Totally agree with the other reviews here, it's a peachy yellow, but it's more peachy/orange, and I just don't love it. It reminds me of Fire Opal, but Fire Opal is more irridescent and golden, and works on my fair skin much better. I just can't pull of orangey or yellowish colors. I wouldn't get it again.

When I first applied this golden-peachy shimmery eyeshadow to my lids I thought, "Good Lord, what have I done???"
But after applying a crease color (MAC Cranberry, well blended) and some black gel liner to upper lash line, then MAC Rite of Spring on the brow bone... it all came together for me. (whew!)
I can't see myself reaching for this kind of Joy everyday (little joke there), because it takes a little work to make this color look good on my skintone (NW20). For me, this is definitely not a "wash" color! I would look like I was jaundiced if I used this as a wash on my lid! But~ it works when you mix it with other complimentary colors, so I will keep it around; but it won't be my most beloved eyeshadow in the drawer...

looks like i'll be rebuying this. i've pale skin and blue eyes and this is quite flattering but the color itself is just very pretty. i like it as a wash with saline solution as well as on the lower lash line. would be cool to find a waterproof liner to mimic this as it doesn't have the greatest lasting power even when i use a base.

Joy is a shimmery golden peach shade that looks fabulous as an all over wash. I've been wearing this almost every day lately because it looks so pretty on its own. Usually I pair this with a bronze eyeliner like Stila Bronze Smudge Pot or MAC Teddy, but it also looks great with greens.

Joy is a glimmer from Bare Escentuals. Since its a glimmer it has a ton of shimmer to it. Joy is a shimmery light gold. Super pretty, nicely pigmented. BE is messy but some shades are worth it. Must layer over a good solid base though, like MAC paints. Retails for $12 and comes in a round pot with black lid and no sifter. Average shade but very pretty.

A gorgeous shade, a staple from spring to late fall when I'm tan. I love the glow it gives my skin, and use it as an all-over color from lash to brow. It's great paired with a darker green or a warm brown.

My intention was to get True Gold, but when I tried it on in the store, I wasn’t thrilled. Then I saw Joy. It’s a brighter, warmer gold that made my brown eyes pop. It’s pretty close to my Melon pigment, but it goes on much smoother. This one is definitely a keeper.

A very beautiful iridescent gold with peach notes. Looks great on the eyelids or on the browbone, or as an all over on the eyes with a brown or black eyeliner, since its too sparkly I wouldn't really use it in conjunction with another shimmery eyeshadow.

This is a nice peachy color with golden shimmer. It showed up like a very natural gold on my lids...very pretty. Many golds are too yellow and flashy on me, but this was very subtle because the peach really tones it down. Although not one of my favorite glimmers, it's very pretty. As with all BE shadows, a base is necessary for this to last and I find the containers to be frustrating because it's so easy to spill so that's why I knocked off a lippie.

Joy is such a pretty peachy-gold glimmer. I love how the gold or the peach can really be played up or toned down against my GGG skin, depending on the base or other eye shadow it's paired with. These, however, are not the most crease-resistant eye shadows, hence the three lippies. I've tried the BE glimmers with all of my bases, and they just don't wanna stay put. And, it is a tad shimmery for my taste. In theory, I love this color, but it's not practical for my oily lids.

Oh how I love this color! I agree with groovynub's description of the shade. This actually works well as a wash shade for me, but I always layer it on top of a MAC paint & use a light hand. This looks great layered with Canton Candy, which brings out the pink & tones down the gold. Definitely one of my favorite BE shades.

This is sort of a butterscoth-pink color that's very pretty. It would be even prettier on a paler girl, but I love it nonetheless.

BEautiful shade. Light peach with gold shimer. Just a hint on the tops of the apples of my cheeks has a brightening, healthy effect. This also seems to brighten if just a hint is used on the eyelids or the brow bone. If JUST ONE of these areas is highlighted with JOY it seems to open up my face and makes me look just a little bit better. I have a sample of this that is going to last a long, long time....but will eventually purchase this shade again.

The color of Joy reminds me of a cross between Antique Pearl and True Gold glimmers. It's a beautiful peachy yellow color. It was only available as an auto delivery color so I try to snatch up samples whenever I see them for sale. I wish BE would make this into a color you could buy any old time.
