Hmmm... I bought this because obviously its black on one end and white on the other. Now the black is absulotely fine; but the white is a bit shimmery which I hate. I'd prefer it matte so that you can apply it to your waterline. The white doesn't go on as great as the black... Can't really apply it to your waterline... Shimmer ruins it.

I wanted to get a white pencil liner, but I new I wasn't going to use it often, so I decided to go for this one which included the black.
It probably smudges like crazy if you use it on the upper lid. I only use it on the waterline and by the end of the day all of it is gathered up in my inner corner or under my lower lashline.

Both sides are very pigmented, but as I said, the colour doesn't last. I never use the white one because it looks terribly fake and it sets on my lower lashes. The black is almost finished, so I'll just get ridd of it and buy something else.

Yeah.

I kind of hate this pencil. It's a cute idea, and I love those, but it just doesn't work for me. Like everyone else has said, it smudges way too much. I have very deep set eyes, so I thought the white coupled with the black would make my eyes stand out, but no. I tried lining the inside rims of my lower eyelid with the white, with that then outlined in black. The colors are too stark placed next to each other and the black bleeds into the white, making it gray. Not a good look.

meh.

Good texture and very black/white. I bought this for a Punk look which I had to do for a client. It worked fine for that because both sides of the pencil is very easy to apply and smudge -- and then it keeps on smudging.

Not even black ES on top made it stop... finally I had to go over all of the black with my BB Black gel.

grrr.

i really, really wanted to like this product. It glides on really smoothly without any pulling of the lids and it was very easy to get a nice smoky look with the black end, just what i was looking for in an eye pencil. Unfortunately, the creamy texture smudges like crazy, it is completely un-usable as the colour smudges less than 15 mins once it's on my lids. Disappointing product, will not repurchase. I have to qualify that i've got extremely oily lids and live in a tropical country as well and so it's pretty impossible to prevent smudging.
Update: Found the perfect use for the black end of the pencil - as a base for dark eye makeup. The colour spread beautifully and coupled with green shadow on top, blended out pretty nicely as a smokey look on my medium, asian skin tone. I think this pencil should be better marketed as a cream eyeshadow than an eyeliner, judging by its extremely creamy formula. I'm just happy i've found a gd use to the pencil, thanks to the tip from xteeener's utube vids.

Black liner: Very soft, strong colour. Super easy to apply and very manageable. Perhaps a little too soft - easy to over-apply and smudges very easily.

White liner: Again great colour. Slightly firmer than the black - perfect for application and great stay-on power. Shows up amazingly well.

This was one of my first eyeliners so I loved that I got a black and a white eyeliner in a single product. Both colors are very creamy and pigmented, so a little goes a long way and it's easy to apply.

What I really, really hated though was that the black liner smudges like crazy. Even though I don't have oily lids, I had to whip out a mirror and wipe away the smudges every two hours or so, and by the end of the day, there's practically no liner left around my eyes.

I still use the white end occasionally to brighten up my inner corners, but I definitely will not purchase again.

I didn't realise how unsatisying this product was. The white fades so quickly as well as the black and smudges like mad. The price is nice and cheap but I'd only recommend getting it if you need a cheap product.

SMUDGES like no other.

i like how it initially applies - dark and bold line for the black side + bright white.. but in less than 2 seconds, i already have smudging and raccoon eyes forming.. that's just insane.

i'll test it out with UDPP and see if it helps.

Using this eyeliner reminded me why I use expensive eyeliners, After 5 minutes it was smudging under my eyes from my top lids. I must add I have found this to be the case with all Bourjois eyeliners. Never picking up this or any of their other liners again, but the concept of the black and white on either end is nice.

This was my first eyeliner and i bought it 4 years ago [i'm young!]. I love this eyeliner. it's a very deep black and it goes smoothly on the inner rims. this smudges, however, and i have to keep re-applying throughout the day. I don't really use the white part that much.

This is a good beginner's pencil. It's cheap, it's soft and applies easily, and it can be easily removed.

Of course, once you know how to apply your eyeliner and where you want it to stay, easy removal can be a problem. This is NEVER still on my eye at the end of the day. There are residual smears surrounding my eye, especially if I dared to touch my eye at any point during the day.

Also, I am not wholly opposed to the inner lid lined in white. In fact, if you're going to be photographed a lot, I would recommend it. But for every day, when you'll be dealing with people up close, it looks kind of weird. When I know I look tired, and I need an extra boost like that, I use a soft pink liner on my waterline.

All that being said, this eyeliner has its place. Certainly it's cheaper than most, particularly if you're in europe (this is just what I've heard, don't quote me). But it wears like a cheap liner, too.

I didn't actually buy the black and white one, I bought the cafe and creme one for the simple reason that I've put black eyeliner with white eyeliner on before and it was a little bit too much. The cafe and creme one though is great. It makes your eyes look more alive while keeping it looking natural at the same time. I'm not so sure about the brown part of the eyeliner though as I prefer to wear black eyeliner but it still looks good.

This eyeliner is a staple for me. The texture is super soft and creamy so it doesn't pull the skin when being applied. The black is gorgeously intense but can be smudged to reduce the pigmentation if necessary. I use the white side to line the eye and pat over with a shimmery eyeshadow - and presto ! you've created your own metallic liner.

The only complaints are:
Used on its own, it does smudge. But, if set with eyeshadow, it'll last all day.
Like noted by previous reviewers, it gets too soft in the heat.

I'm so on the fence about this. This is my second review for the product, I had the black and white one before but for Christmas I got the Cafe et Creme. I loved the idea of a more natural looking one, less harsh than straight black and white. Hmm. The pencil is creamy. But I wouldn't say long lasting. The brown is pretty, so is the nude color. For some reason I have trouble applying eyeliner to my bottom lid and I can't really make use of nude colored eyeliner on top. So for now, I'd buy this again. But I suppose I'm really just leaning towards using powder as eyeliner which is why I'm liking pencil eyeliners less and less.

I bought this to practise eye-liner application, I am hopeless at it, and my black Lancome kohl pencil was wasted with my feeble attempts. This one seems to have the right blend of soft/hard for me to be able to use it reasonably successfully - so far so good. I don't think I'd repurchase though.

I picked this up yesterday at Sephora. Unlike most people, I chose the new version of this 'cafe et creme'. This one is a skin colored nude on one end (creme) and a chocolate brown color on the other (cafe). For people who think that the 'noir et blanc' white liner is too intense on the inner eye rim (I absolutely agree, btw) then try this one. The creme color brightens up your eyes without looking artificial! For years I have been reading about celebrities using skin colored eyeliner to make themselves look fresh and rested, but I have NEVER been able to find a nude colored eyeliner - before yesterday! I am SO happy to have found this, and only hope that Bourjois keeps this around for a long time. This product is a wonderful find, and at 10.00$ (!) for two eyeliners, in my opinion its also a steal. Thank-you Bourjois!

I'm really loving this black and white eyeliner.First off, you get two colors for $10-preety good to me.Second,It goes on smooth and I got shaky hands so I'm in heaven.Third, the white liner makes me look alive. My tiny eyes are made to look just a bit wider and I love it.I'm a medium to deep complected african american so, sistas don't be afraid of the white liner. It is your friend!

Somehow the 'white on the inner and black on the outer' looks simply ridiculous on me. But its a nice idea though.

The black is very easy in use, but never stays in place and ALWAYS smudges. And that for somebody who lives in cold cold Holland..? >.< maybe I should try putting it in the fridge or something. I'll update when I do so.

And for that reason only, I'll be the first person here to not repurchase this product again.

I love this! The colors are true black and white, which I have been looking everywhere for before now. I don't really follow the white on inner rim, black on upper lid thing, because it doesn't really work well on my eyes but it still is a great product. I love the packaging as well, unfortunatly like a moron I brought this to camp and the black end (my favorite) had melted, it is still salvageable but I feel terrible about it. It would have been very annoying if I could no longer use it, as the price (10 bucks a pop) is a little expensive (although it is on the cheaper end of products from sephora) so I will be purchasing this again, but probably try to get it out of someone as a present.
