It's a nice concept, but badly executed. The powder is chalky and hard, so unless you want to scrub at it with your brush, I suggest you to look elsewhere. It does the job and contains a lot of product, but I never use it because of its poor pigmentation and the fact that I already own so many shadows, so I really don't need these "topcoats". It's a fun product for younger girls (albeit I'm 19), but I will never see myself using this.

I really like this product. I think it's pretty unique. It has 4 colors; pink, blue, green and yellow and you can use them over any eyeshadow and it will change the color of the eyeshadow. Like if you put a dark blue on your eyes and then use the green over top it gives kind of like a peacock look thats really pretty and shimmery. and also you can use it alone and it's like a really nice hint of color..there's not a lot of pigment at all. It was pretty expensive but I've had mine for like 2 years and I've hardly used any so I think it's worth it. It's nice for just something new to try :)

I like the product, I just feel that there are cheaper alternatives out there that give the same effect. I use it very simply. It gives shimmer to more boring eyeshadow and it really helps with blending. The you can usually find something that will work with any eyeshadow combination in the four colours. The packaging is ok with the screwtop and rubberized coating but I still don't think that its worth the money.

This thing will last me forever!! I only need a small amount to transform any eyeshadow I own! I Especially love the blue over their Aquatica eyeshadow. The product in the picture is old, there is now only 3 colors: gold, pink and blue. And it costs $28, not $32 now so some of the older reviews are on the pictured older product. I also think that it is very finely milled just like their eyeshadows (LOVE by the way) so maybe they upgraded the formula? Overall I would purchase it again. However, I only reach for it on days when I have a lot of time and am feeling creative, which is about 50% of my week. Still a great product!!
EDIT: I love using these as a wash over the lids. They brighten but add a hint of color. Love it since the weather is warmer and I play less with my eye makeup.

I bought this because it was different and versitile. You can wash the lid with it or use it over top of shadows to change out the look and color. Layering is fun and this seems fool proof. I use it over stila kitten to take off some of the overly glittery look. The price is cheap if you look at how much product is in there and should last a looooong time! Update-I'm slow to reach for this but I'm still glad I have it.

I really love this product. I bought it specifically because I was looking for a color that matched the blue fourth. When the blue forth is watched it's the most beautiful pale iridescent violet. It's pretty cool topped over dark shadows, but I like it most as a highlight!! Definitely worth the money IMO.

I am loving this. I realize that it is not the smoothest shadow out there but the effect that they have on what ever look I am doing is worth the extra effort. I have used this on cheeks, eyes, lips you name it. I find myself reaching for it almost every day and for me thats a big deal. The iridescent shadows can change a shadow completely. If you have the time and inclination to play around, this is for you!

i love this product with their Envy eyeshadow it makes the color flecks in the eyeshodow pop out so if you put the blue eye illusion color on and then the envy, it will make like a dark matallic blue color. soooo pretty!!!!

A little definitely goes a long way with this. IT took me a lot of trips to Sephora trying less expensive palettes in similar shades, to finally decide to bite the bullet and get his one. I'm very glad I did. When you look at it, it doesn't seem like much, the texture seems a little hard and ... well, what's the big deal? Then i got it home and started to play with it! I've usually opted for the dramatic as far as makeup goes, so a lot of my shadows are darker and deeper shades. I've been changing my look and this is perfect for me because I don't have to buy twenty new colours, I can change the ones I have! When I go out, the usual look for me is smoky eye. Now, with my movement towards softer looks (and it doesn't have to soften, it can make looks more dramatic, this is simply how I"m using it), I can easily go from Queen of the Night to Fairy Queen.
I also wear the colours on days when I don't want to look like I'm wearing makeup for a soft, did I see a faint shimmer? kind of thing. It really is incredible because of this versatility. It is worth the price because it will clearly last forever and it can be as subtle or dramatic as you choose.
UPDATE: I find that I don't reach for this as often as i planned. I still think the colours are beautiful, but the powder itself seems to be hard to lift, making the effect less dramamtic since there is less colour to play with (unless you really want to fight with it). Jury's out a little on this one.

I agree with the previous review that its a huge pan, having 4 colors of highlighting eyeshadows. I like the good thing about this shadow is that you can play around with colors. You can always bring out all your eye colors that you have and try applying the Eye Illusion on top of your eye color. It can turn out to be something different, especially on those darker eye shadows. And this is very interesting to play around with. The down side of this shadow is the texture, that is why I am only giving 3 lippies. Its quite coarse and chalky to me. I am very particular on cosmetics quality and texture. If you are one, then I suggest you don't buy it unless you really like to play around with colors. I will still keep it for the fun of it, but will NOT repurchase unless they can come out with a fine quality texture.

This is a huge pan, in comparison to other eyeshadows - it's the same size as Smashbox Soft lights, divided into four pale, opalescent shades of golden pink, pink, lilac, and golden green. I would never have bought this to use by itself, but this is handy for playing with e/s colors. The shadows are have a nice smooth texture and blend nicely. I use one of the Eye Illusion colors as a highlight or light base wash, or blend on top of darker e/s to get the right effect or shade. Also useful for taking the edge off of an unintentional smoky eye look. Nice product. I don't reach for it often (so one lippie off the rating), but I wouldn't swap it away!

I love it! It helps me create a new shadow colors every day, depending on my mood. That is why; it is called "eye illusion". If, e.g. I use a bright green (de menthe by MAC) as a base and cover it with the blue from this set, the result is a gorgeous green frost. If I mix the same base with the set's yellow, it gives me (ah!) pink! I guess, if you like to play with colors, you would love this set.

Very expensive! But I really like all the shades and the fact that they're all in one package. I use the yellow one for a natural look and the green one to give my eyes an awake, fresh look. I just wish that they gave me more for the price I paid! It's very easy to apply and blend and goes well with my Smashing Keylight in Flaxen WHICH THE RAT B*STARDS have discontinued!!!! waaaaaaaaah :( I hate when that happens!!

Haven't tried this out, but for a cheaper alternative check out Victoria's Secret quad that looks like this--seems to be the same stuff but only $15 instead of $32!!

Save yourself a few bucks and go get the Hard Candy Dillusional quad instead. I was gonna buy this, thinking it was more intense than the dillusional, but I went to check it out, and the pigments seem "watered down" compared to HC. The HC quad is much more intense and way more fun in my opinion. I also don't like the way that smashbox copied HC. I hate when cosmetics companys do that.

I wasnt overly thrilled with this product. It contains 4 shades of various white shimmer shades (pink blue green peach) which really look pretty on their own or can alter the color of different shadows. However, the effect isnt all that dramatic. Some color change but its not like i had new shadows! Its also alot of effort to be applying all this different stuff so i barely find myself reaching for this in the morning. Better for someone who likes to play. I am glad I have it but I will rarely use it and i cant imagine using it up! Would be a nice purchase for creative people.

It was awesome! I just bought it and was hesitant, thinking it was a waste of money. After all, any of us can put lighter shadow on top of dark. BUT- this wasn't light-colored. It was just colored shimmer. It's like a layer of pink or gold or blue or green shimmer you can use as a highlight or on top of a darker color. It's SO neat. It's not glittery, just gorgeous shimmer. It gets 5 stars from me!

I like this eyeshadow set. the effects you get are amazing, but due to the fact that it is so expensive, i wont be repurchasing. i dont think i need to anyway because theres so much product in the container!
