The rose and iris fragrance for this candle is so delicate that it's almost indiscernible. The throw is pretty much nil. What fragrance there is, is lovely and quite unusual but it just needs to be stronger otherwise there's really no point. It doesn't burn evenly either. I like the white candle and the thin glass of the container. I am not so keen on the slightly cheap looking label.

Rose and iris scented candle, very pleasant, very fresh and not at all sickly or artificial. When lit, the fragrance does not diffuse into the room quite as much as I would like, hence I would not repurchase.

Tocca candles are very strong and have great throw. This is no exception.
Smells like a rose scent with a bit of fruitiness to it. Definitely not your classic english rose.
It's very pleasant and another uplifting one like yma.

Fragrance is perfection - a subtle, fresh, clean rose that's not too sweet & not cloying at all. Lovely. Only downside is that there is virtually no throw! I'm used to Henri Bendel candles (Honey, Fig, Verbena) which have delightful, pure, elegant fragrances *along* with fabulous throw. They can practically fill up the house with a lovely aroma that is not overpowering. Well, this Florence is such a fragile scent that you need to put it in a room - a small room - and close the door for 45 minutes if you want to enjoy it.
So OK, I just wish I'd known that going into it. I light it in the bedroom prior to getting ready for bed, and by the time I hit the sheets, the room is a rose garden & I drift off in a heavenly fashion. Wouldn't buy it again because I prefer to have the choice between using a candle in the home *or* the bedroom. With this one, it's just a bedroom candle. I'll certainly enjoy it fully, but you should know this before buying.

I like Florence. The rose scent is very subtle and soft, none of the usual cloying floral scent. It permeates the room slowly and infuses it with its light rose fragrance. Great for those who prefer something gentle.

Some of the best candles that I have tried. I love the packaging. Each candle comes with it's own matches. I enjoy most of the scents of theirs that I have tried. I also enjoy ergo candles, and votivo.

Tocca Florence is the perfect candle for my bedroom.
I love rose for my Victorian room but find most rose scents to be too cloying and headache producing.
This one is soft and comforting and even unlit, gives my entire room the faint scent of a very real roses.
Burned, the candle has good throw but is never overpowering. The container is lovely and the candle burns very clean, never leaving any soot.
One of my favorite Tocca candles....

This is it! One of my two HG candles of all time...the other being Yma from Tocca.The quality of Tocca candles is outstanding! They burn clean and true, with no smoking. Unlit, they can still scent a room, even the smaller travel sizes. Florence is a sweetly citrusy floral, with the tuberose scent only whispering through. Keep in mind these are tuberoses, not regular red/yellow roses, so the scent is sweeter and softer as a result. Florence is the kind of scent you want in a boudoir, powder room, dressing room or lady's craft room, feminine, refined, pretty, happy. I've burned my way through a few of these already since first discovering them this past spring and I can see myself repurchasing this scent endlessly and often. It is the smell of spring in a candle - wondorous and perfect!
In Canada, unless you live in Toronto near the Sephora store, you can find these sometimes at better boutique gift stores. Otherwise, it's strictly online only from Sephora, Beautyhabit or Lacreme. The large size is usually about $32 US.

I find that this is my favorite candle for my bedroom. It lends an almost sensual atmosphere to my bedroom when I burn it and it is neither heady or cloying for me. The scent is a wonderful floral without being too headay or overwhelming and it also gives me a sense of comfort and peace when I smell it!

Hmmm... I know I'm in the minority, but this candle was a disappointment. After the fresh-cut roses scent of the Rosine votives, I had high hopes for my Florence candlina. Alas, my hopes were dashed. I detect no rose at all, nor orris root. It's a vaguely green, peppery, pleasant-enough fragrance. The candle does fill a room with the fragrance, but it's not evocative enough to repurchase. **EDITED 11-25-06** I'm not sure where my mind was when I wrote this, but this is a beautiful candle. I've been through 3 of them now. This has a wonderful, old-world Renaissance garden scent. I think my nose needed maturity in order to appreciate it.

You know a candle is good when you can just open the box and the fragrance wafts through the room. The scent is every bit as fresh and clean as the Florence bath and shower gel. Plus, the packaging is so beautiful it almost qualifies as artwork.

"Florence" is supposed to smell like roses, but I find it on the sweeter side of floral (rose scents tend to be heady and warm). This has very long lasting fragrance - I don't even have to light the candle to release the scent. I love beautiful packaging with any product, and Tocca candles are by far the prettiest in their simplicity. I even can't bear to throw the box away. The one thing that I don't like much is the way the candle burns down - straight down the middle with plenty of wax left over on the sides. It's supposed to last at least 60 hours, but I'm only halfway there and the wick is almost finished. Still, I'd consider re-purchasing...I want to try the other available scents in this line.

Now this is very nice! This is the perfect Tocca candle for those of you completely turned off by the powerful scents of the others. It is mainly rose and orris root. However, the rose just adds a subtle richness to the powdery iris instead of being a heady bouquet. Light, uplifting, and feminine!
