I love keeping small versions of perfume in my purse, although I usually have miniatures or rollerballs. This was my first experience with solid perfume, and I absolutely love it. I bought mine on Ebay, so it was infinitely cheaper than the hefty price tag ($55!) at retailers like Sephora. The compact comes in its own white train case, and while I appreciate the vintage charm it is rather bulky. The compact inside is a bit heavy, but I like the soft leather lid. I'm not sure why you would need a mirror to apply perfume, but as it doesn't take up space I don't mind. The solid perfume itself is easy to use and I like the rich texture. The best thing about it is I can apply it pretty much anywhere without the scent permeating the air around me, which sometimes bothers others. It smells exactly like the perfume, and actually lasts longer on the skin. I like it for air travel, as liquids sometimes get you into trouble going through security. So while the packaging could be significantly streamlined, I love the product inside. Solid perfume is awesome and I will definitely buy this again.

Packaging is awesome. I love the heft of the compact, but wished it was mirrored (it's just shiny metal). I love the little leather case it comes in, but it's not necessary. The solid perfume is very dry and I need to scrape it with my fingernail to obtain enough to apply to my skin. On my skin, it has a bit of of a sheen and... I can hardly smell it. I received it in a swap. Could be it was old. Won't be purchasing because I don't feel it is worth the cost for what it is.

This is my go-to fragrance, so I bought this solid perfume to use for touch-ups during the day or for travel.

The packaging, while uber cute, is heavy and cumbersome, esp to carry in my everyday purse. The "mirror" of the compact is not very clear, so it really serves no purpose.

The solid perfume however, applies light and is not overwhelming, the way spray fragrances are in the beginning. It allows for discreet application at your work desk or a bathroom stall. It also leaves a light shimmer, which is not very noticeable (a plus or minus, depending on whether you like sheen on your body or not). Unlike a lot of reviewers, I don't mind the "greasy" texture.

If this product came in a handy stick form (like a lip balm) or even a roll-on, I'd give it five lippies, but the heavy packaging and the price (this packaging has to play into the high cost) is what is keeping it at three.

Although I love solid fragrances, and the packaging for this product is very sleek, I am not a huge fan of this fragrance, but that might just be personal preference. It is a white floral scent, and although I do find myself enjoying it sometimes, it is not something I've worn more than a handful of times. (It was a gift, if you're wondering why I even own this!) I find the application extremely greasy, I don't find it lasts too long, and my SO hates the smell.

I would like the compact itself, but it's much too heavy to carry around and the "mirror" reflects so poorly it might as well not be there. Would not recommend this product.

Marc Jacobs is one of my favorite scents in the EDP and parfum concentrations, but this solid perfume leaves me scratching my head. I actually got it as part of a gift that included a full-size body cream and EDP, so I was flabbergasted to discover that the perfume solid sells for $55 all by itself! It's just a fancy little compact of mildly scented grease that doesn't last worth a hill of beans. And you only get .13 oz. of it! Almost better to use it as a lip balm or something-- as a scent, it doesn't deliver. The compact is the best part, but still not worth $55! Save your money and get a .13 oz. liquid parfum on eBay for about $10!

The best part is the packaging. The scent is nice in the beginning, but it does not last. The sparkles are cute at first, but later it just seems tacky.

I've been trying to get more into solid perfumes as one way of getting around the TSA's liquid restrictions on airplanes, since I travel quite a bit. This is the best perfume solid I have ever used. Usually I find they are hard and waxy and the scents don't last. This is much easier to apply than most, and the scent is quite strong and lasts as long as a basic eau de toilette. It doesn't last all day, but I don't mind that since most perfumes don't on me. The packaging is so pretty that I really enjoy carrying it around in my bag and whipping it out to reapply. :) The scent is a true gardenia, which is great for me, since I love white florals. IMO, if you like the fragrance and want a solid perfume, you will like this product.

Agree with last review. This compact is heavy so you really would never carry it around. Also, the smell lasted 2 seconds. Stick with the regular EDP. I returned mine too.

I returned this expensive product because the smell lasted less than 5 seconds on me. In addition, if you dig too deep into the perfume solid, you begin to get a waxy smell. I definitely don't recommend this product.

i love this solid perfume! where to start... the sleek chrome and black leather case has a pleasant heft and slips easily into bags, or stacks well on a table or shelf. easy to control the amount used, and imparts a subtle sheen to skin along with a delicate gardenia scent. i'm partial to fresh florals, and this is definitely a must-have.

Surprisingly this perfume compact has alot of benefits. You can control the amount of perfume because you apply in fingertip increments. I tried the regular bottle and I agree the scent was strong but this compact gives me alot of control of the strength. I love the crisp Spring scent...very refreshing and natural.
