We bought several of these in tins for a camping trip to Belize. Burning them, especially lots of them, does produce too sweet of a scent. However, what I love about these candles is the throw and more than six years later, we are still using these candles to make our rooms smell better. We sometimes burn one for a few minutes, but mostly we just take the tin lids off and the soy wax releases a nice fragrance into the room. Wish more Pacifica candles had this strong a scent, since I prefer to fragrance our home with natural oils.

High quality candles. Indian Chai is a pretty sophisticated scent cold - deep, rich and heavy on the black tea. Once you start to burn it though, it picks up such a sweet tone to it that I get kinda sick of it - same as Mexican Cocoa. If it's possible for a candle scent to be almost TOO strong with TOO much throw, this is it. It's gorgeous, but then it starts to make me ill. These do burn for a long time. Overall, I prefer Archipelago Candles - they have more complex scents.

This candle smells exactly like chai -- tea, many fabulous spices such as cardamon and cinnamon, milk, a hint of vanilla. It is sweet but not overly so as the spices dominate. Since I adore chai, the scent of this candle is heavenly to me. This is my first Pacifica candle, and I find that it has great throw. If I burn it in my kitchen, the scent fills neighboring rooms. It doesn't smoke if I trim the wick, though other reviewers have complained about that. Overall, a lovely candle that in scent and price offers an alternative to my Diptyque ones.
