This is a great matte, nude lip for darker skintones.
I have Indian, NC44 skin and this is one of the only nudes that does not wash me out. It is a peach/pinky-brown on me, but more brown than pink. I love the matte finish, and it stays on for several hours. I do have to emphasize my eyes when I wear this, but I have to do this with al nudes because my face can fall a little flat when wearing nudes.

Even though i have tons of nude lipsticks, i just could not resist purchasing Taupe after i saw a youtube video with a lady about my skin tone rocking taupe. It looked gorgeous on her and is absolutely amazing on me as well (MAC C8).
This is a matte finish which I love. It has a good amount of slip to it though and is nowhere near as drying as the fabulous ruby woo. The color on my lips is closest to a very warm peachy pinky brown. There is no mauve tone to this lipstick at all, and that makes it awesome in my books. It is not lighter than my skin tone, so you don't get that light nude look. It is utterly posh and beautiful on me and i am loving every minute of wearing it with MAC cork as a liner.
I see Taupe becoming my go-to lipstick. Other nudes i love are Revlon Mink and Nyx Tea

This color is NOT a dupe for Revlon's Cocoa Craving like a reviewer below said. I have both and MAC's is a brick reddish brown, the Revlon is an orangey red brown. Keep that in mind whenever someone says ______ is a dupe for _______. The same lipstick (as well as blushes) can look very different on people, depending on your skintone and natural lip color.

The make up artist suggested this color when I mentioned I wanted a neutral /coral color for my NC45 coloring. The name is misleading to me, it's in the warm family. I love this color! It's very similar to the color Touch, and browner than Mocha. It looks like a beautiful peachy clay color on my lips, nice for a every day look and giving me a warmer look in the winter. Not very drying so far and it looks very nice with dot of MAC's Sublime Shine gloss.

I have been looking for this colour. I melted some of my old neutral colour lipsticks into something resembling this colour but hated using it because it was in a jar and came out slightly lighter than I was used to.
But this is the right peachy brown neutral colour for my warm skin, it brightens up my face and is everyday classic - perfect for no-makeup makeup. It is best worn with lip balm underneath and has more slip than the other MAC Mattes that I've tried whilst still being highly pigmented and easy to wear.

MAC Taupe is my go to lipstick. I wear this shade every single day and I've had it for months. I love the way it looks on my skin (I'm an NC43 for reference) and it just looks flawless! I highly recommend this lipstick. Also, I don't like shine so I usually only wear matte lipsticks. But you can totally add some lip gloss on top if you wanted to do so.

I just got it today and I really love it!!!!!! Just the right amount of colour so that I don't look washed out but rather polished but without the too much attention I would get wearing a red or berry lipstick. This is love at first wear!!!!!

I purchased this MAC lip color per their recycling program. The very minute I tried it on I loved it! I've been trying to find the perfect nude for many years and I think I've found it in Taupe. It looks amazing with minimal makeup and defined brows.

*As a note, this lip color looks best against cool skin tones*

Colour descriptions by other reviewers are accurate...but I will add that the name is a bit deceptive as I think of taupe as cooler or more purple (like Satin Taupe MAC e/s). Regardless, this is a great lipstick for my NC40-42 skintone. It's matte, so I expected it to be fairly drying but it's more than expected and leaves my lips flaky after several days of continuous use. (I tend to rotate my lip products because I dont like the same lip/cheek combo every day.) Chapstick before lipstick is a given and lip balm is a daily must for me anyway, but this is still a really drying lipstick compared to other MACs. I'm not sure I would recommend this for those with pink undertones but it could work. Would repurchase, but after reading the review below about a suitable Revlon dupe, I might try that one first (thanks for the suggestion!).

Expensive version of Revlon's Cocoa Craving, tbh. While this retails for SG$28, Revlon's retails for SG$15. They are the EXACT same colour, with Revlon's being a smidgen lighter. Also - Revlon's is also creamier, but has the same drying factor as MAC's. The colour is gorgeous on NC35 - 40 girls no doubt, but I'd suggest you'd make a beeline for the drugstores and pick Revlon's matte lippie instead.

This is such a gorgeous color! On my lips, it's a dusty brick reddish brown. But the more I apply, it comes out to a dusty orangey brown. Love love love. This lipstick is perfect for a light brown smokey eye or neutral eye with a black winged liner and contoured cheeks. I have to give thanks to ThePersianBabe on YouTube because I think she's gorgeous and she was raving about this lipstick so I had to pick it up! It's a matte lipstick but I forget that sometimes because it's just creamy on my lips. Def would repurchase if I were to ever run out of this color! :)

I got this lipstick as one of my Christmas presents, and it was amazing! It's very high quality, and so amazingly pigmented. I don't have a problem with it being dry if I have lip balm underneath. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because you do have to reapply it during the day, which is a bit of a hassle but worth it.

Pale ladies with warm undertones - this may not be the most flattering on you.. You never know though! I am NW15 and this shows up sort of a orange-brown.

In the tube looks like a desaturated brick to me. The texture isn't as creamy as I would have liked. It's reminiscent of Twig which is more rosey and light my daily MLBB colour. If this colour doesn't work for you check that one out! In all honesty I probably would not have chosen this for myself it was a gift. I will not be repurchasing!

Got this for my NC 43 skin...was good to camouflage my pigmented lips but it was sort of a pasty pink...It looks great in yellow lighting...but in the sun, it makes me look weird...I still use it occasionally mixed with other colours or glosses...won't be buying it again, though.

On me, Taupe is just...iiiiight. It's nothing special at all. It's half a shade darker than my natural lips and just looks like a plain boaring wash of brown against my complexion. I much prefer it with a smokey eye on myself but I have many other shades of lipstick i would reach for before this one. I think it's just "Ok" so therefore i wouldn't re-purchase ever again. It will last for eons since i don't wear it much.

Taupe is the perfect fall color. It is a really nice brown based neutral lipstick with a bit of a red brickish color (think of the color of an adobe). I observed that some of the reasons for bad reviews on this product is because people expect this to be a nude lipstick - well its really not a nude. I feel like a lot of warmer tanner skintones look great with this lipstick. So if you have tanner or warmer complexion, grab this! It is a bit drying, but that is because it is a matte. Just apply some lip balm and moisturize before applying it. Staying power is also great.

The description on the MAC website is pretty accurate: "Muted Reddish Taupe Brown". That's exactly how it looked in the tube. Unfortunately on my lips, it was anything but reddish/brown. It was more like dark, rusty orange which did nothing for my complexion. For reference nc42 (summer) nc35-37 (winter). The color made me look a lot older too. Maybe it was a combination of the color and the formula which is matte. Being that it's matte and relatively dark in color, it was also one of the longest lasting shade in their matte line. I swiped it on in the a.m. and still had a slight stain 8 hrs later and this is through eating and drinking. Because of the same reason, it was also very drying. This, in my experience, is one of the most drying matte shades from MAC. With all this said, there is nothing wrong with the color at all. It's just not my kind of color but I can see this working real well for someone darker than me. I gave this one to my mom and she has loved it ever since.

I bought this lipstick to provide natural looking color when I am wearing foundation. While it does bring out a great color in my eyes, I find that the purple base color also brings out the color of the hyperpigmentation on my cheeks and jawline. I think it makes my NW15 complexion look a bit sickly. I like look of the matte, but it dries out my lips too much.

although this is not my favourite lipstick, i still didn't take any lipsticks off, but i'm not sure i would buy again because this was a little darker than i expected it to be.

this to me is like a dark brick colour with less redness. and because it is a Matte, it doesn't reflect any light, and can look a little stark and unforgiving on my fair skintone. i do layer it with pale lipglosses which really makes this colour work, but on its own, i can only wear a little!
