier, despite that it coated my hair more than any other conditioner I've used. The slick on my hair just wouldn't wash off, but strangely my hair turned dry. The slick is somewhat disturbing because everytime you condition it would seem to build up.
Now my hair is picky, it seems to only like VIVE Smooth Intense. This felt like a fake smooth brought on by silicones.
The good points were that it smelled good and my hair felt silky in the shower. I am just glad my hair did not react to this as badly as other people's hair have. Garnier does make excellent styling products though, so don't discredit the Fructis line entirely.

This is an awesome conditioner!!! It's the best drugstore conditioner I have ever used (other than Pantene). This is much better the star beloved Terax conditioner! It gave moisture to my processed, damaged hair without weighing it down. Rave!

This is an excellent conditoner. I usually prefer salon brands but I have this one as one of my regular conditioners. Great product; well worth a try! Clean fresh smell.
May 2004
This is for the original formula which is thicker. There is a "Colour resist formula" out (both S & C).The conditioner is not as thick. Try to get the original formula if possible. It seems to work better.

This is the answer for my hair. It leaves it soft and smooth, and shiny. Right away I can tell its working. It glides on my hair and when I rinse it off, it feels smooth. Even the next mornign my hair still feels smooth, and I don't get no build up or residue.

This is a somewhat creamy but average conditioner. I do think that my naturally curly, color-treated hair needs something richer. I do like the stand-on-end bottle -- no more reversing the bottle overnight to get out every last bit! Why doesn't every manufacturer utilize this? I did rather like the strong fruit scent, but I could certainly see how the fragrance could be annoying to many people.

I really wanted to like this system of shampoo and conditioner because it was cheap, came in funky bright green bottles, and smelled like fruit. But all in all, I am not very impressed. The conditioner made my hair feel very soft while in the shower, but when I stepped out it felt a little slimy, almost as if I hadn't rinsed all the conditioner out (I had). It left my hair a little fuzzy and lifeless, but soft nonetheless. Not a favorite, but not bad for the price ($2.68 at Wal-Mart), I suppose.

I bought this with the matching shampoo. (read my review, I didn't like it). What I liked: the packaging. I like to be able to store hair products upside down in the shower so I dont have to work at getting the last bit out.
What I didn't like: the scent. Shampoo and conditioner are the only beauty products that I really care about the smell. The conditioner smelled different from the shampoo, unfortunatley. To me, it smells like a bit like body odor! Lovely, huh? Also, I think it's a bit too rich of a formula for every-day use. My scalp broke out a bit.
