It works. Tried so many acne cleansers. This is the only one that worked. It really helps with acne around the chin and forehead.

I've had this cleanser for three days and I really like feeling of clean it gives me, but I've had a few new zits pop up since I've started using it. I'm unsure as to if its my skin getting worse before it gets better, or if its just a result of my monthly gift coming, or if it was the actual cleanser. I really hope not because I enjoy this cleanser a lot!

I have combination oily/acne prone skin. Most cleansers don't have what it takes to clean my easily-clogging pores and day's worth of oil on my skin. This product does it all. It cleans out my pores (you can literally feel the minty-fresh tingle of it working), and washes off every trace of dirt/oil that may have accumulated on my face. I use it 2-3 times a day, and my skin is now blemish free. It also helps that the product has time-release acne medication, so it continues to work hours after you wash it off your face. I use it at night and see that when I wake up, my skin complexion is much more even than when I did not use it.

First time i used this i thought the menthol felt odd and too harsh right off the bat, i should have stopped then! Used this for three days, on the third i noticed tightness and a weird burning sensation around my nose and lips. When i washed my face at night, i was horrified! Chemical burn is the only way this feels! My skin feels tight, red and burning and covered in tiny bumps! I have NEVER had this sort of reaction! Please be careful before trying! I cant believe people use this with no reaction, seeing as my face is on fire!!! Not happy!

The tube does leak a bit and mine was a sample tube. Seems like a problem with their overall tube material and/or design.
My skin is combination dry so while salicylic acid works as spot treatment, this cleanser with 1.5% SA dries my skin out while I still have some acnes popped up here and there. It doesn't give the squeaky clean feel and I can still feel a small thin layer after washing. Clarisonic Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser has calming ingredients in it so it is a better fit for girls with dryer skin and acne prone like me.
Will not re/purchase

This is the best cleanser I've ever used! I got it a few months back as a deluxe sample from sephora and got about 2 weeks' use out of the sample which was enough time to really make me love it. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get sephora to ship it to me (and I live in a really isolated, northern community so I can't just roll up to sephora to buy it!) BUT I found it on eBay for an amazing price! It was about $50 for a 500mL salon-sized container! You only need one pump of it (I apply it right to my clarisonic) so the 500mL has lasted me a really long time! I will continue to buy this for as long as they make it - which is hopefully forever!

My skin is oily. It broke out in certain spots on my cheek. I wanted something that would go under my pore and scrub the dirt off. Murad's cleanser really did the trick. My face tightened up and feels very clean after each use. I'm on my second bottle now. This should be a starter product for one that has big pimples and dark blemishes. I highly recommend this product. The price is on the expensive side. But every ounce is worth your penny.

I love the clinical packaging of this line! This cleanser smells nice to me, minty, medicinal, and feels cooling. It does tend to dry my skin out, and I only use it at night, after I've removed my makeup, with my Clarisonic Mia. I do see an improvement in my spots and redness left behind by old spots, and I would buy this again, although I love the vit c cleanser a bit better.

This is a really great cleanser. I don't have acne, but I do get the occasional breakout along my jawline or on my chin and this cleanser really seems to help dry everything out and minimize the blemishes. I use it after my Dermalogica PreCleanse oil and it makes my face incredibly soft and smooth afterward. I don't even use my Clarisonic that much anymore because it started irritating my skin and making it flake/peel after I started using retinol cream and glycolic acid moisturizers at night... so now I just use the tips of my fingers to scrub my face and even doing that my skin feels so smooth after using the Murad cleanser. Just make sure to scrub really well for at least a minute or so if you're not using the Clarisonic, otherwise it doesn't give as much of a clean feel. I also think the consistency of the cleanser is just perfect - it's not too runny like many other liquid cleansers, which make it kind of messy when trying to wash your face with your hands. This is my favorite cleanser and I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. Will definitely repurchase once I run out as well.

My skin had always been dry, hyper-sensitive to salicylic acid products, and would almost always have 2-3 pimples somewhere on my face. I also suffer from hyperpigmentation. And then 5 years ago, not sure if it was a switch in birth control, or stress, but suddenly, I was battling the worse acne of my life. Both cheeks were covered in red big rashy pimples. It happened quite quickly, and nothing seemed to be helping. I remember getting out of the shower one night, before heading to the city with my girlfriends, and seeing how awful my skin was. All I could do was sit down, in my towel, and start crying. I wouldn't even let my best friends, who had seen me at my worst several times, come into the bathroom until I had built up some coverage with the foundation I had. I was miserable. It was that night that I tried Murad clarifying cleanser, and the rest of the system, as my mom had seen how frustrated I was becoming, and ordered it. I swear, over night, the product started working. I woke up, and the breakout seemed considerably less irritated. By 2-3 weeks in, my acne was gone. I only use the cleanser now, as the gel & perfecting lotion seem to be for healing acne, and I no longer suffer from acne. I still get the occasional breakout, but it seems to be hormonal, and using the cleanser with my clarisonic stops the breakout from becoming noticable, and heals it much quicker than anything else I have ever tried. I've tried other products (skin junkie, always looking for something better, even when I have liquid gold in my hands), and anytime I've ever stopped using this cleanser, I always go back to it within a months time, because nothing keeps my skin clear, or clears it as quickly as Murad. It is a bit expensive, but lasts quite a while, and is so so worth it for the peace of mind clear skin brings. If you are very dry (I used to be, seems I've gone more comibination as I've gotten older), then invest in the perfecting lotion as well. It is a very thin, light lotion, pretty expensive, but keeps skin hydrated like nothing else. Might not be for everyone, but if you've tried everything else, and you're still suffering from acne, give it a shot. Cuz it saved my skin.

I really wanted to like this product, because I use other murad products and quite like them. Unfortunately, this gave me a bad rash on my face, as well as terrible dryness - after only a few uses. I have never had an allergic reaction to a skincare product before, so this one must be pretty strong (and I'm used to using 10% benz. peroxide products!) I wouldn't recommend it at all if you have fair and sensitive skin. It left my face feeling clean, but the after effects weren't worth it. I could probably get less irritation if I used clorox on my face.

This cleanser was EXTREMELY DRYING. i have combination, acne prone skin. i am oily in the tzone but dry in the cheeks. I feel as tho this cleanser did clean my skin, but it made my skin feel tight and uncomfortable and i cannot STAND that feeling. It also make it so dry to the point of my skin starting to peel. the only pro was that it foamed up well. It didn't make my skin break out, but it didnt really clear up my skin either.

Very good cleanser. I had only been using drugstore acne cleansers until this one, and this one is significantly better. It has a slight minty feeling after rinsing which leaves my skin feeling very refreshed and clean. It's not stripping and pretty gentle. I use this with my clarisonic, and I love the combination. I also gave this to my sister who also has a lot of acne on her face, and I was able to see the difference. It's not a miracle worker as it doesn't clear up the face entirely, but still a major improvement. It's not as pricey as some of the other cleansers I've seen as you get quite a lot of product in one tube. I will definitely be repurchasing this.

Okay, I have tried everything under the sun when it comes to makeup and skin care. You know that statistic that the average woman spends 15,000 dollars on makeup in her lifetime? I have definitely spent more than that in the last five years alone, and it was all on makeup to cover my acne. I gave up on skincare after a few years of no results, and instead just started buying heavier (more expensive) foundations with a higher coverage, although I didn't really like them since they made me feel like a cakeface. But after getting made fun of for my still-noticable acne and heading to Sephora for a makeup run, the lady there told me about this, and I decided to give it a try.
I started using this cleanser about two weeks ago, and in that short span I already have noticed a difference. Though I still have a small amount of acne (thanks to my stupid birth control) it has lessened considerably, and my skin is a lot smoother. There are still some red spots, but they are just spots, not bumps which makes them much less noticable and SO MUCH easier to cover! I have switched from the heaviest coverage makeup (the kind used to cover tattoos, that's how bad it got) to sheer coverage foundation from Clinique. I use way less makeup, AND my acne scars seem to be fading! :)
I keep getting comments on how much better my skin looks, and I read that the first few weeks are when your skin is still purging all the dirt, so hopefully it just keeps getting better and better! :D
I really like this, it makes my skin feel soft, I don't think it is very expensive since it lasts like 3-6 months per bottle, and it smells very fresh and clean.
Overall, a good cleanser that reacts well with my skin! If it keeps improviing, the rating will go up to a five! :)

I've been using this product for about two weeks. I know I should be using it longer before reviewing but I really love the results I get from this cleanser. My skin is constantly getting whiteheads everywhere. My forehead, chin, and especially on my cheeks. My cheeks are always popping up whiteheads and this cleanser cleared them up drastically and I haven't seen whiteheads since. I think it's important to mention that this is the only acne fighting product I am using in my skin care routine and the only thing I have changed in my routine. It's pretty amazing how just switching cleansers made such a difference despite that cleansers just go down the drain. I do think Murad's claims are exactly what they do. I do think that it is keeping my pores clean even after washing. Even falling asleep in my make up didn't sprout up breakouts and I always breakout if I don't wash my make up off at night before I used this product. I highly recommend this product if you are having troubles with whiteheads or blackheads. I'm not sure how this will perform on cystic acne but it's great for mild to moderate acne.

I can really only add what has already been generally stated. This is a gel, loaded with Sal. Acid, which is a great acne fighter and is especially good for hyper pigmentation. My skin type is quite a challenge to deal with; sensitive/acne prone/aging. I use 1 pea-sized drop of this cleanser with my Clarisonic twice a day. It's been only one week. The few breakouts I had on my chin have healed. The small brown spots left over seem to be fading fast, which was a nice surprise.
I use a pea sized amount on wet skin and sometimes place a second "pea" inside of the circle in the middle of the bristles on my Clarisonic. Start the machine and go. I get a good foam going and stop after 1 minutes. I sometimes leave the foam on while I brush my teeth, but I'm not sure if this is adding a benefit or not, it just feels really good. It rinses off right away and leaves my skin feeling fresh, soft, clean and not at all dry.
NOTE: I don't believe that at my age, there is any ONE product that is going to keep my skin smooth and clear. I use a combination of cleanser, no toner in winter, vitamin c serum, ss, hydroquinone (script) twice sometimes three times a day. I have found that the best combination of things are diet, water intake, low to no dairy, regular exercise, healthy eating plan are the BEST combination of things to make my skin healthy.

Too drying for my combination skin. Contains salicylic acid and menthol. Removes my makeup and leaves my skin feeling clean but dry.

This cleanser seemed to work wonderfully at first. It leaves your skin with that cool, fresh, clean feeling when left on long enough (aprox 30 seconds) which I love. I had bought this product without reading reviews. I intended to buy the philosophy clear days ahead facial wash but the store I went to didn't have it so the lady recommended I buy this product. Like I had said, it leaves your skin feeling cool and refreshed but does nothing for acne. When I had bought this product, about three weeks ago, I had no acne and I wanted to maintain that. About a week ago, I began breaking out and was this product did nothing to help. I stopped using it a couple days ago but may start again soon because I do not want to waste it. I love the feeling this product leaves your skin with, but if you're looking for something to help break outs I would not recommend this.

Having developed acne in my early 20's I literally tried everything under the sun to help clear my skin. This has been the only thing I've found that actually works. I still get a spot or two on occasion during that time of the month but on the whole this cleanser really does the job. I have found that when I forget to use it, or have switched it up with something else then I start breaking out again so I always keep coming back to it. It is quite pricey, but it does last for ages. The only big downside is the packaging - I would prefer a pump as I find that it is easy to pour too much product out.
Just a warning though the first month or so of using this I broke out really badly but they do mention in the leaflet that you probably will as your skin goes through a purging process, but once you get past this is does actually work.
