I just got it today in tropical scent. Its great, I've been for a chapstick i can wear while tanning and this works. I did get.a funny taste in.my mouth when i used it however, but the protection is so worth it.

I bought this in Vanilla Mint at Kmart because it was the only flavor they had. It's great- feels moderately moisturizing but not greasy, is photostable, has a pleasant vanilla scent and a slight minty tingle. I will repurchase and look for other flavors (I'm interested in trying the Tropical variety).

I have this product in the Vanilla Mint flavor. I love this stuff! It makes your lips really soft and smooth. It is great to use under a lipstick or alone. I love the way it smells. I did not notice an awful taste as others have mentioned. I will purchase this again.

Ick. Ew. Gross. Foul. Toxic. That pretty much describes the bug spray taste left in your mouth.
I don't understand, as it said vanilla mint scent but it was really minty pineapples mixed with OFF. Bleeeeech.
Really disappointing, as so many of their body sunscreens rock (like their new SPF50 lotion sunscreen).

This had a pineapple-coconut taste mixed with an awful chemical taste--ugh. Also didn't find it very moisturizing, it was too waxy and never sunk into my lips. Up for swap!

I got this in "Tropical Flavor," which smells like pina coladas. It's smooth and clear, and tastes slightly sweet. And it's SPF45 for only $2. Great deal!

I love this product!! I have the Tropical version and it smells like a light Pina Colada. The tube is 0.14 oz (4 g) and it was very cheap for $1.99! I bought this at PlaytexStore.Com (very cheap shippping).
I feel like this is somewhat water-resistant because even after I drink water, I still feel product on my lips. I don't eat my lip products so I'm never bothered by whether or not a product tastes good/bad but it smells great and due to the chemical sunscreens (which, btw, are completely SAFE) there is no white cast at all on my lips! In fact, I felt so confident in these products that I bought 2 (the Tropical and Vanilla-Mint versions) during my first purchase of Hawaiian Tropic lip products.
I really hope these lip products would be sold in local drugstores because they cannot be beat for their price!
Also, they're very moisturizing (which I didn't expect) and there's even a stamp of the American Skin Cancer Foundation on this product saying that this sunscreen has efficient UV protection.

I picked up the vanilla mint one for under $3. Love the texture, light but moisturizing, nice pleaseant scent, works well with lipstick and lip liner. Yay!!!

I love this product! i will also get the citrus scented HT lip balm. its nice because its waterproof. this is the only lipbalm that wont get my lips chapped after applying for so many times. its weird, yeah i know. but most lip balms they tend to dry my lips after re-application and this HT lip balm works great for my lips. i will buy backups of these when i hit the drugstore.

I finally managed to find these, and got the vanilla-mint (aka "Herbal Aloe") kind. The feel is pretty good, light and smooth. This is not a terribly emollient lip balm, and it sinks in pretty fast. I consider this a plus since that means it'll be easy to wear lipgloss over my lipscreen without having the color slide all over.
The scent is light and pleasant, with the vanilla more prominent than the mint. There is a slight minty tingle when you first put it on. As for the taste, all I can think of is that Hawaiian Tropic must have reformulated these recently! I tasted my lips several times while wearing this, trying to detect the sunscreen taste that so many people complained about, and all I got was a slight sweet taste. Perhaps HT added artificial sweetener to cover the sunscreen taste? Maybe it's just the original formula that tastes bad? Whatever, my vanilla-mint HT balm tastes fine.
SPF 45, UVA protection, decent wearability... I found my lipscreen! Now I can wear any of my lipglosses without worrying about sun damage to my lovely lips! A definite repurchase.

Smells coconutty like the sunblock. I love these lip balms. Photostable UVA protection for my lips. Not expensive but a little hard to find. Not at any d/s by me, but I found it at Kmart. There is a bit of a yucky taste to this, but it wasn't unbearable, and passed quickly after applying. It is worth it, as my poor cracked lips are finally beginning to heal. Will repurchase.

I am in agreement with luloo. While this stuff may work wonderfully, I cannot, for the life of me, get past the DISGUSTING taste. I don't mind if a lip balm has no taste at all. But this one is unbearable. Yick!

I love this stuff. It has a nice, coconut-ish, tropical smell. Whenever I "tasted" my lip balm (...) it tasted just fine. The consistency is light- which I LOVE. I can't stand these thick balms- ugh. I love the high SPF also! (SPF 45. woo) and it's overall a nice lip balm.

The smell and consistency is fine, but the taste is HORRENDOUS! It tastes VERY strongly of chemicals and actually made me nauseous. Unusable. I had to return it. Much better to have a SPF 15 balm that tastes good and reapply it frequently than to put up with something like this. Two SPF 15 balms I recommend are Chapstick Lip Moisturizer and Blistex Herbal Answer.

This is a great, cheap, UVA protective, photostable lip balm. It's the traditional "chapstick" style stick. I have the Original Tropical flavor, which very nice. Nice to finally have a photostable U.S. lip balm! These are selling like hotcakes: everywhere I looked originally were out (WalMart, Kmart, Meijer, Target, all of the drugstores), but I finally found it in a local supermarket. So if you can't find it, try a supermarket.

LOVE!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE! This is the ONLY SPF lip balm I have ever tried that doesn't make my lips do this wierd peely-uncomfortable thing! And it's SPF45 and (I believe) it is stable! I just *love* this stuff! And it smells delicious! I gave somebody a hug while wearing it and they said "Oh! You smell like a tropical island!" *love*

It's very thick and waxy, but that's a good thing because it stays on in the heat and the water. I use it year round...in the summer at the beach, and for lap swimming in the winter. It's also the best thing I've found as a base under lipstick/gloss. I don't like how drying a lot of lip primers are...with this you're moisturized and the waxiness causes the gloss to grip.

I have this in Vanilla Mint, and I have to say that so far I am very impressed. It doesn't make my lips greasy, has sunscreen - a big plus - and is overall a good product. It doesn't really smell like vanilla mint - more like a soft sunscreen.
