I like this curl cream better than any other one I've tried before. It really makes my hair curly instead of just weighing it down. It is a very light product and leaves my hair beautifully silky and soft. I work it into my damp hair and scrunch it a bit before going to bed, and I wake up to soft touchable curls in the morning. I agree with other reviewers that it has no hold whatsoever, so I work in other products into my hair when it's dry for that. I like to use a lightweight mousse such as Aveda Phomollient or Biolage mousse for better hold.
On the second day, my hair is a wavy mess, so I work in a little bit more of the elasto-curl, which brings my curls back into cohesion. Then I put another product in for hold. On the second day, I like to use a heavier product, and I love Aveda's Light Elements Defining Whip.

I agree with other reviewers who say that this is fantastic on the first day (and it is fanstastic), but has no lasting power. For that reason, I generally only use it on days when I am going out and am styling my hair before leaving. But on those days, wow. curls are soft, bouncy, perfectly formed, and shiny.

This product is absolutely lovely on the day you use it. It smells great, leaves hair soft yet actually defines curls. However, as other reviewers have said it really does have no staying power in either softness or definition. Also, it is expensive. If I could afford to I'd use it every single day but really, who wants that much product build up in their hair?

This is the best product for making my hair curly. Some friends were amazed at my hair when I used this recently... they are used to seeing me with straight hair. It's naturally wavy, but this product definitely enhances the waves so that they look like long loose curls. No crunch at all, so soft and shiny. This doesn't contain any hold so it's not a very long-lasting effect. By day 2 the curls have dropped a lot. It beats other products I've tried, but I think it could be hit-and-miss. It's ok for me because I only go curly occasionally. But I once used it two washes in a row and it didn't seem to work as well the second time. I imagine if I used it all the time it wouldn't always have the desired effect. It might work best in tandem with products in it's range, but I find Kerastase to be quite expensive and over-rated so haven't tried the shampoo/conditioner.

I bought this after reading tons of reviews. I have moderately naturally curly hair, about a 2B that needs umph especially during the dry winter months in the North East. Usually I am able to get away with a spray gel, light drying and scrunching. The lack of humidity makes me a bit frizzy, so I was hoping this product would smooth some of those kinks and fly aways out....unforetunatly it made my hair flatter, although it was a nice shine. the smell is nice and refreshing. I am saving it now until summer and see if it helps when there is humidity in the air. But overall, I was bummed and still looking for something that I am use without tons of extra help along with way to keep my hair in curls all year long!

The scent is gorgeous! It smells really fresh and definitely perks my mood up. I find that using this on damp hair usually defines my curls but don't really notice any softening/glossy effect with this. It lasts the whole day but if I go to bed with this, my hair usually ends up flat again the next day. Would re-purchase but am also on the hunt for something that would make my curls look glossier.

I really, really love this leave-in now. I didn't use to, but since I got my hair layered, the curls show up so much more and this product works really well to define, add shine and cut frizz. Especially along with the rest of the Elasto-Curl range. The packaging is lovely, gold with some gilt, but really who cares? Oh, but the smell!Mmmmmmmmmmm..........Grass jelly (nicer than it sounds)

This worked wonders for me, i have shoulder-length curly, sometimes frizzy hair and this makes my hair really soft. i work a small amount of it through slightly damp hair and twist sections of hair round my finger while it dries and the result is defined and frizz-free curls. The smell of the product is pleasant and packaging is nice although the tube dosent last that long. Great product.

This is THE BEST leave-in for my curls I have ever used. I have very thick highlighted dark hair that can be dry on the ends, and this stuuff makes it glossy & bouncy. The best part is that I don't need to diffuse to get prefect curls (unlike anything else I have tried) which is especially nice when it's so hot out. It actually works a bit better when I don't diffuse. I just towel dry, run the cream trough with my fingers, and that's it. It was pricier that many others, but for the effect, it's worth it. My only wish is that it came in a larger container, and more than one salon in the whole city carried it.

I REALLY loved this product. I found it for 12.99, about 17 bucks cheaper than it's normal price. The smell is moderately strong, but it's delicious. It made my wavy hair shiny, soft and with more curls. It has light hold so I used a little gel with it. I guess the store caught on and they raised their price to 21.99, and that's too much. I would buy again only if I can find a similar bargain.

I have dramatically fine wavy hair and I'm always searching for curl enhancers, but this cream just doesn't work. I believe it's good for those with thicker hair, but not for me. It gets too gumpy and weighs hair down. Plus, the smell is too overpowering.

I tried using this several times since my stylist strongly reconmended it. In Singapore there isn't much variety of products in salon. It just seemed to add abit of softness and shine that's all. It doesn't enchance curls at all. Besides it leaves a lot of build up and hair gets weighed down even after shampooing. I will stick to Aveda Curl enchancing lotion instead even if it is more a chore to use.
Update. Overall this is quite a good product. It makes curls look more natural than the Be Curly lotion. It doesn't have good holding power though.

i cannot live without this! period. this transforms my curly perm do into a mass of fluffy, shiny and defined ringlets. i get very carrie bradshaw-ish hair - lots of volume and lots of curls, with a natural shiny-matt ratio and none of that weird too-shiny glossiness which i hate and avoid like the plague. but i must say by the next day the curls will loosen up, which is also fine by me. EDIT: after a month, the super-powers of elasto curl has diminished, sigh. wearing this alone just gives a little definition that disappears the next day. those who are thinking to purchase this, i say forget it! splurge on something from tigi instead! humph.

The problem with the elasto curl line is that it is made to work together. The shampoo, condioner and this leave in used in conjunction with each other work AMAZINGLY well and truly do give you the expected Kerastase quality results.
Individually this product is an extreme disappointment when compared to other kerastase products.
I dont want to say that the product is useless. It is a decent styling product on its own, averaging the quality of other basic drug store brands. Its price however is not that of the drugstore product. Its name also creates a type of "expectancy" as to what the quality of the product should entail, and this product just does not diliver that.
Ultimatley when used with the other elasto curl items the product is a 5. When used on its own it only averages a 1-2.

I bought this product last June 2004 and used it once. It did not do anything to my 3c hair, even after I attempted to use a diffuser. I rearranged the medicine cabinet where I store my styling products recently. I grabbed my tube of Elasto-Curl. I read the ingredients. They sounded strikingly similar to another product I had in heavy rotation. No kidding! Elasto-Curl is almost identical to L'OREAL's anti-frizz cream. I love my anti-frizz cream. The only difference between these products is Elasto-Curl contains glycerin, while anti-frizz contains oils. I figure I will start using my Elasto-Curl again soon, this time as a leave in, along with a silicone serum and a setting lotion. I am sure I could blow my hair dry and then flat iron as normal with this in my hair. Honestly, folks! This is just your average leave-in with a hefty price.

I use this styling cream with the elasto-curl shampoo and conditioner. They really do work well together. I thought I had found bliss with bumble and bumble curl conscious products, but these products are so much better. I have thick hair that has a slight wave that I like to enhance. It also tends to be dry, but with a sometimes oily scalp. I received this, along with some other Kerastase products as a gift when I last went to my salon for a haircut. When I went in for the cut (a trim) my hair looked pretty dry, and the color actually looked bad because of the dryness. Since using these products people have been commenting on what they think is a new color job. I've had comments on how healthy and shiny my hair looks. These products also add some thickness and wave to my hair. Even the day after, I just have a loose wavy bedhead look - I can get away without styling it. Huge rave from me.

Unfortunately, this did nothing for my naturally curly hair. I love basically everything I try from Kerastase and thought for sure this would be my HG curl enhancer...Unfortunately it didn't do anything - the search goes on!
