I have fine medium length hair that has been colored multiple times in and out of a salon. I got this last time after switching from Pantene because it made the crown of my hair feel gross. This did not solve the problem and the crown of my hair still feels and looks greasy no matter how little or hard I scrub. I only shampoo every other day and condition only the ends of my hair and this shampoo has not made my problem any better even though I don't put anything else into my hair. Will not be buying this again.

TERRIBLE. This was recommended to me when I went to get my hair touched up, and I can't see why. I read the reviews on here, but thought it couldn't be that bad since my hair stylist had recommended it to me.

It was. I've used this 2x, and my hair feels horrible. It doesn't clean your hair, and it leaves it feeling so greasy and waxy. Brushing my hair feels like cutting through wax. Oh, did I mention that a huge chunk of hair came out last time I brushed?

My mistake disregarding all the reviews on here... will be switching back to my normal shampoo after using this only 2x...

i have used the Paul Mitchell Daily Cleansing Shampoo before and used to be really pleased with the results so i thought i would give the color care one a shot.
Worst idea and buy ever. Every time i wash my hair and blow dry it, it feels so greasy and it's very unmanageable. I can barely style it and feel like i have to wash my hair all over again

As previews reviewers said , this is the worst shampoo I 've ever used on my colourtreated hair. I bought it after my hairdresser advised me to and I regret I ever did........
plus it costed me 14euro here in greece. My hair felt awfully dirty and dry after two weeks of use, didn't do anything to protect the colour, actually I could literally see it come of when I washed it. And it took a handfull of product to create o little bit of lather, so I 'm only left with half a bottle after just two weeks and I wash my hair every couple of days........ I 've been using other highend shampoos such as redken and schwarzkopf and they worked wonders comparing to this staff......
Total waste of money.

Biggest mistake ever. Bought this as a set with the conditioner and I can honestly say that this is the worst shampoo I have ever used. After the first use my hair was lifeless and straw-like. I encouraged my husband to help use it up and his normally glossing brown hair is now dull and seriously dry. So many better products out there - don't waste your money on this one!

I got this shampoo as part of a very low-price boxed set with conditioner and hairspray. I felt like it was too good a price to pass up. It's an OK shampoo, but right after I got my hair highlighted I used this shampoo and it made my hair feel like straw. It's still better than some shampoos I've tried (I don't like Pantene or Garnier) but I won't be buying it again.

First time user of this and their Color Protect Daily Conditioner. My hair felt stripped and after a couple shampoos was dry at the end with breakage on my color treated hair.

Awful never had something make my hair feel so dull lifeless and weighed down! I have naturally thick but not corse dark hair i had a salon color done dark red they recomended the PM color shampoo and conditioner was about £20 for both to keep the colour looking best. Never used a professional shampoo before so was expecting great things, tought how to use only a small amout of each etc and that it wouldn't lather up. After first use dissapointed due to hair not shiny anymore kept using it every other day for a week, by the end of the week was fed up of horrid build up on hair! Would not wash out hair was the worst i ever seen it, went back to salon they said it had hapened to other clients too and exchanged it for redken color shampoo and conditioner and washed my hair out for free its now back to its former shiny supple self thankfully! Would never go near PM color shampoo and contioner again!

Let me stat by saying that i color my hair. A LOT. recently i bleached my whole hair a nice light blonde. My hair was brittle and dry and i couldn't even brush it without chunks of hair coming out. I had tried this conditioner before and absolutely hated it! My hair was weighed down and greasy and frizzy. Well after my bleaching experience i decided to give it one last try. And i fell in love! it leaves my hair manageable, not soft but you can;t expect that when you bleach your hair. I think this product works but only if you have severely damaged hair. Also you should only use it every other day to avoid that weighed down feeling.

I purchased Color Care shampoo and conditioner without looking at the reviews here first! I need to go back and return asap! This left my hair weighed down, scalp itchy, weird film on my hair, dry and made the brown to my hair brassy. Had to put my hair in a bun all day. Had a decent scent to it but wow, this did absolutely nothing good to my hair. I want my hair back-whaaaaaa!

I got this a month ago for my birthday. A friend (who is also a stylist) got this so I would start protecting my all over blonde color. I am not as impressed as I thought I would be. (First time using Paul Mitchell) I always feel like there is residue left in my hair. It's probably a good shampoo & conditioner, but it doesn't feel like its doing enough cleaning. (believe it or not I went back to treseme over this one)

Pros:

Gentle & preserving for colored hair.
Cap on the condtioner is orange and cap on shampoo is white so you wont accidentally use the wrong one
Smell is minimal but nice

Cons:

Doesnt feel like it removes oil and product build up.
Conditioner leaves build up every time I use it.
Looks less shiny after using this product.
Feels heavy

I love this shampoo. Great for my hair type...Mines get oily, so i wash it everyday..but it needs certain type of shampoo so it doesn't js lay flat. If I use another shampoo other than this, my hair looks so flat and boring...though probably softer..but I still prefer this. I'll be using this until my hair gets used to this.

I actually bought the generic version of this PM product at Sally's. Ingredient list was exactly the same, and so is the greasy, dirty feeling. I logged on to MUA to see if the generic had been reviewed, and since there's no listing for the generic version, I checked out the reviews for the PM original.

I have long, wavy, layered, color treated red hair. This shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair feeling dirty, dirty, dirty, and strangely, not lank, but huge! If you have natural wave, you may find that you get a lot of volume with this shampoo and conditioner - I sure have - it looks like I have beach hair. Kind of cool except my hair feels filthy. Using a smaller amount of shampoo and conditioner leaves my hair feeling cleaner, but it's still enormous. Not at all what I expected from this product. I may continue using for a while, but do not plan to repurchase.

I don't know why the reviews on this are so bad. This is a lovely shampoo. It cleanses my hair gently and keeps my color intact. I like the fruity (peaches?) smell too. Once a week, I use Shampoo One to clarify, otherwise, use this everyday and my hair doesn't seem dirty/oily.

I cant believe all the negative reviews of this product. I bought both the shampoo and conditioner and love both. I think this is one of the best shampoos I have ever used ! I wash my hair about every second day and with other shampoos have noticed that my hair is quite dry. Quite the opposite with this shampoo as I find that my hair feels and looks healthier using the shampoo. I will continue to us. Very happy.

Ah, so relieved - thought it was just me. This shampoo does not clean your hair at all. Leaves a lot of oil behind, hair feels terrible . Kept on using it cause it was PM, after all - came to my senses after two weeks when my wet hair smelled like OLD GREASY HAIR. I am still skeeved by the thought. Worse than the cheapest dollar store off-brand. Very disappointing, after 20+ years of using Paul Mitchell products. No point in longer lasting color on dirty hair.

This is the worst shampoo I have ever used. Not only does it not keep my colour (everytime I used it I would end up standing in a pool of brown) but my hair has never felt so greasy as it does after using this shampoo. Disgusting. Never again.

Disappointed. I have not purchased Paul Mitchell in years because I simply cannot afford it. After walking by a salon and seeing it on sale, I decided to make an investment in my hair because it's been looking quite awful lately.

I have never tried a PM product before in my life. I basically went on the ads and the name. I know, silly. But I was hoping that this would be the answer to my prayers.

I have NO idea why but after 3 uses of the shampoo and conditioner, I have developed crusty scaling on my scalp that itches and burns. It's basically flaking off into my hair. I'm rinsing the product thoroughly, so I really don't understand why it's doing this.

My hair however looks and feels shiny. It's starting to perk up and looking healthy again and I got comments on that, but.... I can't live with whatever scalp condition PM is causing for me.

Unfortunately I may have to go back to Suave. I really need a good shampoo that won't do this to my scalp. Suave seems to be the only one out there that doesn't cause trouble.

I wish I could get my money back. :(

It takes so much of this to really cleanse my hair. The first time I used this it took 3 washes for my hair to come clean. Ridiculous since it only takes once for cheaper shampoos (Suave even) to do a much better job. I don't use heavy styling products either, just a leave-in conditioner.

I bought it as part of a promotion at my salon, I'm so glad I didn't pay more. The conditioner and restructuring treatment seem much better so I still feel I got my money's worth from the trial kit. Will not purchase again though.

VERY DISAPPOINTG:
For some reason, I have to use so much of this to wash my hair when, with other shampoos-- CHEAPER shampoos such as Garnier-- I can use HALF AS MUCH to shampoo my whole head. It doesn't clean/wash my hair at all. I've tried all kinds of Shampoo; Pureoloy, Frederic Fekkai, Aveda, Rust, BB, etc etc, and a few drugstore brands. Also it does NOTHING for the color preservation or whatever.

The price may initially seem OK but it's simply not worth it-- try another drugstore brand and you'll get more for your money and it will be better in general.

THe one thing I DO like about it is that it's very simple... and does not leave any residue at all.

*** I think this would be great for those with fine hair. My thick hair + this shampoo = not happening.***
