I can't believe my good fortune stumbling into this gem. Based on the rating and reviews on MUA, I wouldn't purchase this in a million years, but on a recent trip I did not pack my shampoo and conditioner and used the one my mom put in our apartment - which is this Smooth Intense Cream Conditioner with Nutrileum, along with L'oreal Elseve Re-Nutrition Caring Shampoo (not listed in MUA) with Royal Jelly. I was flabbergasted with the results. Mind you, I'd used both high end and affordable shampoos/conditioners and none of them come close to what these combo did to my hair. The instant results are soft, untangled and easy to comb hair (even wet!) and usually these kinds of conditioner would mean it would weigh hair down eventually but to my surprise, it didn't! I've used these combo for over a week and cannot be happier. My hair is softer to the touch, no longer felt like straw (and doesn't look like it either) and since then I'd purchased the accompanying Night Serum and together, they truly work wonders at repairing my constantly dyed hair. Even with blow drying, my hair still came out soft and smooth. I think it really depends on your hair - it may work for some, and horribly with others.
As for the scent, it's kind of strong, but pleasantly so and I wished it smelled like vanilla (my favorite) but for the magic it worked for my hair I'm willing to overlook it. I think I found my HG shampoo and conditioner!

I have shoulder length, naturally curly, baby fine hair that is prone to frizz. I'm also a PJ by nature. That being said - I just re-discovered this shampoo & conditioner(at the back of my product graveyard - closet) - and I **LOVE*** it!!!!
I used this set consistantly(alternating with Pantene & Infusium) about 5 years ago but got bored and had to try different things. At that time my hair was down to my WAIST, chemically treated, AND dyed! But it always ended up like silk when I used this. It didn't break off or fall out. Fast forward to now, my hair is natural(save for an occasional henna treatment) and this stuff still rocks! I use it when I want my hair to be wavy. I'll shampoo & condition, use a little of the conditioner as a leave-in followed by the Smooth Intense Serum and put my hair up in a bun or 2 and let it dry. When I take it down it's soft, shiny, and silky. It also has a strong scent which can be good or bad depending on my mood.
I don't get the bad reviews either. I guess it depends on what your hair likes. I've bought into too many internet myths in the past(cones are "bad", co-washing is good, Pantene is the debbil, etc.). I've tried high end, salon, and natural. I've found that they aren't necessarily better than drugstore products - of course that depends on the products. Now I'm trying to get back to what works for my hair.
The only thing I really don't like is the packaging. It's kinda ugly and tacky to me. The orange is ok, as it the bottle shape, but the writing makes it look generic and plain. The old packagind was a little prettier with gold, black, and white writing.
Would repurchase, but I might try one of the other L'Oreal sets first.

An affordable and definitely effective conditioner that does what it promises. The only downside is that I feel I have to use this together with the anti-frizz serum. It roughly lasts 12 hours. I still prefer Asience as it does works better for Asian hair. I am really happy to give credit to L'oreal for delivering exactly what the bottle says, despite the less than good reviews which I don't understand. lol. Cos this range was my hair saviour before Asience appeared on the market.

My hair is so knotty at the moment that I will have to cut the knots out of it
Also my hair is lacking the soft feel that it normally does.
This product is no good! Neither the Shampoo or Conditioner.

This along with the matching shampoo was one of the worst products I have ever used on my hair. I usually love L'oreal products, but not this one. It went in the rubbish. My hair went like straw after use.

This stands out in my mind as one of the worst conditioners I've ever tried for my long, straight hair. Maybe it's the disparity between the title ("Smooth") and what you actually get: progressively more strawlike, frizzier and more tangled hair. Now, my hair is naturally straight, not colored or especially dry, and rarely frizzes. If a conditioner can make MY hair this bad, I can't imagine what it's doing to other people's hair.

Tried 2 bottles of it before and twice, it didn't do anything to my frizzy, dry and rebonded hair.

I have long, wavy and frizzy hair and didn't find this conditioner did much in terms of "smoothing" my mop. It detangles okay but doesn't really conditions the hair enough.
As mentioned, I found the fragrance to be unpleasant as well, also packaging makes it really hard to squeeze out the last bits of product left in the bottle.

I have a love-hate relationship with this - for me the scent is just perfect, fresh, clean and lovely. BUT I get really bad build-up from using this...

Better than average conditioner for dry, frizzy, thick hair. About equal with Pantene. I can't rave about it though. Deserves 4 lippies and no more.

Disappointing conditioner. Doesn't make real difference to my hair. Everytime I use this my hair just not smooth and neat, feels frizzy and tangled, not silky. Pantene is so much better at lower price. The packaging is annoying too, it's hard to squeeze out the conditioner. Fragrance is nice but doesn't stays on my hair.

an ok conditioner - it detangles great but really did nothing else to my frizzy mop. i thought that perhaps i wasn't using enough product for it to work, so last night i slathered more than double the usual amount, AND hung around in the bathroom for about 10 minutes more before rinsing off. the results were still the same. will not repurchase!

I give this a 3. It wasn't terrible but not good enough either. It detangled my hair, that's about it. The smell is pretty strong though I don't mind it as such. The packaging is very ugly though practical. Won't repurchase.

The conditioner is pretty good but I expected more for the price. There are cheaper brands that preform as well as this.

I love this conditioner. Along with the shampoo, it smooths out my frizzy hair and makes it silky and shiny. I have been using it for 2 years, and I while I keep trying other products, I always come back to this. Definitely my HG everyday conditioner.

I loved this shampoo & conditioner at first, but by the end of the first set of my first bottles of Smooth Intense shamp/cond, it was really starting to build up on my hair and left it feeling "crispy" after letting it air dry. Even after flat ironing, it just wasn't getting the smoothing power as I had at first. I think it smells great and am glad I tried it, but I need more of an intense conditioner for my long, naturally wavy/curly dry hair that I flat iron every day. Back to Tresemme for me! :) I love Tresemme, it's the BEST!

I saw this and it claimed to have major conditioning properties.. Yeah well, it didn't for my hair. It's not as creamy of a conditioner as I had wanted, and left a slight coating on my hair.. Will not be buying again.

Love it! The smell is absolutely wonderful and it does what it says, makes my hair smooth and shiny!! It definately feels a lot silkier when I use this conditioner. The conditioner is great at detangling and at conditioning in general. I really like this stuff paired with the matching shampoo and serum. Yields great hair days! Will give the shampoo the same review.
