I found PD Perfect Illusion for Lips years ago when I "didn't really need it." I liked it, but it fell by the wayside.

I really need it now and tried the old tube on my lips (yuck--I hate old stuff). The same smooth base for lipstick or gloss. Fills in the lines. Feels soothing. Neither opaque and ghostly-looking, nor clear and therefore not providing a "neutral" background for color. Perfect!

I threw away the old tube and went to the Dorf webiste to order it. It's a must have in my book.

When I use this, i don't really see any difference in my lips.. The lines were still there, and my lips didn't get any plumper or anything like that. I kind of like putting it on before I put anything else on my lips, because i have dry lips and it kind of make it less dry, and feels a little better. I got it on sale, so it wasn't a huge waste of money. I would however spend it on something else next time.

The saleslady said it would fill in the lines right where I have 2 major lines. You know the ones on the peaks right below my nose. Most smokers have them. I don't smoke. I guess I'm just lucky :=(

WORST:
Didn't fill in any lines for me and I waited about 15 minutes before trying my lipstick. I mean no lines fine or large.
It was a terrible primer. Like putting wax on your lips.

BEST:
Got to try before buying.
Price is not so bad for a high end product.

I like this lip base because it makes my lips appear much fuller without applying strange, tingly chemicals as found in other popular lip plumpers. It fills in all o the crevices in the lip, leaving a smooth palette for lipliner and lipstick. I can tell a huge difference when I use it. Unfortunately, the tube doesn't last as long as I'd like, given the price (around $20), as I like to use it daily.

I used to buy this when I worked near a Sephora but I stopped because the stick kept breaking and the product would be loose in the pen/tube. Also, you really don't get a lot of bang for your buck - I was always running out of this so quickly. I am now using different products that I got for free at CEW plus LipFusion (I love it in Fresh) so I have plumper lips in general and don't need to waste any more money on this. They really need to make it either bigger or cheaper.

You're supposed to be able to use this product both for fine lines and migrating lipstick. I bought it to smooth out some fine lines around my eyes so I can't say if it works as a lip treatment. BUT as a purported line filler - nope. Doesn't do squat. I was hoping it would even out the surface a little - keep makeup from migrating into the fine lines. Didn't do anything. It's just wax, and felt like I was pulling at what is fragile skin in an effort to apply. I returned it to Sephora.

This works SO well, better than DeGroovie from Benefit, which is harder to apply. It is perfect for lipgloss especially since all the "invisible" lipliners are too light for me. I also use this under my eyes to keep my under eyeliner from smudging because my skin can get kind of oily through the day. I love it!

This really works. My lip lner and lipstick look so much better with this. It is a little expensive ($20USD), but I haven't found another product of this type that works as well. Most lip primers are too greasy or too hard to apply. Be careful when twisting, it does not go back down.

I am so pleased to have found this product; it literally damms up the fine lines around my lips to keep lipstick in place. It is emollient, yet doesn't feel the least bit waxy or greasy. Lipstick feathering used to be a big problem for me but not any more. I keep tubes at home, at my desk and in my purse, I'll never be without it!

I sampled this product a couple of times and saw no difference. However, in general, I really like the Paula Dorf line.

Didnīt prime my lips any better than any old lip liner. I thought this would be great for lip gloss, but soon found out that the gloss lasts exactly the same amount of time on its own. It was also quite drying and made me reach for lip balm.

This stuff is fabulous! I don't know about filling in lines, but it's the best lipstick primer out there - really keeps any color and any formulation from bleeding and really anchors the pigment to your lips. A lot of reviewers say it's like Chapstick, but it's nothing of the kind - Chapstick and other balms tend to make your lip color much sheerer (this doesn't change your lipstick color at all), as well as make it slip all over the place. Plus, it has that greasy, heavy feel, while this is feather-light and you don't feel it at all. Buy this!

When I read the negative review below, I thought it was mine, but I didn't remember posting it. I can only second what she said. I bought it based on the 100% perfect rating. I have used it for two weeks. It primes my lips exactly the same way that Chapstick does. My lipsticks and glosses do not last one second longer than they did without it. It didn't break me out, it doesn't smell funny, it's packaged nicely - but really, $20? Not from me. I very much prefer my PC clear lipliner. That holds it all together for me. Perfect Illusion was more Illusion than Perfect for me. I returned it to Sephora.

I smell a holy grail! I haven't put this to a real, purposeful test yet, but I have noticed that when I look in the mirror and my lipcolor is bleeding, it's a day I forgot this. When I look and see it's not bleeding, I have used it. And I always have bleeding problems (until now that is). Thumbs way up, worth the price!! Update: Don't you love a product that really does what it claims? I've been using this daily and watching my lipline...and I do have significantly less color migration than before, whether gloss, l/s or whatever. Definitely a re-purchase and a must for gals with an "uncertain" lipline.

I tested this in Sephora, liked it, and on a whim bought it and took it home. I debated for awhile on whether or not to keep it, but after rereading the reviews in Productville I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did! It filled in lines on my lips and made my lipstick and even lip gloss stay on much longer. This really is a perfect lipstick (or gloss) base!

I bought this based on the reviews I read here. I don't get it at all! To me this is a $20 chapstick. It didn't make my lipstick stay any longer... It didn't plump my lips. It did nothing for me. Oh well....

Perfect Illusion is *the* product I have been looking for. I use it as a clear lipliner--it is great because nothing bleeds through this, and because Perfect illusion is clear, I need it only for any lipcolor. No more buying multiple lipliners and having none of them truly stop lipstick bleeding. Perfect Illusion is THE only liplining product you will ever need again.

Thank you MUA's for your awesome recommendations! This product is the best. It actually keeps my lipstick & Lipglass in place for hours. I am the worst when it comes to bleeding lipstick & this stuff really makes it stick. Maybe I will save some money on lipstick since I won't be reapplying it every other hour!

I'm another fan of this great product!
It kept my MAC Lipglass from bleeding into my lip lines and that was very gratifying.
Paula Dorf just needs to make this pencil retractable.
Even the SA admitted that to me.
