When my hair gets that dead, oil, limp feeling I use this shampoo. It's a clarifying shampoo so not good for everyday use because it is very drying. It has a very clean lemon scent thats fresh enough but not perfumey. It also make a rich lather. It seem the more lather I get the bouncier my hair is when it dries. Wonderful hair pick me up. One bottle seems to last a year.

It took ages to find a shampoo that works for my fine and oily hair. This is great, cleans properly but doesn't dry it out.
It has a pleasant lemon scent.

I would buy again without a second thought. I bought this after attempting to dye my hair back to my natural light brown. It came out too dark though and so I quickly realized that I would need a clarifying shampoo to strip some of the color. I picked this up at a salon close to me after realizing I had no more of Suave's daily clarifying shampoo. It did the trick and now I'm back to my normal hair color. I also use this after a coconut oil pre-shampoo soak and it does an amazing job of removing the oil left on top of the hair shaft, but doesn't leave my hair dry. I love this shampoo and would recommend it to anyone who wants to fade dye, remove build up from oil, products, ect.

I was looking for a clarifying shampoo & read a lot of reviews before trying my luck with Shampoo Two. I am rarely speechless but this product blew me away. When I touched my hair I was brought back in time to when I was around 11 years old and still had virgin hair.
I was not blessed with daughters and thankfully out of my 3 sons my 14 yr old 'baby' is a product junkie like his Mom. I raved about the shampoo to him & told him he must use it in the am when he takes a shower. Well he was amazed as I was.
I have fine, blond, color treated hair & have been battling some thinning so I will use this every 10 days or so. My son is 1/2 Asian Indian & has a full head of black, thick hair & he uses it twice a week.
This was my first clarifying shampoo I've tried...I have no plans to try anything different.

This has been a wonderful product. I have a very oily scalp and pretty dry ends. I love the feel of a clarifying shampoo but found that all others were too drying for everyday use. This helps to keep my scalp grease free and is gentle enough on my ends for everyday use. I have finally found a solution for my combination hair.
...my hair is fine but I have lots of it. Also, I've been using a few different Paul Mitchell conditioners which seem lovely too.
Update:
I still think this is a good shampoo, but after several months it seems to be drying my ends. Given that It's a clarifying shampoo, I might have been silly to think that it wouldn't eventually dry my hair with everyday use. I will still keep it in my line up, but probably slow down to once or twice a week.

My favorite shampoo, and I usually don't expect much from shampoos. I have bushy/ curly biracial hair and I use this one or two times a month depending on how much product I use. The smell is light and lemony, a little bit goes a long way. I section my hair, lather up my scalp, and let it rinse down to the rest of my hair. Leaves my hair bouncy and insanely shiny every time. Never drying.

Shampoo 2 kicks ass at cleaning deeply without feeling like straw after.I use this maybe once or twice a week to degunk my hair after using all the product I do. It has a super slight and fresh lemon scent and lathers up well and rinses clean. A must for people that do use a lot of product.

This is a very effective clarifying shampoo. I like to use this every 2 weeks or so and it gives my hair a fresh start. I like to deep condition afterward since the hair is so clean. I really like that this shampoo is deep cleansing but not overly drying. I have kinky curly hair (african textured) that I am growing out of a relaxer, so it tangles easily if I don't use a really moisturizing shampoo, but this doesn't make things worse at all. Will repurchase when I run out, which is funny because in general I don't really like most Paul Mitchell shampoos (love his conditioners/treatments, though).

Well lately my hair has been seriously oily and flat due to the summer heat. And my hairstylist told me to wash my hair with clarifying shampoo at least once a week. This shampoo has helped tremedously, but its drying out my ends (duh! it strips moisture), so I have been using extra conditioner on my ends, just hate to deal with split ends and oily hair. This is a good shampoo but not good enough, i used to use Biolage Normalizing Shampoo, I may try that again.

As another reviewer noted, this is great for summer and for people with an oily scalp. I was developing a very itchy scalp and lank hair, turns out the shampoo I was using wasn't getting the job done. This cleared it up right away, but without stripping. When you tend to have a oily scalp, it's hard to find a shampoo that will effectively clean without stripping, particularly ends. This does the job nicely.

I use this shampoo during the hot weather from May to Sept for my oily scalp. It works really well & makes my hair soft & clean looking for 3 days :) In stores this product is expensive but since my mom is a beautician I get it for free. Really great product for people with oily hair!

I bought this after my hair dresser recommended to use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove residue from products and oil to make my hair shiny. Its pretty cheap to buy. I like the lemon scent, smells fresh. I find the shampoo is a bit runny and that I need a lot to really feel like my hair is clean. Sometimes I have to wash my hair with it twice to really make it feel clean. I feel that for the price of this is does what it says. Im not to fond of the bottle it comes in. I bought one and it was cracked at the top so everytime I went to use it it poured out the crack.

It was accidental that I bought this -- I wanted to get Shampoo Three, which looks identical to Shampoo Two in packaging & both say they clarify, so I was a bit blindsided by the fact that they both do the same thing but on different levels.
Shampoo Two removes buildup (& smells lemony) & Shampoo Three removes buildup & chlorine deposit (& smells grapefruity).
When I realized I bought the wrong shampoo I decided to try it anyway, as I felt I had a lot of silicone buildup in my hair in addition to chlorine & other hard water minerals (which was why I wanted Shampoo Three in the first place).
I love the fresh tart lemon scent & found the 100% clear shampoo to be rather runny, so I had to lather twice, first to remove some of the muck & then to get my hair completely clean.
Worked well. I dislike the Paul Mitchell packaging (flat top dispenser) especially since the formula is thin & runny but have otherwise no problems using this product. The bottle hasn't gotten messy with shampoo, though I'm always nervous about that possibility.
This cleaned my hair nicely but didn't over-strip. It's gentle enough to use a couple times a week (that's my limit).
Although this wasn't my originally intended purchase, I would buy this clarifying shampoo again. It was just $10 at the drugstore.

I have bra-length, stick-straight, super-thick hair with a very oily scalp, but normal ends. Any other 'oil control' shampoo on the market would either split my ends to shreds, dry my scalp out do dander, or do nothing it claimed it did and leave my head greasy.
This was my answer. I now only wash my hair every other day and it still looks fine by the end of day 2, though I wash it anyway. My scalp doesn't dry out, and my ends don't get ragged. Its perfect!! It also has a very very very light citrus-y scent, very pleasant but certainly not overpowering.
I should also note that I do not use any heat treatments on my hair, including blow drying, curling, or straightening. Also no hair spray/gel/mousse. I use only 3 other products in my hair, Paul Mitchell Detangler, Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum, and Back to Basics Rich Moisture Shampoo in Coconut Mango (only when it gets very dry in the winter time).
I love love love Shampoo Two, and recommend it to anyone with an oily scalp!

My hair is oily so i have to wash it every day. I was searching for a shampoo that I could use every other day hoping that would keep my hair clean. This shampoo didn't work though I felt my hair clean for a day. It really dried my colored hair as well and I had to use a tone of mask and leave-in conditoner in the ends. I would not buy this product again as I saw nothing better that a drugstore cheap one. I hope I will find a better one!

I prefer shampoo 1 or shampoo 3 over shampoo 2.. lol. Shampoo 2 is kinda useless to me when the other 2 work really good as well.

I bought this shampoo because I have very oily hair (not color-treated) that needs a washing every day. In addition, we moved to a new house with harder water and I wanted a nicer clarifying shampoo.
I love the smell -- it is just like lemondrops. However, I have to laugh at the claim of "extra lather" on the bottle. It honestly makes the least lather of any shampoo I've ever tried, even in softened water. I have to use a lot of product on my short hair. Overall, it's a nice shampoo and cleans well, but I think cheaper brands do a comparable job.

I used to use this shampoo every time I washed my hair when I had blonde hair.. until it started to REALLY irritate my scalp. Paul Mitchell shampoos in general irritate my scalp. This shampoo is brilliant if you want a really deep clean, but I wouldn't recommend it for coloured hair (unless it is blonde/bleached) or for every day/shampoo use. It will make your colour deteriorate if you tint it, but if you have blonde/bleached hair it will keep it brilliantly vibrant. I still occasionally use it if my hair is exceptionally greasy, but it isn't my 'go to' shampoo anymore.

I go through this stuff like toilet paper. It is my all time favorite shampoo, and I haven't really used anything else for the last five years (I do the once-a-week thing with Neutrogena's Anti-Residue, but I don't consider that cheating). I love the lemony smell, it's not too heavy, and it really gets your hair clean. I have thick wavy hair that's pretty long (right to the bra snap...it gets caught sometimes!), and I tend to use a lot of styling products, but I always know that I'll get a fresh start every day because of this shampoo. I don't find it terribly drying either, and I do use it pretty much every day (I tried to do the every other day thing, but it's so hard not getting my hair wet in the shower and there's no way I'm not showering every day) It's really hard to find though, even in salons, so I tend to buy it online, and next time, I'm going for the liter size with the pump.

This is the best shampoo I have found for fine, thin, oily hair. I have to wash my hair daily or it looks like it hasn't been washed in a week LOL. Only need to use a small amount to get a good lather and not too tangled to comb through. I follow with super sculpt styling glaze. I like that Paul Mitchell products don't test on animals and aren't too fragranced.
