This is a soft, muted, warm grey, it has a hint of a sage-green tint to it, but it still appears grey. I have a neutral skintone but if you're cooler I would recommend LM's Celestial over this, which is a steely grey with a blue undertone. I love the LM eyeshadows in general, especially these sateen versions. They provide a little shimmer and depth without appearing metallic or overly frosted. A very elegant formula for those of us with ageing eyelids.

A beautiful, soft, slightly pearlised, steel-grey. Suspect this would work as well with blue eyes as it does with brown. Recommended.

I love this eyeshadow! It is a warm grey which has shimmer enough to make it interesting but not too shimmery (I think LM describes it as a sateen colour). It is so versatile - make it polished and discreet for work or make it dramatic for night. Very easy to blend. The colour makes my blue/blue-green eyes really pop and look really teal-coloured. In general I tend to prefer matte eyshadows but this one... will definitely re-purchase!

I got this in a swap and am so pleased with it. It is grey enough to do a smokey eye but the hint of green takes the coldness off. My eyes are that weird bright geen/blue but can also look cold and grey with certain colours. This really enhances the green in them.
It's slightly pearly (?not flat not frosted) is easy to blend and nicely pigmented. Love it!

I absolutely love this color, accurately described below as green/gray. The sateen formulation feels luxurious on, & applies like butter. It looks luminous & feels almost creamy. It does make a gorgeous smokey eye, & is perfect paired with a number of other colors. This shade compliments my green eyes, medium skin tone, & light brown/golden blonde hair very nicely. Laura's shadows are top quality, & I'll definitely be buying more. Next color will be "Black Plum"...

This is a great quality shadow and very unique - a dark shimmery grey with green and blue tones. I tried it all over the lid and also as a crease shade and it did not work well for me - it wore too blue for me, and also too dark. I dislike the packaging on these - the rounded top makes them not stackable.

Laura Merciers eye colors are so beautiful and flirtatious, the color is not harsh but has a sexy shimmery blended look to it. This one is a nice smokey grey-green and I love it. I always wear a smokey-eye. When the m.a. first put it on me (w/ star fruit) i thought it looked horrible but it was just the lighting in the mall. When I got outside to my car and went home it looked amazing and i went back to buy both colors...even though the price is steep!

I at first hesitated when I was recommended this color by my Laura Mercier makeup artist, but I trust her judgement and glad that I did. This color is not a true gray, but rather I would term a green/gray. This looks great as a smokey eye or used to line the eyes, as I do. It was also suggested to me to use Patchouli stickgloss with this color as this is the color normally recommended by the artists to be paired with Pewter, however, my makeup artist thought that it would look so much better paired with Tea Rose lipstick, and she was right ........ I have been wearing this look for the past few days and have gotten so many compliments not on the colors, but instead that I looked great (to me that is a compliment when YOU are being complimented on and not the colors you are wearing.) Edited: I now pair Pewter with Morning Dew and it looks really pretty together as well as paired with Tea Rose lipstick.

Great color for bringing out green eyes. Love doing a smoky eye with this and Buttercream as the base and Bleu Marine liner.

I really like this eyeshadow for the smokey eye look. I use this along with deep night, and it almost turns out a little on the dark gray green side when used together. I love the shimmer in this eyeshadow, and find that it brings out the honey in my dark brown eyes. I like this, but am also a little ill that no applicator comes with LM eyeshadows. I hope to never have to repurchase this since I use eyeshadow sparingly and have so many different colors.

One of my first LM shades. This product is a charcoal-gray with a hint of shimmer. What I like most about it is that the color can be sheer, or you can build it into a heavier, smoky eyed look. As with all LM shadows, goes on smoothly and stays put. EDITED TO ADD: I am increadingly ambivalent about this shadow. I've found better grays for a smoky eye.

I'm one of the few who doesn't rave about this. I was SO excited to try Laura Mercier eyeshadows after seeing Julia Roberts on the cover of InStyle all in LM eye color. This color, which she wore, didn't last on me and sort of smudged. A few hours after I would go out wearing it last weekend, it already looked bad and smeared and faded. SO disapointing cause it looks so great in the pan. I plan to return it. Note: I only tried this as a shadow and not a liner.

I love this color! It is the perfect color for me to use over my lower lid when I do a smoky eye. I would call it a medium neutral gray. I wear it with another LM shadow that is a matte black (the name escapes me at the moment) and it looks great. The color lasts all day (or night) even on my semi oily lids. I would definitely buy again.

Pewter is a deep shimmery grey, with a silvery metallic sheen. Perfect for smokey eyes- and the texture is super silky and soft, which makes it a dream to blend for a more subtle look. Makes a great liner when used wet too.
