Eau de Givenchy is a greenish white floral very much like Anais Anais and to my nose, close enough for either of them to be mistaken for each other. The ever-so-slight difference is Anais Anais had a rough lily note that just ruined it for me. Eau de Givenchy is feminine, genteel, and somewhat boring. Too much like Anais Anais.... I find it a little off-putting.

I agree with the reviewer who dubbed this an "ethereal" scent--sheer and light, understated, ladylike. This is a three-season scent for me, one of the few light florals I can wear into autumn. The combination of spearmint, fruit, and tagetes (aka the common garden marigold) is reminiscent of Lauren, though Eau de Givenchy is much lighter and doesn't smell as dated (Lauren is strongly associated with the 1980s for me). The mint and marigold add a cool, refreshing aspect. I would prefer a bit less powder--otherwise it's just perfect. This was recently reissued by Givenchy in their "Les Mythiques" collection. I haven't tried the new juice and can't comment on whether it's true to the original scent.

This is one of the most interesting colognes I've ever tried. There's tons of change throughout with the different notes peaking at different stages. Citrusy and refreshing but there's also a huge dose of herbs with a touch of indolic florals. Interesting and thought provoking, this is a complex summer frag. Woody chypre drydown while maintaining some of the citrus. There's also a vitamin c smell throughout which keeps the fragrance from getting too pretty. This review is for the Mystiques version.

Probably one of the first perfumes I bought (around 20 years ago), I have used it sporadically. I don't hate it or dislike it, it is springy and light and quite fresh. I think that this was probably ok for me when I was a teenager just because it is light enough.

Not really sure about this one. To me this is a fruity fresh floral scent, which doesn't really have much green in it. I got this after testing it several times which is unusual for me and ended up getting it after exchanging it in place of Fleur L'interdit (see my review) as that had a note in it which I didn't care for. Well this comes out quite powdery in the dry down with a strong honysuckle smell, but has quite good staying power, as do most Givenchy fragrances on me. I like it but I don't love it, however I would recommend this as a none offensive everyday scent. Nothing great but ok....I have a 100ml bottle, so I have enough to decide! My HG scent search continues.

Very cool, clean, and green. I do detect the spearmint in this. It is initially a little bit masculine on my skin, making it difficult for me to love it but as it dries down I'm rewarded with a little more floral, hints of Anais Anais. I received this last fall, but have been unable to wear it until now (late June) as it is definitely a hot weather fragrance.

Eau de Givenchy is a light green floral fragrance that has a distinctive touch of spearmint and ozonic/marine notes. I know that the spearmint aspect may sound odd and “gum-like” but it actually makes the perfume quite refreshing and cool. There are no citrus notes so Eau de Givenchy is definitely unlike other “Eau’s” out there. Finally, it would really appeal to someone who like Balmain Vent Vert.
Here are the notes per The Perfumed Court’s website: bergamot, spearmint, tagetes, greens, fruits, honeysuckle, jasmine, lily of the valley, tuberose, rose, cyclamen, orris, musk, cedarwood, sandalwood, and moss.

It's a pretty floral, perfect for spring or summer. I can detect the many florals, not much green though and it's a bit creamy on my skin. I keep sniffing my wrist, hoping I'll love it at the next sniff, but six hours later there is no love. However, if you are a floral lover, I recommend trying it.

This does remind me of a cool spring or summer morning, going outside to sip coffee and getting a whiff of 'greenery w/ hints of floral touched by dew', possibly where it got very cool overnight. It's a very subtle fragrance. I thought I would adore this and bought it for a great price at Marshall's one day, without sniffing. Mexxie's review mentions Lauren and Camille in comparison (both of which I love). Those have something this one does not: a slight hint of spice/something to pull the fragrance down to earth. This is very ethereal so if you are looking for light, subtle florals w/ a touch of 'airiness' then check this out. I'll continue to use and see if this one grows on me a bit more...

This is one of my top two fragrances. I love to wear it in the spring--it's a big more crisp than the fragrances I reach for in the summertime. It's a very fresh floral with more than a bit of "green" mixed in. It lasts all day on me.

I bought this fragrance on Ebay unsniffed based on the great reviews. I was glad I didn't pay a lot for it because I hated it. Perhaps it did not mix with my body chemistry because on me it was a rather flat, heavy floral that smelled almost(i hate to say it)like BO! After trying it a couple of times I offered it to my sister, who smelled it and rejected it instantly.
I finally left this at work with a "free" note on it and it found a home.
Definitely would not repurchase.

This is the perfect scent for hot summer days. It would be fine otherwise, too, but I first wore this 15 years ago in the summer and have recently rediscovered it. It is clean. More floral than I remember, but not screaming flowers. BTW,it used to come with shampoo, powder, lotion, shower gel,etc and each in itself was awesome-worth a look at the old auction sites.

This is a beautiful floral. I'm not so much for florals, but I do like this one. Very light, perfect for summer and very affordable. I would give it a 4.5 really. EDIT: Taking off a lippie because you can only smell it for 10 minutes. Not kidding--10 MINUTES!

I've been wearing this one since I was about seventeen and I've always gotten tons of compliments on it.
This is a lovely clear scent somewhat citrus-y at first but dries down to a delicate fruity/floral fragrance. It does have a tendency to wear off rather quickly in the summer but I love the fact it's not intrusive or heavy. I hate smelling someone's perfume all the way down the length of a train or in an empty elevator. This one is definitely more subtle but very distinctive. For a while I switched it for Amarige d'Amour and L'Interdit which are other (sort of similar) Givenchy favorites of mine but I think I will be going back to Eau de Givenchy full time again. Just a note of caution - the final scent does depend on body chemistry because the dry-down smelled *completely* different on a friend of mine who found it vaguely "mouldy'.

I find this is one I turn to on the muggy hot dog days of summer.I have worn this little treasure for ever , keep coming back to it every year. It is just so pleasant, a very lt floral. It is not expensive or hard to find which can be a plus and its hard to offend wearing this

Ok this fragrance is awesome. A very clean smell, unlike anything else out there. Maybe Lauren by Ralph Lauren is similar but Eau de Givenchy is more crisp and airy. Very good lasting ability. It has a very noticable marigold note which I love. I bet wish they would repackage it and make it easier to find. This could work for men or women. Just great. Last very well too, for such a light clean scent. I love how it smells like 1982 (I know this sounds strange but it does). Very pleasant scent.

This is a lovely and generally underrated fragrance. It is so delicate and subtle, reminds me of a sunny morning in spring. I usually wear fragrances which make more of a statement, but sometimes this elegant and light scent is just right. Not expensive at all, the packaging could be improved, though.

As soon as I tested this (and I'm sure I've never heard of it before; I just saw an unfamiliar blue-labelled Givenchy bottle at Shoppers and decided to try it), I instantly recognized it. I KNOW I've smelled this before and I'm wracking my brain trying to figure out where, or on whom. For all I know, I could be recalling a scent-memory from 20 years ago. Anyway, it's a more florally-than-usual-mixed floral, yet it still manages to not be overpowering. Nice. Must find out more about this mystery scent that has a plain bottle, cheap price ($30), and barely even has a name to call its own...
Edit: It's come to me. Back around the late 80's or so Cover Girl made these fragranced body sprays. I have no idea if they had names, but I remember using one in a blue can--and if memory serves, it smelled just like Eau de Givenchy--a refreshing, lightly floral scent.
