I really enjoy this scent. I wear it in the cooler months as it can get a little intense in the Southern California Summer heat. Also, it's definitely one of those that has to work with your chemistry. On my mom, it smells like a medicine cabinet. On my aunt and me, it smells lovely. I am a bit of a C&E addict as I have the Nantucket Briar, the Summer Hill and the Rosewater in the EDT, the lotion, the shower gel, the hand cream and the environmental oils. I love them all. My skin must work well with them because I get more compliments on them than I do on many of my other fragrances (and I have over a hundred).

I went to C&E to pick up a few staples and decided to spend a few minutes checking out other products. I stupidly bought this EDT without giving it a chance to "settle." The associate described it as a beachy type of scent and mentioned salt air and a few other beachy sounding things as fragrance notes. I didn't catch anything even remotely beachy about this, it is a rather heavy powdery scent. On a positive note this is not very expensive, has a pretty bottle, and seems to last forever.

I was purchasing a Christmas gift at C&E's. So I thought I might as well get something for myself. My mom had a discontinued body mist that she loved so I thought that despite the steep price I would try another one. I was shopping online so whichever scent I chose was a leap of faith. When I saw the description I was like "I have to get this!". Sadly it does not amount to as much as I (desperately) wish it would. It doesn't smell bad at all it just doesn't smell amazing. Actually it kinda smells like my bug spray ( go figure). I will use it as I rarely say no to any form of body product, but I wouldn't repurchase this scent. :(
EDIT
I have been using this after I take a shower with no lotion and it actually is kind of nice. I don't think that I will repurchase but I am no longer entertaining thoughts of giving this away. My skin has a very light powdery feminine smell all day without being overpowering. Plus several guys that I know have said that I smell really good when I wear it. I would never buy the EDT or Lotion though because we're not getting carried away here it still doesn't smell THAT good.

I don't know what I was thinking when I first got this fragrance big mistake, ended up giving it away. Very strong gave me a headache. It is probably better as a room fragrance.

I have the shower gel and the hand cream, which I received as a Christmas present.

This isn't a scent I normally would have purchased for myself, but I'm loving it. A very clean, floral scent, and the quality of the products is quite good, also.

I would repurchase this.

I used to love this scent so when I was at the mall I thought I would give it a sniff. Whew...what was I thinking. It reminds me of my neice's bedroom when she was a baby; a combination of baby powder, baby wipes and diaper pail deodorizer..

My mother and grandmothers' classic scent. I am quite young and I even love this scent. Unlike other old-lady fragrances, this one simply intrigues me of the sea and a day in Nantucket, and of days of fresh laundry on the line in the summer. BUY IT NOW!!! You won't be disappointed!!

A strange combination of notes -- breezy , spicy, powdery, warm, and flowery -- that all come together to make a refreshing yet comforting fragrance; sort of like snuggling into a warm bed after taking a brisk shower. Update 9/28: The drydown is decidedly bitter and medicinal. Busting this down to 2 lippies.

Several years ago my coworker (an older lady...around age 50) gave a refresher oil/light bulb ring in this fragrance to me as a gift. She came to work raving about how good it made her house smell, so naturally I was interested. Well, I'm sorry I ever showed enthusiasm because a minute after I turned my lamp on, I was strangled with a potent, spicy, powdery stinch. I was literally gagging! My boyfriend (at the time) scrunched his nose up and said it was the worst thing he'd ever smelled. I honestly can't see someone wearing this as perfume. Needless to say, I slam dunked it.

I love this scent- love the powdery spiciness. I have several products- body lotion, shower gel, talc, EDC, handcream and drawer liner. Let's just say...I can't get enough of it sometimes, lol! The drawer liner is perfect for my bathroom linen closet- my towels and washcloths smell so wonderful. Guests have commented on them and loved the scent.

I never write bad reviews. But this stuff is just awful. It smells like someone trying to cover up the smell of rankness in a restroom. Its very artificial and synthetic- its like pseudo-classy. There is a lot better of this sort of scent out there and I hope you find it.

Rose, honey, lemongrass, periwinkle are the notes, according to the C&E website. Not clean smelling or like fresh laundry at all. I really like rose fragrances (used to hate them, so keep an open mind) and this is different from any I've got and I've got plenty! I do smell a spicy note, almost a carnation or clove type of scent. I applied it an hour ago and it's just starting to dry down a bit powdery. C&E are inexpensive compared to most fragrances and I think I may go back to buy this one.

This is the loveliest fragrance I've ever known, to me it smells like candies. The package design is as delicate as the scent, with intricate light blue flowers tracing all over the box.

This scent was not for me. My sister loves this one, but I really found it nauseating. I love Crabtrees Summer Hill though. It is my favourite.

Fresh, clean laundry scent that never gets soapy. The roses smell clean and a bit powdery. This is a good casual yet classy scent that will never go out of style. I won't purchase a bottle only because I have a vast collection of fragrances already and I'm not too much into clean scents.

Oh how this reminds me of my Grandmother. She must have worn something similar to this. I don't know what it is. She had lots of antiques, and antiques have a certain smell. Not, an old smell... Just a smell of time. If time and memories has a smell... this is it! This reminds me also of the east coast, just before it rains.

I worked in a gift shop in a little coastal resort town in Maine over my summer vacation during college that carried this line. My grandmother used to come in and visit me during my shift and she fell in love with the scent of Nantucket Briar. So, for every birthday gift, I got her the lotion, which she used all the time and loved it. She had very sensitive skin, and swore by the body lotion. It is a very powdery, spicy but floral scent. To me, it will always remind me of my fun summer job at the gift shop, and my dear grandmother, who has recently passed away.
