No matter how much I want to use all-natural skincare products, something (with a few exceptions) always seems to go wrong… I have so many food and pollen allergies that affect my use of "natural" cosmetics as well. Something in the Aveda Lip Tint seemed to also aggravate breakouts on my sensitive lips. I would've loved it otherwise. The shade is just perfect. It covers my pale lips with a beautiful natural-looking pink shimmer that's not too glittery. And it's SO hard to find a decent lip gloss/tint with SPF 15 or higher.

I have a pale lips, and because of my coloring...i have a hard time finding any lipshade that looks natural on me. This is the perfect YLBB lipshade for me. The only lip product that has matched my coloring is subculture lipliner by mac and this color is the right mix of rose, lilac, tan and looks amazing without needing a mirror for application, this makes me look instantly polished. Highly recommend this.

I love Aveda lip products and this is no exception. Peony is the absolute perfect lip color. It is a very light color, which is fine because I don't like lipstick. Would compliment all skin tones and is very natural looking. I put this on first, then a light coat of Aveda Lip Shine in Grapefruit Pulp. Awesome! Plus, it tastes great and stays on much longer than other lip glosses I have used in the past. Definitely a keeper.

UPDATE (2012-02-17): BOYCOTTING RE. CURRENT ANIMAL TESTING FOR CHINESE MARKET
Gorgeous - more a tinted lip balm than a lipstick, and with none of a gloss' stickiness. Plus SPF 15 from TiO2. The shades available look like they would suit a good range of naturally-occurring lip and skin shades - that is, using the tints as enhancers of what's there rather than changing one's coluring.
Peony is a very beautiful rose: pink with slight hints of beige, brown, peach, lilac - all perfectly balanced. On lighter lips, YBB: simply enhances natural lip colour. Works well with pale skin, freckles, and red hair. Leaves a slightly shiny finish, without either that excessively pornographic wet look or visible glam glitter particles. Subtle.
Deepening natural lip colour (NB effects will vary - this was on the Gingerrama colouring): Berry and Verbena are good. Verbena is more brown, Berry more plummy and redder.
It's moisturising, non-gloopy and tacky and sticky. Flavoured slightly with mint, orange, and pomegranate: the taste seems to be stronger in some of the deeper shades (I tried... well... most of them).
A keeper. Bought as a replacement for Clinique Almost Lipstick in Almost Blush - an improvement in terms of texture, finish, and SPF.
Cost EUR 16.50. No animal testing, the usual company ethics, etc.

This is an awesome lip tint/lipstick in one. I bought a tube about 3 months ago...and I'm still using it! And the thing is...I use it on a daily basis, which means it lasts quite a while. I wear this during the day, while at work, and even going out at night. It is such a subtle/natural looking color, that you can wear for any occasion and look naturally gorgeous. You can apply it heavier for a more dramatic affect at night. It can also be applied without a mirror if you are in a hurry. It gives my lips quite a bit of color, much more than my natural lip color (pale), but it looks so subtle. It's not sticky or smelly or messy. It's absolutely perfect and I highly recommend this product.

Love this lip colour. I have more lip sticks/glosses/liners/balms than anyone I know, but this is actually the only one that I use on a daily basis. Nice smell/taste, subtle but pretty colour. Highly recommended :)

Aside from my Bonnebell lipsmacker in Dr. Pepper, I use this on a daily basis more than any other lip product. It provides a very natural-looking, soft mauvey-pink color w/ a nice silvery shimmer. Also, I love the pleasant herbal mint scent. The texture can sometimes be a bit thick and pastey, esp. in the winter months when my lips get dehydrated, so I then use it in conjunction with the lipsmacker for a more emollient feel.

Got this stuff in Verbana a few weeks ago. I have dark hair, medium complexion and this stuff goes with everything.
If you want the cheap, knockoff of this product you can get the Neutrogena Moisture Shine lip tint...the packaging is exactly the same and it's a similar product, but not as good as Aveda though.
With Aveda you'll get more staying power and better color concentration than the Neutrogena version, but Neutrogena has that fruity watermelony taste if you are into that.

I LOVE Lip Tints from Aveda. I wear Peony daily and Spice sometimes as well. They moisturize and look natural. A bit pricey but the tube lasts a very long time. I buy multiples at once so that I never run out.

I love, love, love this product. I love it so much that I bought several of them so that I'll never run out. I keep them everywhere-- in my office, purse, at home. The colour is a beautiful rosy pink, but not a true pink. True pinks tend to clash with my skin tone, which is why I'm surprised that I love the Peony lip tint more than the Apricot or Nude lip tints, which I also own. But Peony is the only one I've finished and, after I finish the Apricot and Nude lip tints, the only one I'll repurchase. Again and again and again and again.

I LOVE this product! I've been using them as long as they've been around. Peony is my color of choice but have them in Spice and Berry as well.
I think I've been through six or more Peony lip tints.
I am lucky though that I work in an Aveda salon and get a discount.
I did however give it only 4 for packaging because when you get the the bottom it is impossible(w/out a lip brush)to get the last bit out(considering I keep one stashing in my purse, car, diaper bag, etc for on the go use)

I love this stuff for a subtle, everyday look. Just enough color to enhance my lips. To keep my kisser moist, I apply Mad Gabs Lip Lube first, then layer this over it. Now I have to try some of the other shades!

Love this lip tint! When I was in the Aveda salon, I saw the makeup section and immediatly was drawn to the lip tints because they're so adorable looking. The salesperson picked out this shade for me and it looks fantastic on me! It gives my lips a rosy shine with a hint of golden shimmer. And the sweet berry scent is delish. These are pretty pricy lip tints ($17.50 Canadian) but I got mine in a BOGOF deal, so I can't complain:)

I adore this blue based pink lip tint. It has a soothing texture when applied to lips but the taste can sometimes be a bit overwhelming.

this is a great product. first i have to explain that my sister deals in aveda, so i get them for free. *perks!* (i just wouldn't pay $8-11 for it when burt's bees is every bit as amazing.) i haven't tried the silver tube ones, i still have a few left of the old ones, and i found them at first to be quite...nubby? in texture, like crunchy peanut butter smeared across your lips. but the pretty pink color... so nice, and they are thick, which means more protection & less reapplication. i wear them to run, hike & workout at high altitude. i find this is just enough color to make me look alive, but not like i have bothered to apply makeup for the running trail! the 'spice' shade is even better...kind of a pale shimmery brown.

I love the Lip Tints. I am not really a lipstick wearer, so I love that I cna just swipe on a touch of color and not have to worry about feathering or touch-ups. This product is also very moisturizing, and the color doesn't flake off. And it smells *amazing*. The color is a little too pink and shimmery for me, but if I apply just a bit of it it's not too bad.

This is my everyday gloss...the shade is cool and subtle. I put a coat of Carmex (in the tube form) and then a layer of Lip Tint...it lasts a long time and leaves my kisser moisturized. A tube of this also lasts forever. Sometimes I have nightmares about this being discontinued, thats how much I love it.

I had such high expectations for this item, having read nice reviews in fashion/beauty mags. So I was quite disappointed when I finally got to buy this.
Texture is not nice -- it's like you put on a dry wax on your lips or something; color's so-so as well.
I have already swapped this item and will not be repurchasing it.

I like this much better now that it's reformulated. I agree with the other reviewers that the old version was too shimmery and frosty to use for anything but going out. But the newer version (silvery grey package) is more subtle. Very nice.

this is a nice lip product. it's a tinted balm in a tube, with flecks of silver glitter in it. the flecks of glitter are quite apparent in the tube, but once on, it's not so bad. it's very moisturizing, and nicely glossy. when applied, the color looks like shimmering, rosy "bitten lips" or lips with a bit of a pink popsicle stain. the only gripes i have about this product are #1- the size of the glitter, as they could stand to be a whole lot smaller, and #2- the price! hoo boy, this is one expensive chapstick, and if i lost mine like the reviewer below, i'd cry too. i paid almost $20 CAD for this little baby, and while it's nice, it's not worth that much. if you like aveda, then go for it. but if it's something that you will use religiously every day as chapstick, then maybe consider buying something comparable and cheaper so your wallet doesn't take such a hit.
