I was not dissappointed with this purchase. I believe that some of the low ratings that certain items receive is more user error than product deficiency. This color does apply somewhat sheer and I like this for browbone highlighting or inner corner brightening up. If you want more vibrant color there are a few things one could do. Use a cream base, use water/glycerin combo, use a stamp brush, or all of the above. I have a Laura Mercier eye shadow brush that can stamp any color bright. I have used this color brightly with greys/blues and received a crap load of compliments. Now if you want a more richly pigmented but golden gold color I highly recommend 24K from Smashbox. Its not at all the same color so I can justify having them both. Each is pretty but serves a different purpose. **EDIT** I did want to say that I compared Goldfinger to UD's Deluxe Honey and its almost exactly the same shade but Honey is of better quality. If you want a yellow gold, go for Honey.

What a big dissapointment!! One of the worst eyeshadows I have ever purchased. It barely shows on my lids no matter what I do. My search for the perfect gold eyeshadow will continue and this one is on its way back to sephora.

My first Nars purchase and I'm incredibly disappointed. The packaging is delish, the name delightful and the colour in the package looked rich and luxurious. I thought it was exactly the colour that I was looking for --- a soft, 24 karat gold without being brassy, bronze or green. It looked fab under Sephora's lighting and definitely the best of the choices available at the store. I got home and when I applied it, this shadow barely showed up on my lids and I'm really pale! I've tried to work with it as an eyelid colour but I've had no success. I hit the Mac counter wearing this shadow, looking for a replacement (I did end up with the glamorous Goldmine) and the makeup artist asked if I was wearing silver shadow! Do not waste your hard earned money on this product!

I was introduced to this product recently and I love it! It's great to use both as an eyeshadow and as a highlighter if you dab a bit on your cheekbones. I am a C4/ NC30 in MAC and this shade really complements my skin colour. I would definately repurchase as it is one of the best gold eyeshadows I have come across in a long time.

This is a very pretty yellow-gold shade that could be combined with a variety of bright colors to give a dramatic bright look to my brown eyes/ggg skin.
I applied this over stilife paint by mac and over montego beige colour dose, and i really think that brought the color to life. Generally I don't like nars singles, but using a base really helps! I would recommend this to anyone looking for a bright lid color. It looks really nice paired with greens or bronzes!

The goldfinger looks like bright sunflowers in the palette, but do not worry, it looks fabulous on the eye ... more like a dull goldfinger ... unlike the movie, the gold is more yellow on my medium asian skin tone!
I put it on my inner corners of my lid, and the shadow makes my eyes "pop" and liven up dramatically!
Like other NARS shadow the only problem is the staying power is not to great ... you'll need to put concealer on as a base to hold the shadow's pigment power in place! Pricey, but beautiful!

I'm surprised to see other reviewers describe this as pigmented, because it comes out pretty sheer on me. All I see is the yellow-gold frosty shimmer, rather than any underlying colour. I'm not keen on it on my lids, where the skin tone shows through, but it makes a great top coat on darker shadows such as Fuji, for an interesting dimensional effect. It's also the right texture to use as a brow highlighter, and it's sheer enough to use as a cheek highlighter too. It's not really special or versatile enough to make it a must-have for me though.

this is the best gold eyeshadow ever. it's a very versatile yellow gold that can look bright like a canary OR like 24 K gold jewels. when I pair it with bright pink it looks more "lemony." when I pair it with smokey eyeshadow colors it looks more "gold." it is very frosty and I love it so much because the frost does not take away from the actual yellow-gold COLOR like most gold eyeshadows do. I hate when gold eyeshadows end up being unpigmented and just a sheer shimmer. this one is very pigmented as well as shimmery. it goes with sooo many other colors. I love it. so glad I found it.

Really lusted for this, but got it home only to find that: 1) it's not nearly as pretty on as it is in the pan, and 2) it looks horrible with my pink, cool-toned coloring. Oops.

I adore this shade. Not at all bronzey and perfect for a pale, neutral toned girl like me - goes really well over pinks and peaches and makes browns more interesting. Excellent as an eyeliner to bring out green eyes.

I love this with greens and olive shades, especially Nars Fuji for a really exotic, feline look. Goldfinger is a shimmery medium yellow-gold, not too bronzy. Lasts a long time too- it's very pigmented and densely packed.

Looks great in the case but once on my middle-aged lids, it made them look old and crinkly, because of the heavy frost in the formula. It might look fine on someone very young or perhaps dusted on the brow bone. I also think it would flatter a darker skinned brunette (particularly an African American woman) rather than a fair skinned blond like me.
