I got this because it was on sale, and I like ozon fragrances, but this one was terrible,it smelled like really boozy mans cologne, and very cheap,I decided to use it as an airfreshner in the bathroom, but it was so awful I had to keep the window open for days,I don't know if this fragrance was gone bad or something, but it was terrible

I just simply cannot find a fragrance that accurately captures the smell of the ocean. This scent is rather strong and actually smells like men's cologne to me. I also have Salt Air, which smells a little better, but both are just mediocre to me.

Tanning skin, salt, ozone, wet sand, marine water... and just a touch of driftwood? A highly wonderful marine/beach scent that is most likely highly underrated because it's a Demeter. But surprise! The longevity is GREAT. The smell, while simple and without much evolution, lasts in its entireity for hours and hours.
Not as amazing as Laura Tonatto's Oltre as far as matching the smell of the sea and I'm not sure it's art, but for the price it's pretty fantastic.

I like this! I see most people don't. It actually smells like the ocean air.

My first whiff of this and I thought yes, ocean! It reminds me of days on the beach when it was cold and no-one went in the sea, but you could smell the salt and rain in the air. Not a very pleasant scent, but it does remind me of the ocean at least.

I got this in the lotion and was not impressed. It smelled like dusty suntan lotion in a melted plastic bottle to me. I did not get an ocean vibe from this. Maybe if you left your bottle of suntan lotion in the sand in the sun and it melted while you were in the ocean, you could get an ocean feel from it but who wants that?

NOT one of the more impressive Demeters I have smelled. Ocean? I can't smell it. I don't get ANY "aquatic" qualities from this whatsoever. Goodness knows I've tried: I've sprayed this one again and again on ME, on my children (God forgive me), and as aroom spray throughout my house, at various seasons of the year, in desperate hope that for just one brief moment I might escape my dreary life in this unrelenting desert I live in, and (lacking funds to book a flight or take a road trip) mentally go to the ocean, so I can be hypnotized by the rhythym of the incoming waves, so I can hear my children giggle exultantly as they chase the gulls, so I can feel the sand give beneath my feet, and be startled by the spray of a BIG wave as it hits the rocks. Perhaps that was hoping a bit much for under $20, but you know, I would have been satisfied if Ocean PMU had even smelled like damp, sandy cheap motel room near the sea. After 9 months of trying this scent every which way but standing on my head, I tell you, I can not find the merest hint of the sea in it. It doesn't smell like any ocean I've ever been to, or even Lake Erie. It doesn't smell marine, it doesn't even smell like a Marine. What else am I to do with it? I have resigned myself to the loss of $16, and currently use it as a room spray on those special occasions when I want my bathroom to smell like the Arizona State Fair.

What ocean was Demeter using as the smell sample?!! Chemical, offensive, not even the slightly reminiscent of an ocean. Threw it out after a week of trying to like it.

I was expecting more from this fragrance, but it doesn't smell like the ocean to me at all. It smells like chemicals, and gives me a headache.

It doesn't smell like suntan lotion. I don't think it was meant to either. It does capture the smell of the ocean area though. It's a fresh, clean smell.

At first I caught a whiff of "cat pee", then it settled into a distinct note of "bad breath". There might be a distant trace of calone (calone is a chemical which is used to recreate the ocean note) somewhere far in the background.

I love the seashore, and I love the smell of suntan lotion. The GOOD kind of suntan lotion, not the cheap, icky, chemical-scented suntan lotion. This Demeter smells like the bad kind of suntan lotion, the kind that your mom made you wear that has an SPF of 100 or something, that doesn't smell like coconuts because the coconut one wasn't on sale. There is nothing in this Demeter that reminds me of the good things about the ocean, like the salt air, the water, the freshness, or the sheer joy of it all. It's just the icky part, the sweat, the yucky bad suntan lotion, and the cramped, overheated, crowded family car. Imagine nasty suntan lotion on hot vinyl car seats in the 1970s, and you've got it.

Oh boy! I really love this scent. I can't stop sniffing my wrists when I am wearing this. It lasts better than other Demeter PMU ( a few hours vs. a few minutes) so I like that. Can't wait to try the lotion or body oil. Would love it in a shampoo.

I love this stuff, The PMU spray is a reminder of a great day at the beach, salt air and suntan lotion. The unforunate thing is it does not have any staying power. I use it with the calming lotion so it does last a little longer that way. The lotion is also a great leave in conditioner and that scent really does last in your hair.

I know this is one of Demeter's best sellers, but I feel like I've just been trapped in an elevator with an unattractive man wearing way too much cheap cologne. One of the few Demeters that triggers a headache for me, and rather musty-smelling to my nose. I hate to say it, but "Blech!" No marine or seashore notes at all ...

Instant favorite. One of those best demeter scents that shocks you, even though you knew they could do it. It smells...salty, and sandy. I thought it might smell a little more like suntan lotion or other beach-type scents, but it doesn't, and it is better for that. Lately, as I'm writing my dissertation, I find that I NEED to have this with me, even if I have to spray it on the sly in the library...it is mentally refreshing, like a day at the beach. Clears your head, and at its best moments, can take the place of a nap.

I hated this scent. It smelled "sour" or stale to me. I couldn't put my finger on it, but it's not something I'd care to smell like.

YUCK! Nothing about it smells like the ocean or any part of the beach! Smell it first before you buy it!
