I am always surprised when I see bad reviews for this product. I do understand that for this product it is either a hit or a miss as several of friends tried this soap out with me at the same time and it only work out heaps well for my skin.
I started using this when my acne was at its full flare and I was at my wits end.. I'd tried so many products and none works until I finally give this a try and never looked back. It calm my skin without stripping the natural oils, I have oily skin and it controls it without over drying and my face always feels so clean after using it.
I'd tried changing products afterwards thinking it would be better only to have my skin over drying itself or became worse.. so this is definitely a must have in my skincare routine, no turning back!

I bought the whitening trial set @ S$32. It comes with a small soap, trial size Skin Version Up extra and Whitening dual shooter.

I am 35 years old this year, still having some clog pores and at times bad Cystic pimples. This one helps to prevent more pimples and seems to lighten my acne marks.

I also have the pore care cleanser which I don't really like. I will buy this over and over again:):)

This soap is okay but not fantastic. I was recommended this soap when I was looking for a cleanser for my acne-prone oily/combination skin, and I was told that it helps reduce breakouts and heal pimples. I was having a nasty breakout when I purchased this, and it seemed to work well at first, calming down my skin and reducing the inflammation of my pimples. It is also easy to lather when I wet the soap bar in the shower. However, after using it for a couple of months, I find that it loses its effect on my skin, and now it doesn't do anything for my acne, but it still cleanses my skin quite fine. I won't repurchase this though because I still get breakouts even after using this anti-bacterial soap which supposedly prevents breakouts, but didn't do so for me.

I have huge acne and redness on my right side of the face. While my left side is clear. Bought it and used it on both sides. In 4 days it dried out my acnes pretty well and the redness have gone down a bit leaving a slight brown tone.

It is drying (not THAT drying-skin-peeling) but better than most of the acne wash products that I have used before. Funny though, my left side did not dry out at all....just normal compared to the right.

usually test whether the product is really drying or not is by smiling. If it feels tight, its dry. A tip that I read from a blogger but I can't remember who.

The soap is unhygienic~! Ettusais sells the case that hold the soap but still.....

Great product for acne. When I finish the soap, I may buy the Ettusais's Pore Care wash, which is the liquid-bottle version of the soap.

Disappointed. Drying, pimples outbreaks still occur, doesn't help in reducing the inflammation of the pimples. Soap bar is messy. Only good thing is, it's foamy enough. I like foamy cleanser!

So-so face cleanser. Packaging problem: can this come in a pump bottle or a squeeze tube?

Secondly, this does not seem to make me feel really refreshed after cleansing, my breakouts have not stopped really. Ugh. So what did this thing do to my skin? I only knew that my breakouts have increased in frequency (but this might have been something else but the soap).

UPDATE: THIS PRODUCT GIVES ME BUMPS!!!!!!!!!! on the forehead!!! this does nothing to improve my skin

I use this for my routine cleansing and have been using this for over a year. I bought this at the local Japanese drug store for about $10. It is cheap and it lasts! I use it twice daily and I still have about a third of the soap left.
I bought this based on the recommendations from my sister. This stuff leaves my face squeaky clean and is not too harsh on my skin. It does feel a little drying though, so you must moisturize after this. I have noticed that after a few months of use, my complexion cleared up significantly. So I think it does what it claims to, but slowly and without the wow factor.
On the other hand this product does not remove makeup well (it is not supposed to though). I wear makeup everyday, and being lazy, I don't like having to remove my makeup then cleanse my face once more (which is what many Japanese seem to do). Also, as many reviewers had said, it is a soap and is not the easiest to use or store. The product came with a green plastic case and this has holes on the bottom to keep it dry. However, as the soap gets smaller, it just get stuck to the bottom of the case and I find it very hard to get the soap out, especially when my hands are wet. Also it takes a bit of time to foam.
I will not be repurchasing this as I want a cleanser that is easier to use and remove makeup as well. I would recommend this product to anyone with acne-prone/oily/combination skin who is looking for a cheap cleanser and someone who doesn't mind the trouble of using a soap.

In the very first place, i would never recommend soap as a cleanser (not even on ur body). I was given a small piece of this as sample, and out of curiosity i tried it. It actually caused irritation to my skin and dried up my skin with just one wash. Not to mention, the tot of soap (no matter how u keep it in a soap case), it is always unhygienic and not sterile. Imagine that it comes into contact with water and oxygen, dries up and then re-wetted again... Even when i have oiler days or have breakout during the time of the month, i still recommend gentle wash. Never agitate the acne. Soap for acne is a bad idea.

An okay cleanser. Did not do much to get rid of acne, plus it's a real hassle to keep. Though i put it in a soap dish, it was melting away.

I love this soap! My face feels VERY clean after washing! However, the packaging needs to be improved! After awhile, the soap literally melts! But overall, its a great product. One of the best i have tried!

i am pretty disappointed. i had good hopes for this soap and so when i went on holiday to HK i bought 2! i have used it for a few days and it has given me painful pimples and blackheads not on my nose but on some parts of my cheeks! i think that's just crazy. it has a bad smell too.

i will still try using it for a few more days, hopefully up to a week and see if it is still so poor

I bought this - Acne Clear Soap. But it does dry out my skin, even after applying Acne Clear Moisture Essence. If I have a breakout, I will use it. If not, I think I will use another skin cleanser. Acne Clear Make Off to remove makeup was ok though.

Quality: You're an idiot if you buy this after reading my review. Excuse the harshness, ladies, I just want to prevent someone else from wasting time on this product! This product is worse than putting mud on your face (re: sea mud soap review). It's not expensive, but even at its mediocre price, there are definitely better alternatives. My face was fine for a long time before I decided to try Ettusais in January. Big Mistake. Ever since I started using this soap, my face has been continuously experiencing breakouts. When I tried Mario Badescu's Drying Lotion, this wimpy soap couldn't even clean that off! If it can't even clean off something that's supposed to help your skin, just how many impurities can it banish?
Packaging: Like the other ladies have already said, it's not great.

Overall: Basically, the quality is terrible, the packaging is terrible--Worst Soap Ever.

Loves this! This acne clear soap remove impurities and dead skin cell to prevent acne, leaves my skin squeaky clean. Sometimes it makes my face tight and dry so i have to use moisturizer after washing. I wish Ettusais replace this soap with liquid/milk/foam type so it's easier storing.

I hate soap cleanser... I found it difficult to store and quite unhygienic too. The effect is not as good as I was told. I do not see an improvement in my acne after using it for 1 month.

i love this product!! This was the second Ettusais product I brought from their line after trying out the acne clear gel. I just love it. This green clear color soap is very cheap (HKD70 = less than USD 9) I don't even remember how many times I have re-purchased this item. It must be at least 4 or 5 times. It is easy to use, you have to wet it a little and work up a light lather on your hands then you can apply to a moist face. I did stop using this product for a month once. I switched to Lacome's cleansing gel. But that was a big mistake. I started to have reddish bumps on my Tzone area and it was just horrible. So after that, I quickily picked up another of this anti-bacterial soap and my reddish bump eventually went away. I normally wear make up and a bit of concealer, so I do use Lacome's makeup remover cream to take the stuff off my face first, then use this soap to clean it. It's very helpful if you can wipe the soap off with a small towel then rise you face. (you can clean better than way) Feels a bit dry afterwards, but that's ok just remember to use toner and moisturise. It's a real great item and will re-purchase it anytime!
