I actually really like this product, and it does work for me. Usually, after about 4-5 days of putting it on at night, my dark circles almost disappear, but I have run out, and can't find it at any stores.

Hopefully the reviews on this product will save members some heartache. This was the worst cream I have ever used in my life. It dried my eyes out and gave me horrible undereye wrinkles. I had used it at night and when I woke up the next morning, my eyes looked like they had aged 10 years. Avoid this product!

I concur with most of the reviewers here--worthless product that does nothing but make my sensitive undereye skin sting. Avoid at all costs.

I used this religiously but it just didn't work. Try St. Ives Cucumber & Elastin eye and face stress gel instead.

I don't usually bother to write product reviews but I had to for this because I don't want others to suffer like I did. After about 3 weeks of using regularly, my eyes became swollen and itchy, and turned bright red. The swelling has calmed down after 5 days but it is still red and my eye area has become drier than usual.
One of the most ghastly and torturous products ever. Boo on St. Ives!

I bought this about a year ago, and being a naiive eighteen year old, I thought just by using it within a day, some miracle will happen and my circles will minimize greatly. I have light olive skin and dark hair, so I tend to have those grey-ish half-circles underneath my eyes... except, enhanced due to pulling all-nighters. So, I was hoping this product would do the trick.

Goodness gracious. I would -NOT- recommend this product at all. I put it on the night before, and the next morning, my eyes' circles seemed to have "sunk in" (instead of puffy, it's the opposite, making me look even more tired and older). Plus, this stuff stings and doesnt seem to really make me look any more rejunevated. It sucks. Period.

After reading so many bad reviews, I thought I was the only one who had a bad reaction to this undereye cream. Boy, was I wrong. It was a while back when I first knew about this eye cream after going on to St. Ives' website and, being a cheap skate I am, I was looking for coupons and I came across this cream. I was thinking St. Ives, trusted, dependable, cheap and my mom uses it and she has very sesititive skin. I was like, what the hell, give it a try. And of course, I brought it and for like 10 bucks, OUCH..That was a lot of money for someone who didn't have a job and going to school back then. I thought it was worth it to get rid of my undereye circle. Later on that night, I put it on and of course like any girl out there I excepted a miracle. I got one surprise miracle the next morning. My whole eye was swollen and puffy and the skin under my eyes was red and peeling. I was like, Oh man. What a waste. I stop using it and the redness and peeling lasted for a week. It was bad.

I bought this a couple of years ago when I was looking for something to help my dark circles. I remember it was the formulation with Vitamin K..it said nothing about retinol.

To make a long story short, the next day (which happened to be my 1st day of college), my whole eye area was SWOLLEN, red, and itchy. I had to wear a hat all day and avoid eye contact. It was that embarassing. I couldn't even see very well!

I threw the product away after that. I can't believe so many other people have had bad reactions too..that should say something!

Used this product for one week, woke up to swollen yellow eyes. The skin underneath my eyes turned yellow, and to make matters worse it burnt my skin right through. It took me 2 weeks to get it back to normal, not to mention the pain that came along with it. WILL NEVER BUY IT AGAIN.

I've had this for 3 or 4 years. But it does help with the purple under my eyes (though this may be because it is yellow rather than because of any vitamin K). It works better for me if I put it on in the morning under my makeup than if I put it on at night. It doesn't sting my eyes at all. (Little does.) Not bad, but since it's lasted me 3 years already I don't expect to be buying more soon.

I would not buy this again for the simple reason that I have so many beauty products and am always keen to try most every new thing that comes out on the market. I thought that this was just ok, meaning that it reduced my very light occasional undereye circles only somewhat; nothing earth shattering or miraculous. I did not have any kind of adverse reaction with this as some of the other ladies here, and felt the yellowish cream had a light consistency which I like. I wouldn't call this a HG product, at least not for me, but I'm sure for some, it could work. As has been said here before, do make sure you get the Vitamin K version, not the retinol, as that can be very hard on the eye area and very irritating as well.

Got a minute? Here is my saga: I tried the Vitamin K formula one evening
and almost exactly 24 hours later my eyes started to tingle. It was so
slight I dismissed it. The following morning I awoke to bright red eyes
that were almost swollen shut! I thought I was having an adverse reaction
to the shellfish I ate for lunch the previous day, so off I go to the
emergency room to get a cortisone shot in my tail (I'm not kidding)!!! Now,
not only had I never had an allergic reaction to a cosmetic product in my
life, I also have a tendency to believe that if a little is good, then more
must be better, so pretty soon, I slather this stuff on again. That's
right, this lady isn't going to have undereye circles, and besides, this
product promised RESULTS! Well, guess what?! I used so much cream the
second time, the swelling was even more severe and I had to be driven to the
Emergency Room! I assured the doctor that no, my boyfriend hadn't laid a
hand on me but yes, my eyes felt almost as bad as they looked and may I
PLEASE have another cortisone shot? A few hours later and I'm fine (I took
some pictures of myself before the swelling went down just for grins). I
don't know if it's the "Vitamin K" in this cream or what, but needless to
say, not only did I throw it away, I haven't tried another undereye circle
cream since. With the $100 emergency room deductible on my insurance, this
turned into a costly experience in vanity. After buying the tube of cream
and two visits to the ER, I invested about $215 in my little adventure.
Alas, I still have those pesky dark circles under my eyes, but there's
always concealer and at least they don't sting and burn! This stuff isn't a
tube of undereye circle cream, it's a tube of heartache and misery - BEWARE!

this stuff is pretty awful. not only did it sting my skin (which is okay since it was slight), but it made my skin peel. My dark circles are still there after 2 months of using it! (sigh) still shopping for that undereye circle eraser.

St Ives Vitamin K Dark Circle Diminisher: this is the only product which got rid of my hereditory dark circles, when I thought nothing could get rid of them! The price is around 8-10 GBP in the UK, which to me is fairly cheap considering I live by more costly cult brandnames.

The packaging is discreet, nothing fancy, but the contents more than make up for it. Apparently, St.Ives have reconstituted the retinol in favour of Vitamin K and have also backed the success of this product with *gasp* real test results. I guess the retinol was not a wise choice when it came to fiddly application around the eye area and reformulating their concoction with Vitamin K was the ideal move. Method: Apply a tiny amount of the product at night-time to eye area, avoiding the eyelids. This product did not sting me, nor did it cause any kind of reaction. Make sure you don't apply too close to the eye.
St.Ives claim results can be seen in around 7-8 weeks, and this is true. My eye area definitely looks brighter considering before treatment, and I found that I didn't need to keep using it to maintain the results. In fact, I wish I hadn't bought an extra two tubes because I find I don't need them and now they're lying in my cupboard doing no good. I think this product is a good substitute for something like the Peter Thomas Roth Vitamin K Eye Rescue because it is only a fraction of the cost and for me, it certainly helped. However, for those that St.Ives didn't help, I would definitely recommend the PTR Eye Rescue, if only as a sample.
Conclusion: definite 5 stars!

If I could change one thing about my face it would be my dark circles. I realize now that the only thing to do is conceal them--no cream can actually change them. Not only did this product fail me in diminishing my dark circles, it didn't even at least serve as a decent moisturizer. It actually sensitized and dried out the skin around my eyes. I don't like throwing out a full product, but I eventually just had to toss it. And it's not cheap for a St. Ives product, either.
