Filtered Yellow is a tricky color to wear, as one can imagine! But if one applies and blends carefully, it gives a similar effect to putting foundation on lips--it canceled out the color in my pigmented lips! This is the perfect lipstuff to wear with a smokey eye, though it's pretty stark for day and prolly requires a coat of clear lipglass on top. I still contend, however, that this gloss is damn underrated =)

A very very VERY generous swapper included this in a package. I'm extremely fair-complected with blue eyes and black hair - usually I steer clear of gold/yellow - but WOW! Talk about brightening up my face with one little swipe! It was smooth, made my lips feel terrific. I will probably buy a full sized one, I loved it so much.

Out of the four shades in the gift pack, I like this and Chicky the best simply because of their golden sheen.
I do wear this shade on it's own and it looks great on me as long as I don't wear too much or combine it with shimmery eye make-up.
From a distance, this gives me a beige look that I like and this sucker is long lasting and survives my consumption habits.

I thought this was discontinued because I bouth it so long ago...this is a tough one to pull off and sort of hard to call...not sure what MAC had in mind. I'll probably end up tossing this.

I wanted this to work so bad but no way.
looked like something from the 60's and I should have a flower painted on my face.
No matter how much I blended it looked bad - even over my favorite color l/s
Not for me and I'm not sure who it would be for, I'd like to see a pic of someone else with this on.
UPDATE - I never got rid of this but decided to use it for mixing other shades that weren't quite right either WOW - I've come up with some really great shades adding this to tone them down.
I would buy this again for that reason and changed my lippies to 4

This is a pale yellow in the tube, and a light gold on the lips. It's not bad, but it's not great either. On it's own, it washes me out because it's a little too light. Layered over other colors it's great and gives a golden warmth. I probably would not repurchase though (and it's discontinued anyway.)

what is the deal with this? The yellow is too much, I have yet to find something it looks good over, and I hate the squeeze tube I got it in. I got a 'gift pack' type thing from Nordstrom with Filtered yellow, Chicky, Restrained Rust and Ghettoflower. I pretty much do not like any of them.

Not sure how anyone can look at this in the tube or not and think Neon Yellow!!!! At best it's a soft pale yellow. Get your colors straight woman!
Anyhoo, As stated it looks liek a soft pale pastel yellow, but when applied there's zero yellow. Just a very subtle light golden hue, but mostly it's just a pearly clear shade. Kinda pointless actually and considering MAC has 3-4 Lipglasses which create this same effect... Good for us MAC collectors though! You can find this and other stains all over ebay so check it out!

I am very, very pink. This product is yellow. Not a good match. I hoped the color would go gold on me, as it apparently did with others, but it pretty much stayed yellow, and it looked freaky. Strangely enough, I took a photo, and it looked nice there, but in real life, it was frightening, like I had some kind of odd glistening food product on my face. Ick.

I was really surprised that I liked this--in the tube it looks like neon yellow, but when applied, it's a beautiful gold sheen. It looks good layered over a neutral/rose lipliner, or even just by itself (I have pigmented lips). I can envision the small tube lasting a long time since a little bit of product goes a long way. I bought this as a part of the 2003 Lipglass Stain Treats set, and I think it is a wonderful deal. I should go out and get more sets!

Love this color. Perfect to wear alone, or with a liner. A hint of gold shimmer with no liner, and gives any liner a gold shimmer subtle look. I love it.

love this lipglass stain over spice pencil, gives a great neutral lip with a hint of gold sheen. The color looks scary in the tube but this one is a definte keeper! I am a stila shade B 30 watt and a Mac NC20

Filtered Yellow applies as a frosty-sheer and brighten the lips with a light golden shimmer. This is very pretty and a welcomed addition to my growing MAC stockpile ;) It's very similar to Digital Jade *but slightly lighter*. I'd recommend this for those with similar coloring - I'm an olive NC30... This works well as an enhancer for other glosses and lipsticks, but I prefer to wear it alone. This is the perfect gloss to accompany a warm, bronzed cheek and an eye involving MAC Nylon. This is a definite summer HG staple for me. :)
