LOVE this eyeshadow duo! I bought this based off of the reviews on this site and it has become a staple of my everyday routine. The colors are soft and buttery, and impart a beautiful candlelit glow to the eyes. I would absolutely recommend this both for use on its own and as a base for blending darker eyeshadows. Again thank you makeupalley users!

Just to say I couldn't see the point of this initially but am now repurchasing (which I almost never do with eyeshadow). Apply the right-hand shadow (matte) on the lid, in the crease and even all the way up to the brow; then highlight lids etc with the left-hand side (shimmery). Always makes you look rested, healthy and 'done'. Works with everything.

First mistake with nars. I don't get it's invisible on me. I'm pale blue eyes and could use it as base or highlight but expensive set for that. I like my duos to work together with just a splash of highlight added. These are invisible and virtually identical to one and other. Sad as I love nars duos.

I love this eyeshadow duo. I have this in the Best palette (and let me just say, that palette really is the best) and at first these colours seemed quite boring. Both colours are very similar. Both are peachy champagne colours. One is more shimmery than the other and there is a slight difference in colour. This looks great on my very pale skin (NW10/15, NARS Siberia). I love using the more matte shade all over my lid. It makes my eyelids look amazing, luminous and very awake. I then add the shimmery shade to my inner corner and Bali to my lashline. It makes my eyes look awake and radiant, but it's very subtle. The texture is very nice, very soft and buttery. It blends very well and the lasting power is pretty good over Soft Ochtre PP by MAC (it lasts a whole work day without any creasing or fading, but I must admit, my eyelids are not super oily). I often forget about this duo, but whenever I use it I remember how great it is. Would repurchase, even though it is quite expensive.

I bought this duo purely based on the positive reviews on here , and I would just like to say thank you ! I love this so much , I would never have looked twice at it otherwise . It doesn't look anything special in the pan but when I apply these colours to my eyes they make me look beautiful! My eyes just look alive and fresh and so much prettier with all about eve , it's not the colours that stand out ,its your eyes. I always get compiments on how good I am looking when I wear this . My skin colour is very fair and hair brown, my eyes greeny hazel .I like to wear the right hand side all over eye lid and blend the left hand side into the crease . I probably wouldn't wear this on a night out but for day time it is superb .

I didn't buy All About Eve to use as an eyeshadow, but as an eye primer. I've tried TFSI and UDPP but found that within 3 hours my eyeliner and eyeshadow had moved and smudged on my eyes. The obvious answer is to do touchups with TFSI and UDPP, but the tackiness of both caused me to pull on my skin + stretch out my eyelid skin, and I was thoroughly annoyed I had to continue this process every 2-3 hours. With AAE, I'm able to do touchups without my eyelid skin suffering from the tugging and pulling and uncomfortable dryness from chemicals (anyone else notice UDPP creates an instant super dehydrated skin texture for the first hour but fades away after a couple hours?).
In comes All About Eve: both sides blend perfectly into my skin and eyelid colors (I'm at about NW/NC 15). Personally, I think if your skintone isn't beyond being tanned, AAE will blend in completely into your skin color, leaving just glitter behind.
So, why don't I just buy a regular skintone cheaper eyeshadow instead? Because the glitter/sparkle level in AAE is perfect. I have these dark creases/corners in the ends of my eyes that make me look like I'm about to die from a disease or am very close to turning into a zombie (darn genetics!!!). AAE helps bring light into those scary corners and makes me look brighter and more awake (and healthier).
Also, AAE has great staying power (unless you obviously wipe it off with your fingers or rub your eyes or wash your face with water/soap).
My daily look now is to put an even amount of both sides of AAE on my upper eyelid (lashes to brow bone), and then close to my lower eyelash line to clean up the dark creases/corners. Then I usually just tightline with NARS' Night Breed on my upper lashline, presto done-o! My eyes are defined and I don't look like a zombie.

A perfect duo for highlighting. I use mostly the less shimmery shade of this duo. The more shimmery fall down a little too much, I think. Anyway, this is a very nice duo, a must have in my makeup bag. Really nice packaging also. I almost prefer this duo in front of Chanel`s single eyeshadow in the shade Lotus which is very similar to these two shades.

I have had this forever and recently rediscovered it. I forgot how beautiful this duo is! I went to a New Year's Eve party last night and wore fake eyelashes and liquid liner and it looked absolutely beautiful with this duo. I feel like my eyes were glowy and shimmery yet natural looking at the same time! I would definitely repurchase- and I want to try out other NARS duos!

Great neutrals and such nice, discreet shimmer. Great for work as part of a discreet look. I have used this so much since I bought it. Probably will not repurchase though as I tend to lean more and more towards matte eyeshadows.

I love this duo! I don't use them exclusively, because they're such light, shimmery colors. I use them as a quick eye brightener all over the lid or just as browbone and tearduct highlights. Super gorgeous!

I love this product. On my very PPP olive skin, this is a lovely neutral that I use as an all-over shadow base color and highlighter. It's a little bit too dark on me to use as an under-brow highlighter, but this is a perfect shadow to use when I want to have a pretty and natural "no-makeup" look. I will definitely repurchase!

I'm NC30 and this duo works for me as a subtle highlighter for under my brows. Sometimes I also like wearing it on my lids with black liner and dark red lipstick as well, like NARS Shanghai Express or MAC Dubonnet. Both shades are of velvety texture and they don't crumble upon touching. One of my favorites!

I didn't originally want this eyeshadow duo. I asked the assistant for a more gold duo but they had sold out. I decieded to just go for these shimmery highlights as they looked like decent colours to have in my collection. They honestly do not have much colour to them. I was a bit disapointed with them at first. However a few weeks later i find myself reaching for them much more then i thought. Both colours appear fairly similar. Both are slightly champaign-baige colours that are very shimmery. I often use them all over my lid as base colours and blend other colours into them from my crease downwards. Which gives a lovely effect. These are also perfect colours to highlight the brow bone and inner corner. I love the packaging with nars products, They look very sleek and have a lovely mirror. However i find the matte plastic on the outer case picks up dust and makeup from everywhere and it really irritates me. I am proberly being over critical with the packaging. But at the end of the day, its very good quality. Overall i think this is a useful eyeshadow duo to own and these colours would be flattering on many skin tones.

I finally get the hype over this product. So-called neutral eye shadows either made me look tired or flat-out bored me to tears, so my "neutral" was always a pale shimmery gold or ivory. All About Eve changed that upon first application. The duo consists of pale, ever-so-slightly champagne-y beige shadows, one slightly darker than the other, and both provide an amazing glow. There is a tiny bit of shimmer but it's not really noticeable, it's more like my lids have this totally natural sheen that wakes up my whole face. Pigmentation and texture are excellent - the shadows glide right on and look even better applied wet. I love pairing this duo with a strong red or plum lip, or just going all natural with a light dusting of bronzer and pink-nude lips. Since it's so versatile and essentially the queen of neutral shadows, I think this would suit any skin tone.

I'm a neutral girl, always going for the nude makeup look. I purchased this years ago and I'm still in love with it. It is a champagne/ flesh colour, one is slightly lighter than the other, which can be used at the corners of the eyes or on the brow bone to add some dimension. Both colours give a sheen and wakens the eyes. I will repurchase if i ever finish it!

AAE is not as pigmented as other Nars eye shadows, but it is versatile to be used on itself or as a base for other e/s. It gives nice nude look when used alone. Maybe you can't find the colour on your eyes, but it does make different and add points to your look. If you are looking for daily eye shadow, I'd suggest AAE.

I am in the same boat as the reviewer below :( I am VERY fair, and despite being touted at the holy grail ES for fair girls, AAE does nothing for me. Its shimmer color is not light or shimmery enough to bring out my eyes (in fact, the colors in AAE pretty much perfectly match my skin. so well that no matter how much i apply, you cant see anything at all - not even a sheen!) Nor is the beige dark enough to bring any depth or contour to my eyes. I use it occasionally with just black liner and a red lip for a subtle Brigitte Bardot-kind of look, but its SO subtle, I usually go back a little later and add a bit of something over it to make it look like my eyes are really done. I love neutrals, but I still want to look like I'm wearing some makeup! There are tons of pics of tan/darker skinned girls rocking this and looking lovely, so I know it works wonders for some. But not for me. I won't buy this again.

I've had this duo for ages, and it is often overlooked in favor of bolder colors in my arsenal. However, every time I use it I remember what a gorgeous, my-lids-but-better look it gives. The left side is a great match for my skin (NC20), and adds a subtle luminosity. The right side adds a bit more noticeable shimmer. I usually do a wash of the left side up to my brow bone, and then add the shimmery right side to the outer third of lid and in the lower corner of my eyes. Add mascara and bam, you have a luminous, nude eye. All About Eve is part of my HG "natural look", accompanied by NARS Douceur blush and Ophelia gloss. Effortlessly gorgeous, every time. Highly recommend this!

This is a must have in any make up arsenal.
You might think it's boring, understated, plain ...but the simplicity of this duo makes it perfect for anyone.
The left side is the exact color of my skin, so it makes an absolutely perfect base shadow, also it's ideal for blending and smoking out other darker colors.
The right side is perfectly shimmery, not too much or too little. It makes the nicest glowy natural looking highlight ever.
The colors are completely neutral and skin toned, so that any complexion would suit it.
Now that I have this I am using it daily and I can't imagine being without it. NARS eyeshadows are of the best quality I have ever used, they are worth every penny.
Will most definitely repurchase.
