This product is okay... it's not GREAT. I'm using the whole medibac regimen & I think the clearing mattifier is what's controlling my acne; as noted from other reviewers; it's good for people with pimples here & there but I don't think it'll control a lot of acne.

I'm only 14 but I've had bad acne since i was 10 and it's definitely been a tough four years and I've been through every way possible to try and get rid of my spots from off the counter medication to pills from doctors but nothing really seemed to work, that is until i found this dermalogica treatment! it works wonders to nearly all spots apart from really big ones and i love it! i recommend it to anyone out there who suffered or is suffering like i was! i know it's hard but push through it, you're all beautiful :). xx
very expensive though! and it makes you break out before it clears your skin.

SO, it all began when I realized I didn't have huge skin problems at all. The problem was that I have enlarged blackheads (genetically huge pores overall) and when I tried to squeeze them out they would turn into pimples the next day. So my advice-DON'T TOUCH YOUR FACE EVER!!!
I started exfoliating, using Dermalogica's gentle cream exfoliant (which I adore), and glycolic acids from MD Formulations.
There's a but.. The AHA products I was (and still am) using were great, they made my skin glowing etc etc all that, but they didn't entirely get rid of my huge pores. That's when I watched one of beautiful Lisa Eldridge's videos and she mentioned that salicylic acid was the only ingredient that could enter the pore and clean it out. ..AH!
I had the luck to find this product for a very low price, the store was closing and so everything was like 50% off. It was worth it in my opinion, but I'm not sure I would have bought the full size product if it hadn't been on sale, there are so many products out there that contain salicylic acid but aren't that expensive (like those spot treatments). But now that I know how well this works, I'd say it's worth the price tag.
Smell:
If you are familiar to Dermalogica products you will recognize the smell, not the best but not the worst. It's ok and doesn't bother me.
Texture:
Kind of a runny transparent gel, you definitely need less than you would think you need. But I honestly like to slather it on like a crazy person.
The best thing with this product is that it doesn't dry out your skin which I think is really important for the oilies out there. It certainly doesn't perform magic but there's something about this product that makes me look forward to using it.
My pores are now smaller, less visible. Blackheads are "reduced" and occasional breakouts.. well they stay occasional but never really break out in that sense. One night is all it needs. The next day when I wake up my skin is perfected. Not perfect (because of scarring, again-DONT TOUCH YOUR FACE!!), but nearly there.
Definitely recommend this product, I use it as a treatment on my whole face because I think it performs better that way instead of like a spot treatment. Never had a reaction to it but if you are sensitive get a sample.

OMG.. save your money!! Do not buy this!! This isn't cheap. It's about $47 (Ulta). Luckily for me, I didn't purchase it. I received a sample (they reluctantly gave it to me). I originally went in for the La Roche Posay, but they don't sell the brand in stores..
Ok. First of all.. this stuff stinks. It smells like FEET. gross.
Second of all, it's so overpriced for nothing. It says "Overnight Clearing Gel".. far from overnight. Now, my expectations for that claim weren't high.. but it's been about 9 days and I still have the same zits.. it's as if I'm not putting anything on!!
Save your money! Don't buy this!

This stuff is amazing. I can't use products with benzoyl peroxide on my spots as it ends up making the skin around the spot so incredibly dry and tight. This stuff quickly saved my skin after a bad reaction to a foundation caused me to have cystic acne spots for the first time in my life. I'm not sure how effective it would be for people who suffer from acne, but for those with an occasional spot or two every month I would swear by it.

I've been using this for just over a month and while it hasn't helped to get rid of my acne completely, it definitely has helped. It gets rid of small pimples, but not hormonal cystic acne. Also I kind of like the smell; it kind of relaxes me before I drift off to sleep.

i had cystic acne and was only using indoxyl and not seeing impressive results. i decided to use this under the indoxyl 2x a day for 3 months and love how clear my skin is now!
i would love this in a pump however. i thought my bottle was empty so i held it under hot water to make the gel go to the bottom of the bottle, then i cut it open only to find that there was still a lot of product left to last me another 7 days! i was glad that i hadn't run out yet but was a little bothered that i could've potentially lost that product had i just thrown the bottle away.

This is one of the better spot treatments available. It's not strong enough for large cystic spots, but for the usual zits and whiteheads it's rather effective. It's not too drying and it doesn't flake the skin around the spot too much and I like the fact that it's clear, so I can use it duing the day.

It's not that bad. I actually saw difference, but if you've got humugous pimples, you wouldn't expect it like a working miracle.
It's actually quite drying, so never apply too much. And it smells like any acne spot gel, nothing new. However the packaging is awesome, it comes in that eye drops container (i actually call it that one) so it's pretty hygienic and effective.
I used it now on my small pimples, and it definitely cleared it up. But since it is quite pricey, I'm not sure it's good to buy another one. Maybe if I am quie rich. :)

I started using this my freshman year in high school, and it did wonders for my skin. Although it broke me out at first for the first month or so. After that initial "it gets worse before it gets better" month my skin was super clear. After i stopped using it i broke out like crazy.

Love this product.
Have been using it for so long (years) that i don't know my skin without it. As they say "if it aint broke don't fix it"
As with all products it isn't a magical cure nor should it be the only thing that you rely on to fix your skin probs.
Combined with routine morning and night. Diet, exercise and in my case hormonal treatment, It got me through my extreme skin problems and now i hardly go a night with out applying after cleansing.
It is definately a great preventative treatment.

IT seems to make my pimples come up over night rather than stop them. It makes my skin excessively dry and makes pimples appear overnight. Very bizarre.

I have used this product on & off for a few years - The first time i used it did nothing to help clear the acne at all so stopped using it which is quite pricy but then i used it again and it worked wonders - Recently started to use it again to see if it would help & it doesn't seem to be working if anything it is making it worse

This doesn't help. I used the whole line of Dermalogica for acne skin but find that for acne treatment, Peter Thomas Roth and DDF products works much better.

Mixed results. Sometimes it helps when I'm breaking out, and sometimes it does nothing. Don't even know if it's the product or something else.
It did help with blackheads, but not with pimples going away.
You could get the same results with cheaper products.

I really like dermalogica and will usually spend like $300 every 4 months on stuff, but I have to admit that this did nothing above and beyond what clerasil pads with 2% salicylic acid does for me. This did not even begin to reduce my cystic acne and did nothing for blackheads. I really feel that even tho I am a dermalogica whore, I will stick to buying generic salicylic acid products from Rite-Aid.
