I have been using this product to wash my hair for over a year now. Other users on this site have mentioned that it does not lather very well, especially when the scalp is oily, and I agree. However, this -IS- a product which is meant to be gentle. I live in a climate which necessitates everyday washing and this shampoo does the job well.

I recommend wetting the hair thoroughly, pouring about a 2.5cm/1-inch-diameter-sized amount for short hair (up to shoulder length) and then concentrating the lather on the roots and letting the run-off from rinsing cleanse the rest of the hair. I find that this leaves me with a clean-feeling scalp with a nice amount of natural oils to finger-comb and distribute through my hair while it dries naturally, such that I never need conditioner. (*OK note that I have rather straight, thick-growing hair so individuals with thin hair might just want to sorta fluff it out instead. Don't agitate your roots*)

I have also found it to be suitable for mixing with baking soda to create a clarifying shampoo (since I style my hair with wax and hairspray quite often). You DO need to follow up with a conditioner or hair oil after this though.

Longer hair might benefit from slightly more shampoo (my sister who has mid-back length hair recommends around 3 cm /1.5 inches.) Alternatively, you might want to shampoo a second time using a smaller amount.

*One lipstick off because c'mon... what's good for me does not always work well for every one else. Peace =)

I use baby shampoo clean makeup brushes as well. I use either the Wal-Mart or Target store brand -- they are identical and much less expensive. Baby shampoo can also be used as an eye makeup remover -- remember, no more tears.

I use this to wash my makeup brushes and it is amazing! I used to use trader joes hand soap(green bottle) to wash my brushes cause it's all I had and it made my brushes kind of rough & scratchy afterwards. This shampoo makes them feel so soft and they feel softer than when I first purchased them! Definitely recommend this for makeup brushes.

I've never used this on my hair, just my makeup brushes and sponges. I could never bring myself to spend money on the MAC brush cleaner so I got this instead. It works better in my opinion and it's a hell of a lot cheaper.

This stuff is chock full of garbage. Please read the ingredients list before you go applying this to your unsuspecting children. There is ample evidence to suggest that the ingredient polyquaternium-10 does not belong in any shampoo, let alone a baby shampoo. They also include artificial dyes and perfume, which probably serve as irritants to sensitive skin. The presence of phenoxyethanol is also a red flag, as it comes high up on the list of ingredients when there is a concentration restriction imposed (no more than 1% of the formula). They have created a more natural baby shampoo since they received a lot of flak for the formulation of this one. While it is great that they took measures to change that, they should have discontinued this product if they were really interested in health and safety.

**NOTE: I don't use this as shampoo!!

Before my son was born I received many bottles of this shampoo in baby shower gifts. I don't use it on him as I prefer other brands for many reasons, but I didn't want it to go to waste. I heard it worked well as a makeup brush cleanser and being on a budget, I gave it a try. It's gentle and effective and leaves my makeup brushes and sponges clean and fresh smelling. Why pay a premium for a more expensive product?

Bottom line:
Do I recommend this for use as shampoo? No.
Do I recommend this for cleaning makeup applicators? Absolutely.

No baby of my own (LOL), but I use this anyway because I read from many blogs that either baby shampoo or antibacterial liquid soap are get for cleaning makeup brushes as alternatives to the more pricey makeup cleansers. So far my makeup brushes are as soft as ever, and smell very clean after a washing!

I was using head and shoulders and it really irritated my scalp causing me dandruff and awful frizzy hair!! I decided that I need it something gentler and this aliviated my irritation, making the dandruff and frizz disapear. It isn't a supper dupper shampoo or anything, but it cleaned my hair very well. The only thing is that it doesn't latter much, wich I've heard is a good thing, but it's makes me use too much shampoo every time.
Definitely repurchasing(:
